Finn Claw II Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 Liverpool have spent something like £300m in the last 3.5 years (albeit with £200m or more coming in). Great players are hard to replace but the current team is pretty mediocre by liverpool's inflated standards. Coutinho and Sturridge (when fit) are great players but that is about it. They purchase 20-25 year olds in the hope of making them better players but for every Coutinho there is a Borini and an Aspas etc. They have a transfer committee but Rodgers must have some say in the style of player they want, the approach just feels scattergun. Playing Can at CB and not seeming to know his best 11 is on Rodgers. That said, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are all dross this season. Put a good run together and the top 4 is there for the taking.
EnderbyFox Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 Garth has gone with a particularly defensive line-up for this weeks TOTW.
CosbehFox Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 But who will get the chop, potentially there are a lot. As for the 12 year old Chelsea fan I hope his mum washes his mouth out with soap when he gets home and his dad makes him watch the Arsenal match. What a cvnt. Mind you, he has a point. But it's not just those two players. The whole team appears to have had a pre season medical procedure which removed all talent, desire and confidence. It is actually both painful and amusing to watch. Chelsea is real life Spacejam at the moment.
filbertway Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 There's YouTube accounts are worrying. Mouthpieces for people who want to be famous. But it's hilarious at the moment to see the top sides in meltdown every other week. Me and a Stoke fan tried describing to others in our office but how much more important a win feels to us. Losses are normal whereas it's an absolute bombshell and crisis when Chelsea or Man U lose a game. It's no different to when we were in League one though I suppose.
GeorgeTheFox Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 Garth has gone with a particularly defensive line-up for this weeks TOTW. he's really outdone himself with this one
RonnieTodger Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 Anyone else hear the cmicrophones at Goodison pick up random Everton fans shouting crap insults. "**** off Sturridge ya dickhead. Where's your mate Suarez now eh?!"
MC Prussian Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 I don't know how you lot see this, but whenever I hear of a club issuing a statement of confidence in and praise for a manager currently under scrutiny, regardless of whether his name is Mourinho or not, I quite quickly come to the conclusion that whatever content is being published only serves to appease the masses and that Mourinho is in fact close to getting the axe: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34446165

Donut Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 Garth has gone with a particularly defensive line-up for this weeks TOTW. So Garth in his wisdom picks Schlupp as a left sided centre back, Alexis Sanchez as a wing back and De Bruyne as a holding midfielder, and thinks the best formation to get anything out of anyof these misfits is a 3-3-1-3 with wingbacks or whatever that formation there is.

It's called the boat anchor formation and the last resort of all sinking ships. It'd be hilarious if some deluded club appointed Garth to manage their team.

It'd be hilarious if some deluded club appointed Garth to manage their team. I remember something similar last season by the end of Hull at home. Lawrence was playing RWB.
EnderbyFox Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 According to the ever reliable Daily Mail - Moyes, Allardyce and Dyche ( ) have all said no to the Sunderland job
weller54 Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 According to the ever reliable Daily Mail - Moyes, Allardyce and Dyche ( ) have all said no to the Sunderland job Preki?
AKCJ Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 Hopefully they offer it to Alan Shearer so we can all have a laugh, they can get relegated and he won't be on the tele.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 So nobody wants the Sunderland job, not surprising the expectations are unrealistic and the team they have isn't good enough to even stay up in my opinion... Guaranteed sacking by January for whoever that's the job

ealingfox Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 At least we've already played them at home so he won't be able to turn us over there as he inevitably would have done. (Before any 12 year olds jump all over this with any 'Messiah' bollocks this comment is more about our uncanny knack of being haunted by our exs than about Big Nige being a great manager)
Dan Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 Would wish him all the best just as long as it doesn't haunt us.
Stevosevic Posted 6 October 2015 Posted 6 October 2015 He'll take them down. He'll take them down. I think most managers who they could appoint would to be honest, this is their year to drop.
