Bagworthblue Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 he came on at half time of the first game he was here for and was immediately the best player who has ever played for us? that got us our first win, then he bossed it and scored in a 5-3 win against united (remember that?). hardly a slow start..? it took him time to get started because we didn't sign him until the end of august. yeah good point, pre season has no meaning, players should just rock up the day before the 1st game to check if they are playing. I think you are deliberately looking to miss the point a bit here. Of course he arrived and looked a class above - He is a class above but my observation was that he got better still as the season went on, lasted longer in games and was able to play more regularly. The reason I am disappointed in him is that at no point to date has he been anything other than a perfect professional at Leicester, never acted like the big superstar, just one of the lads. Yes he keeps himself fit but pre-season is about the whole team getting back together, socially as much as anything, it's where the sports scientists work with you to regain that slight edge that you will have lost. It' where you meet the new guys and from his perspective, it's where the senior pros again start pushing and motivating the younger lads. it's where you start working in patterns again as part of a unit and not as an individual etc. I doubt many think more highly of him than me! I can't think of a player in all my years supporting the club that I would be more upset to see go. But equally, the lad needs to get to PST now and show them he is the model professional they know him as .... even if he does subsequently move on

It's probably from an insurance point of view. Not a Leicester player so can't go. If Cambiasso does is ACL whilst not under contract I'm sure he'd be eligable to a massive payout from Leicester rather than the PI insurers.
