Cambiasso to stay? It depends on the Mrs

I think we are placing to much value on the captains armband, It won't protect Wes & it won't entice Cambiasso back. Leaders will always lead regardless of title.

He's back from his break this week so all will be revealed, can we start this thread again.....

No news on Cambiasso no news on new manager.. the two most important things at the moment!

Not really changed what I said though did you?

Which actually makes it even worse if you consider flagrant favouritism over performance such a trivial issue.

yyou know something - I love the guy but am a bit disappointed in him. it took him some time to get started last season through missing pre-season and even if he ultimately decides to leave, he still needs to be fit and could have joined the lads whilst he sorts his future - oh well

I'm not. I think he'd be in Austria with the team right now if the club hadnt axed Nigel.

he came on at half time of the first game he was here for and was immediately the best player who has ever played for us? that got us our first win, then he bossed it and scored in a 5-3 win against united (remember that?).

hardly a slow start..? it took him time to get started because we didn't sign him until the end of august.

Imagine how good he would have been WITH a pre season!

I imagine 1000x better with a Leicester Pre-season in him, because all the champions league games, international games , cup finals would be nothing compared to a Football camp in Austria with NP and Shakey and Walshy.  :nigel:

Did Cambiasso get on with Pearson?  I seem to remember an interview with him regarding seeing out a game and how we didn't know how to do it.  It was an observation of the English game but I wonder if he just meant us.  Perhaps he was like "It's me or him, replace him with someone better and I'll stay - I need to see your ambition".

I haven't seen him quoted as saying that Pearson was the best manager he's ever had.

In fairness he has had some pretty good managers.

He made a reference to the rest of the squad, not Pearson. At Spurs when we equalised to make it 2-2, Cambiasso commented that we celebrated like we won the World Cup and ran around uncontrollably.

Never heard Esteban compliment Nigel in an interview - I'm sure at times he would have thought Pearson's decisions or techniques were baffling considering the managers he has worked with previously
