foxfanazer Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 12 months on from our promotion and survival achieved, so what have we learned? Any misconceptions you had about the Premier League that you now realise we're wrong? Is the standard higher or lower than you expected overall? For me I was surprised at how much of a gap there was between lower Prem and higher championship teams. The ability to grind out results is something we struggled with against the teams around us The players have definitely looked more top flight experienced recently
ScouseFox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I thought it'd be full of good teams and players. There's some absolute shite in this league.
AyewJoking Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 you can relax for 29 games as long as you do the business in the final 9.
foxfanazer Posted 25 May 2015 Author Posted 25 May 2015 you can relax for 29 games as long as you do the business in the final 9. Couldn't take another season like that. Definitely no good for your health supporting city
thebluefox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 That all the prem teams even the ones I thought weren't that good have at least one player who can do something a bit special to win a close game.
One Legged Beaver Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I thought the standard was pretty bad before we were in it, but after now watching it for a year I've learned that the quality is actually appalling and that was shown with teams like Newcastle and Sunderland surviving.
lcfcsnow Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I hope Pearson learned to never play cumbersome defenders at wing back in a back 5 ever again.
Strokes Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 The population of ostriches is much bigger than I had previously thought.
SpacedX Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 you can relax for 29 games as long as you do the business in the final 9. ...and then get hailed as a genius and a candidate for manager of the season.
Mark_w Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 The Premier League is more entertaining than the Championship, I was kidding myself for 10 years.
katieakita Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 However good you are on FM 15 or whatever the latest footie manager games are you don't know as much as Nigel Pearson.
st albans fox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Premier league defenders are much better than championship ones.
foxfanazer Posted 25 May 2015 Author Posted 25 May 2015 The standard is absolutely shiteDo you think it's just a one off though? To me it does seem like a particular poor season quality wise
cc_star Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Step up from the Championship is harder than I thought it would be, although I predicted 14th... I felt we could cruise to it and didn't realise just how hard we'd have to work for practically every minute of every game to get there. Fine margins indeed
yorkie1999 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 That its more important not to lose than it is to win. 38 games, no loses equals a minimum of 38 points. enough to survive
foxfanazer Posted 25 May 2015 Author Posted 25 May 2015 Every win is a milestone.Have to agree with this. I was surprised how different and more important a premier league win feels to a championship one.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Continue to trust that Nigel Pearson 'learns'. I thought he'd cocked it right up. As usual, I say so, cos I didn't trust him around Christmas time.
gerrytaggart Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Ive just learned that crayfishes bite really ******* hard.
Spudulike Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Premier League grounds are full of tourists. Most of which are like libraries.
Fox92 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 To not be scared of any team, even if it's the defending Champions. No defender likes being ran at, especially when it's the pace of Vardy at full speed. I think Pearson spent too much time trying to not lose, instead of trying to win, and we can't do that. Just go at teams. It's more entertaining to watch too.
