We are technically discussing players we have available for 2 positions: RB and RWB. At the moment we have De Laet, Albrighton and Simpson who can play there. The latter may yet be released. That gives us 2 players who can play in those positions to an effective first team level (that's being generous, as I don't see Albrighton being that good at RB).

Compared to the rest of the squad were we are going for 2 players per position that leaves us very thin on the ground in that area of the pitch. If Simpson stays, then a RB isn't a priority but shouldn't be an area we should neglect completely this window. If Simpson goes, then we do probably need another full back option.

OK then, hypothetically we pick up 13 points from 5 games playing 4-2-3-1, then De Laet gets injured. What do we do?

Precisely.

We don't have two good enough players for each position.

Bet Walker is on mad wages.

There's a reason Spurs have bought Trippier and binned him. I honestly think our scouts could drag someone better out.

Easy. We play with a back 3. Or stick a CB at RB.

However, I agree we need another RB, but it won't be our doom if we don't sign one.

I'd rather keep Simpson which says it all

OK, there's not rating Walker, but that's a bit too far lol

Always thought Walker was doggo, Spurs fans don't even rate him  - and Vardy made him look worse than doggo at their place.

They have Walker, Yedlin, and Tripper now, hard to see either of them really commanding a starting position

We don't need a bloody RB.

If we get one then the likes of De Laet, Wasilewski & Fuchs might not even make the bench.

Having De Laet & Albrighton as options is good enough.

Honestly, I was quite impressed with de laet when he filled in on the right cb of a back 3. Albrighton is a fantastic attack minded wing back. There's going to be some away games when we will NEED a more defensive minded wing back... I'd say there's space in our squad for a RB

Simpson, Moore, was, Albrighton.... Not great admittedly but other areas are priority

Simpson for me isn't good enough for the Premier League.

Liam Moore struggles enough in his own position at the minute, let alone at right back.

Wasilewski was absolutely horrendous at right back when we played him there although I appreciate that was actually considered to be his main position at Anderlecht for years.

Albrighton... it's not the same as wing back. It's similar if you're always on the front foot but we aren't. Saying that I do think we're looking more and more like a side who'll be playing more attacking full-backs so I wouldn't write it off completely.

That's rubbish, most spurs fans adored him. They are just trying to move up to the next gear, he would be more then good enough for us.

Walker is far, far, far better than RDL, whom I still think and will until he proves otherwise is shit. His anticipation of play is dreadful, and his distribution shocking. I'd like to see us bring a new RB in, whilst Albrighton was superb in our run in, I'd much rather see him playing in his natural position long term. I'd say we could do with a new RB.

If we continue playing wingbacks, albrighton seemed pretty natural to me.

I'd take him, massive upgrade on de laet.

Albrighton has played RB before for Villa. But yeah I agree and think we should probably bring in another RB. Was about to suggest looking at our youth team but we seem to have just got rid of our RB...

It all depends on Pearson's plans.

3-4-1-2 was highly successful for us last season, if this is our stock formation then we don't need another RB.

We have De Laet as a specialist, Albrighton and Wasalewski to do a job and Simpson might still be here.

We don't need a RB on the off chance we play four at the back AND De Laet gets injured.

Hope that was tongue in cheek

Few reports on Twitter that we have bid for Lee Tomlin.

Am I right in thinking he hates City? Didn't we release him as a kid?

Probably because he's the size of a bungalow.

We did release him ,he`s off the Saff, and a big Leicester Fan.

A very decent player at championship level.

Opposite he loves City and never hid the fact that he'd love to sign for us again.
