AKCJ Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Apart from Colback nobody in that Newcastle team gives a shit. The remind me so much of the dross we suffered between 04 and 09.
Donut Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 They hound out every manager eventually. They even gave Robson no end of grief, if I remember correctly. Kevin Keegan created the monster during the sexy football era. Nothing has come close to that and thats what they expect. But they dont have Ferdinand, Shearer, Asprilla, Ginola, Albert, Lee to give it to them
MC Prussian Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Seen from the outside, the problem with Newcastle appears to be a lack of cohesion and a lack of one or two (experienced) leader figures. It's as if Ashley told Shteve to shopping as ASDA and pick whatever he thinks looks best. Or a clueless McClaren fondling with a couple of highly flammable ingredients in a Chemistry class experiment.
Vacamion Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 I love the fact that any commentator or pundit talking about a fight back mentions Leicester. Can't see Newcastle "pulling a Leicester", though....
bovril Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Who's the next Geordie messiah then? Ant and Dec?
MC Prussian Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 West Ham 2-0 Newcastle Steve Claridge BBC Raido 5 live "I don't think the Newcastle players get what Steve McClaren is trying to do at the moment."
Donut Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Who's the next Geordie messiah then? Ant and Dec? The True Geordie? He talks a good game. I use the word talk loosely, i mean barely string a sentence together with 7 f words talk about the game.
foxfanazer Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 The True Geordie? He talks a good game. I use the word talk loosely, i mean barely string a sentence together with 7 f words talk about the game. Love the True Geordie. Proper geezer and always speaks highly of Leicester
Donut Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Love the True Geordie. Proper geezer and always speaks highly of Leicester I do feel his pain i must admit. Following a club that have had fantastic backing from the fans for so long, who have been given so little in return. And he does know his football too

AKCJ Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Newcastle will do what Villa did last season. Proper dross without ever really looking like going down. McLaren will get sacked in feb/march and they'll get a two or three wins with "soccer am friend of the show" Sam Allardyce in charge followed by a metaphorical media soggy biscuit with big sam's fat face being the rich tea. ala sherwood.
Leicesterpool Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Newcastle are awful, all there supporters that travelled to London on a Monday night to witness their team offer nothing. I was listening to the game on five live, they should call it the "West Ham luv in". It got so annoying how the commentators gush over the West Ham atmosphere.

Years of under-investment in the team, combined with an average (at best) manger.
JPM1983 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Allardyce aint managing Newcastle again. Didn't they sack Allardyce when they were 11th in the table thinking they should be higher up. They'd take 11th now.
Donut Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Didn't they sack Allardyce when they were 11th in the table thinking they should be higher up. They'd take 11th now. Allardyce has had a raw deal at every club he has been at with the exception of Bolton. A very good manager who at worst will stabilise your club and get good results.

They'd take 11th now. they were on an awful run I think and prior to that it was on a few years ago they qualified for the champions league
Finn Claw II Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 9 points ahead of Newcastle and Sunderland already. Remember worrying about their results at the back end of last season....
SpacedX Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 I was very pleased when Newcastle narrowly survived relegation last year. The Premiership would be unthinkable without the comic value that they have consistently brought us in recent years. Our own summer aside, the fact that McClaren replaced the absurd John Carver leaves me now convinced that the Premiership is actually coordinated in secret by a team of WWF scriptwriters. Aside from losing 2-0 away to the hammers last night, it seems the team bus got stuck in traffic at Canary Wharf and the entire squad was forced to walk the final mile and a half to Upton Park. I remember the Tigers playing away to London Irish and the kick off had to be delayed because the Underwood's were mired up at Hanger Lane - but the game was amateur status back then. Take nothing away from that bunch amateurs up on the Toon and their hapless neighbours though, their sole purpose is to be lampooned. They complain that they should be winning trophies - and they aren't - the entire club should be nominated for a Perrier Award. Actually, ditching the coach probably isn't such a bad idea in the long run.

To be fair, the atmosphere at West Ham really is good. As for Newcastle..The wally doesn't seem to be turning it around just yet does he. He should do..They have a far better squad than this time last year.

Wymsey Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 Feel sorry for Wilshere in needing another operation. Think he's one of those players that will always get something, and never really see their full potential unfortunately.
4ever and ever Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 No it's not. Agreed. They sing their bubbles song and then it is an absolute morgue for the rest of the half. They sing it again as they start the second half and again, silence!
Riot Van Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 Went to West Ham this season, last season and when we were both in the championship. Proper shite every time.
fuchsntf Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 Skys monday night football team, Carragher, especially Neville, as far as teams like Newcastle are concerned, hit the nail on the head... The PL clubs are making European clubs rich, and showing what poor businessmen the EPL owners are. Throwing 12-20+ mil, away while paying too much for avg European players. Newcastle have been paying over the odds for some years now, even Liverpool. Neville mentioned buying an avg player for even 11+ million, he believes is what is wrong with the British game. At 12+ he would expect something unique and more consistent, that changes a clubs potential, when you buy 3 to 4 in that bracket. Rightly he said, good British players are missing out to avg European players, bcos club owners wrongly believe, throwing that amount of money out gets you a top player. Newcastle ,Sunderland, even Liverpool being the best examples of not the 1-2 mil flops, but the 11+ flops. Great debate between him and Carragher. Makes Mahrez , Kante,(hopefully then Inlar +Fuchs) quite good finds. Stoke and Villa, wont struggle this year, their buys were also acceptable, if I havent missed something.
