Humble pie time

I don't us staying up proves anything about Pearson. We have had the squad that should never have been relegated.

Personally, although Pearson takes credit overall for building the team over the years, I think he's done a poor job this season. Away from home especially his negative tactics have really cost us.

Neither away game in the last 8 matches has proved he's learnt his lesson about the way we need to play (considering how dominant we were in the other matches at home in the run) and we need to have a manager who knows our strengths and sticks to those principles which have served us well. I don't think that's Pearson.

So, smug? I don't think that's warranted. Let's just be pleased we're still in the league, that doesn't make Pearson a genius. Thankfully, we at least had a go at home because we absolutely needed to.

Hahahahaha

19th most expensive side in the division, 14th in the league. I know what I'm reading in to that.

Yeh and I said he deserves credit for building the team. But since we got that team, it was no where near bad enough to have struggled how we have. THIS season, we've underperformed over most of the season. It's only in 6 of the last 8 games (no surprise those were at home) where we showed what we're all about.

Come on you need to attach a clue.

Haha ok maybe not.

lol I got yours just from the construct, all that was missing was an 'imo' and a couple

This forum was incredibly acidic at one point, alot of shit washed back into the cracks and the sane ones that snapped eventually have come around, ttfn made an incredible post for his view of Pearson going

Remember me and tom went to the saints u18 cup game, and a saints fan said to us, will you stay up, I replied yes, defintely. Well, looks like I wzs right, and am currently pi55ed! Cant wait for next sunday. Love Leicester, and all you posters

Bore off.

No mate, I won't. Just cos you're happy today does not mean we haven't played some woeful games this season and have only been put ina difficult position due to stupid tactics.

You want me to say Pearson has proven everyone wrong? You bore off, he hasn't.

Over most of the season we've overperformed. Do you know how a league table works?

I'm not at all sure what the smugness is about.

We got ourselves into an awful mess which many of us couldn't really see the reason for.

In essence we were conceding goals too easily and hardly scoring at all...a recipe for relegation if continued for eight days longer than it did.

Whether by luck, judgement or response to the anger of critical fans we changed our approach quite dramatically.

We switched to three at the back with wing backs, played much more positively in terms of getting people forward and creating/supporting chances, plugged the leaks in our defence by signing Huth and a couple of other things I won't bother mentioning but which also made a contribuition.

Result? Games which had previously gone narrowly against us, narrowly went for us..or even better. We started scoring goals, slowed the flow of conceded goals dramatically and every true City fan should be utterly delighted.

For me it's well done the critics for putting sufficient pressure on Pearson to perhaps help prompt a rethink but my life, was it a close thing. Perhaps the missed penalty by Burnley close. But football is about outcomes and both Pearson, the players and our owners deserve credit for what is unquestionably a merited, and important achievement. I hope it's onwards and upwards from here.

Don't mind people not wanting a certain manager at the football club, but the constant jibes at him, his staff and his squad was completely out of order.

To those people who called him clueless, arrogant, stupid etc. How's it looking now the shoes on your foot?

Kitchensink is looking like a right ostrich.

"doesn't know the team" - Only Schmeichel and Schlupp in the squad today not Pearson signings  :nigel:

"not played properly away" - 7 points from 9 in the last three says otherwise.   :nigel:

"Won't stick to the principles that served us so well" - was more than willing to go back to them when they were needed  :nigel:

I really didn't think it was possible to be such a negative tool after that.

What do you base that on?

We have less premier experience in our squad than Burnley. So bore off.

You also said in a past post about 'Pearson won't take the club forward'. The man has took us from league 1 to maybe even mid-table premier league.

Over the course of a 10 month season you are going to have some woeful games, that is football, players are humans not robots and they will under perform on occasions. This is a side that Nigel built from the wreck that Sven left and he's taken them up as Champions with 100+ points and in his first season in the Premiership as a manager he's made the club survive with 1 game spare. You are deluded to think that a team can get promoted and instantly assert itself in the league, it's the exception not the norm. You clearly can't accept that you were wrong and won't admit that you know **** all about football.

Feeling smug seeing as I consistently voted that Pearson should stay in the polls :)

Big congrats to the lads from a consistent Pearson supporter who never lost the faith. And a big thanks to whoever did not renew as I'm getting far better seats next season as a result.

Always stuck by the manager and the team but I appreciate everybody has their own way of supporting us. Even the most optimistic fan couldn't have foreseen us oulkibg off this remarkable run

lol only you could be miserable at a time like this. Rather be right than the club do well

I've never known a manager that provokes such extremes as Pearson, I've never known a season of highs and lows like this one. From Swindon-Town-94 bad in October and November to the greatest top-flight run in our history.

Tears have been shed, beers have gone flying, bollox has been spoken on foxestalk. The world keeps spinning.

Personally I doubted the guy in '08, when he came back in '11, after the terrible run in '13 and during much of this season. I'm not a football chairman, I'm a pessimistic Leicester fan, shoot me. The egg on my face always tastes delicious, long may I be proven wrong.

I thought (quite blindly admittedly) that we'd stay survive but **** me, these 'I told you so' threads are boring, almost means more to some people just to say that now (and last season after promotion) than celebrating the club's acheivements this season and last...

I'm sure everyone who is eating humble pie is doing so with a massive smile

Kitchandro hasn't smiled since 1998 and some people who witnessed that, claimed it was possibly trapped wind.

Posted

They belittled fans for believing in him. They well and truly deserve to be put in their place. Pearson has proved many times how good a manager he is but some people never learn. A lot of personal attacks on him were not on either.

Exactly right. People on here took dog's abuse for standing by Pearson and being "Pearsonites" who wanted our club to fail rather than make a change.

I'm not going to start any threads, name any names or quote any examples but those people know who they are and I have no doubt if we have a bad spell again they'll change their minds (again) and start moaning. It's alright saying "but back in February everyone thought we were gone" but firstly no they didn't and secondly, the abuse started in mid October not February.

I'm just enjoying the moment and I'll happily read all the humble pie threads. AFTER I've looked through all the pics and celebrated the achievemnt.
