Cambiasso to stay? It depends on the Mrs

He's signed a 1 year contract. It's a new contract rather than an extension.

As posted elsewhere he was waiting for he manager situation to be sorted before formally agreeing the deal.

I think it's fair to assume that the owners 'big name' policy will begin to pay off with signing like this. We are targeting higher profile players now. Kante due to discuss/agree terms later this week. New bid for Austin next week.

All sounds great, may i be the first to ask (in the politest way) ......SOURCE? :)

New contract instead of an extension? Fair play to him. With the way he played and all the interested clubs he's probably had an increase in wages.

Thank god for that. Hopefully Kante gets sorted asap.

Interested by us doing another bid for Austin, surely can't be replacing Nugent? And doesn't Ranieri play 1 up front usually?

Will someone as consistently in the know as qwerty really tell you? He'd probably be out of a job!

Very interesting... together with Kante being quoted Ranieri is an important element. Bidding for Austin is slightly confusing though - unless we have a striker or two leaving. Thanks for the info!

Qwerty - was Esteban hoping to see better quality players come in also?

Yes

I don't know the full details but the owners are planning for Esteban to be heavily involved in the development of the club both in terms of players, coaching and marketing. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some sort of stake in club either going forward

I thought this would be the case. Thanks.

Cambiasso, Kanté, and potentially Austin? Wow. Are we intending to continue playing 3-5-2 as our signings seem to indicate or with Ranieri will we be playing something else?
