The Doctor Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Bit of a myth sadly. Looked at their away form and their wins are... 0-1 at Stoke 0-1 at Norwich 0-1 at Villa 0-1 at Everton So four away wins, two against strugglers and two against sides who've blown games of that ilk all season. They did however get that point here, so you never know. I will be simply amazed if West Brom get anything from Spurs though. A team with nothing to play for, who aren't really that good, against this flying Spurs side. Resounding 3-0. Thinking more pulis sides in general - his Stoke side were spoilers, likewise his crystal palace side weren't bad at knicking results like vs chelsea and liverpool.
shen Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 It's become even more obvious this season than before that the officiating rules are much too vague. We've now seen countless handball/no handball incidents in the penalty area, not to mention diving, wrong red cards etc. A lot of them down to the rules not being clear or referees interpreting them wrongly. There needs to be a recording and a transcript of the officials exchanges during a match, which ideally should be released to the FA and the respective clubs. I don't think making them public would be wise though. I would like to see video refereeing too, but I can't see it happening as it would surely be too disruptive even if it was only for goal mouth incidents and red cars. It would also give the cameramen and video editors too much influence IMO.
MC Prussian Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Surprised nobody has mentioned the recent release of all Premier League clubs' wage bills yet: Top work by everyone involved - what an ROI! http://www.totalsportek.com/money/english-premier-league-wage-bills-club-by-club/

Resounding 3-0. tbf they've taken points off us, arsenal, Spurs, chelsea, united, liverpool, everton and West Ham this season. last week they were unlucky not to take something from man city away. they should obviously lose 4-0 and I assume they probably will lose 4-0 but it's not a walkover and onto the next one. as we saw with pulis in that game vs liverpool, he'd genuinely love nothing more than to ruin a title challenge for one of the "big boys".
AjcW Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 I posted this elsewhere last night but want to get some opinion here... I can't be the only one that despises Man City? Some points.... - Aside from De Bruyne/Aguero and maybe Hart/Kompany at times. They're just there for the pay check, I mean at times it makes me think, what makes them any better integrity/passion wise than Aston Villa players? - They had very few shots or attacks of note last night and one offside goal. It was a joke performance, they may as well have not been there! - I know a lot of their fans feel the same, just look at their last two away attendances! - As a team they turn up when they can be arsed, which usually tends to be against a fellow "big side" on the TV. - What is the point of having both Fernando & Fernandinho? Anyone know?? - Mangala is just horrendous... 30 million! - Don't even get me started on Yaya Toure, I hate every single thing about him, just a joke of a player, another who does nothing all game then gets plaudits for a 30 yard strike. Summed up for me when he scored the winning penalty in the League Cup and went off to celebrate on his own whilst his team celebrated with the match-winning goalkeeper and rightly so. Best of luck to Pep is all I can say!

ramboacdc Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 last time the title race was this close was 13/14 after 34 games liverpool had 77 points, chelsea 75 and man city 71 after 35 it was 80, 75, 74 its been chased down before.....worryingly.
Captain... Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 last time the title race was this close was 13/14 after 34 games liverpool had 77 points, chelsea 75 and man city 71 after 35 it was 80, 75, 74 its been chased down before.....worryingly. Man City had a game in hand on Liverpool and Liverpool had to play Chelsea, so it was only really 3 points behind with Liverpool having a much harder run in than we have. They "slipped up" against Chelsea and then threw it all away against Palace. We don't have to play a team as good as that Chelsea team, and we have a greater advantage over Spurs than Liverpool did over Man City.

Guest Col city fan Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 What a fvcking joke Newcastle are. Some amazing stats there. They show just how Villa, for instance, will have to offload a lot of their squad (if they can...) and that Newcastle are run appallingly (no surprise there). They also show just how well Bournemouth have done under Eddie Howe. This doesn't surprise me at all and it would have been interesting to see just how well they might have done if they had avoided the bad injuries they got near the start. Finally, the table again shows just how obscene some of these figures are AND how amazingly well we have done...though that didn't need saying. It will be interesting to see the effect our success has on us now we are 'big time' re. The wage bill? If we bring in any big names on bigger wages, the rest will want parity now.

Dan Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Playing devils advocate, colback didn't call the referee a c***. It's a slightly less personal attack telling someone to f off rather than f off you c. Very very thin margins tho..... It was the press reaction to Vardy that did him, I guess similar to Suarez when he bit people Technicalities like that are exactly the issue with this sport. Dissent is dissent. The fact the rules are so riddled with grey areas makes me suspicious. It's so easy to bend anything in one team or player's favour.
Donut Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 The laws of football need to be sorted out. Just get rid of interpretations and lets have some concrete facts. Is he active, is he not active? Its an interpretation. Im talking the marginal ones, im not talking silly ones where players are nowhere near the action or injured. Is his hand in a natural position? is it unnatural? Its an interpretation Is it a dive? is it a coming together? is it a card, is it play on? Is it grappling in the box? is it allowed? is it alright to let it go a couple of times and warn them like Sunday (ridiculous) Is it dissent or not? its a fact, if youve sworn at a referee, no matter what youve said it is aimed AT HIM. Just get some clarity in the laws for crying out loud. Is it any wonder we criticise refereeing on an almost game by game basis because two different referees can give two different decisions and both be right?? Why do phrases like "ive seen them given" even exist?!?!?! GREY AREAS

ARM1968 Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Carroll scores. The man who called Moss a cheat live on air, which he actually is of course. Wonder what his sanction will be.

deejdeej Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Lallana is shite.Agreed. Should be 1-0 he only had to square it and Firmino had an open goal.
MC Prussian Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Did West Ham trim down the size of their pitch or does that midfield seem overly congested?
