TrentFox Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 I have absolutely no idea who he is; what position he plays; or if he's any feckin good. But it's the most exciting thing I've read on here in eons and I say we should break the bank for him!!!
tylesta Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Decent name but can't imagine he's any good if he's playing in America I never laughed so much
MC Prussian Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Someone posted on twitter that we are interested in Zappacosta from Atalanta Some Italian tifosi already label him "the next Zambrotta" and Juventus are apparently interested, intending on building him up as Lichtsteiner's successor.
Callabinho Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 We do need a new RB, both are currently shit and Albrighton isn't a natural RB.
benpicko Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 We do need a new RB, both are currently shit and Albrighton isn't a natural RB. de Laet wasn't shit in the latter half of the season, though looking at how he was often replacing Was and doing well I do think they're trying to make that his position now and we'll be needing a new RB
AKCJ Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Be suprised if we're in for him as we really don't need another rb EH?! We're desperate for a good right back. We might have two and two centre halves that 'can play there'. But they've proven to be utter shite and have been a major reason in the switch to 3 at the back. Simpson will hopefully get the boot and we'll get a competent right back so that when the 3-5-2 goes tits up (which it will at some point) we have a back-up plan.
Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 We could definitely do with a right back. De Laet's never totally convinced me and Simpson should be shown the door.
Gerard Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 If Pearson wants to play 3-4-1-2 as his stock formation then we don't need another RB and De Laet is decent enough to fill that role when required. It's pointless buying full backs if we rarely intend on playing a formation that requires them.

Maybe they're right, but I can't see any reason to think that. I think we're sorted for wing-backs, unless we're planning on using RDL as a backup centre half, in which case there'd be room for a backup RWB.
The other Ollie Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Good player, replaced Li Kwid Poo in the national team last year. I thought it was Stin Ky Shi Te he replaced...

Pearson will want us to be able to switch during a game. Otherwise, the opposition could come up with a tactical plan to stifle us and we need a plan B. unless you have the best players, (which we don't) , it's about versatility and not being too predictable.

I suppose, but in that case, we'll be looking for a wing back or a centre half first, who can also play as a full back.
Rusko187 Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Thought we were playing Albrighton as a wingback? He did exceptionally well, be really bad if he got replaced when I thought he was one of our stand-out players in our fightback.
AKCJ Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 If the club takes the same position as the fans of "Oh Albrighton was really good so we don't need a new right back/wing back" then we're destined for failure. We have to keep improving the squad.
ronnup Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Isn't it slightly insulting to say we HAVE to replace Albrighton when with him finally getting a regular spot in the starting team we had a run of games that put us on par with champions all over Europe ?
kingfox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 We don't need a bloody RB. If we get one then the likes of De Laet, Wasilewski & Fuchs might not even make the bench. Having De Laet & Albrighton as options is good enough.
Finn Claw II Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Assuming Simpson goes then we do need a right back, Albrighton is a winger, perhaps a wing back but not a right back. CM and CB are the priorities but a decent RB is a bonus
Blue Ed Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I would be happy with another RB...I know that we play with wing backs at the moment but the squad needs flexibility and at some point we'll need to change formation.
Guest Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 RB is our weakest decision. Luckliy Albrighton was a magnificent RWB
st albans fox Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Spurs listening to offers for kyle walker Injury prone for the price he will cost
Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 OK then, hypothetically we pick up 13 points from 5 games playing 4-2-3-1, then De Laet gets injured. What do we do?
