EnderbyFox Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 He's signed a 1 year contract. It's a new contract rather than an extension. As posted elsewhere he was waiting for he manager situation to be sorted before formally agreeing the deal. I think it's fair to assume that the owners 'big name' policy will begin to pay off with signing like this. We are targeting higher profile players now. Kante due to discuss/agree terms later this week. New bid for Austin next week.

MPH Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 New contract instead of an extension? Fair play to him. With the way he played and all the interested clubs he's probably had an increase in wages.

Interested by us doing another bid for Austin, surely can't be replacing Nugent? And doesn't Ranieri play 1 up front usually?
MPH Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 All sounds great, may i be the first to ask (in the politest way) ......SOURCE? Will someone as consistently in the know as qwerty really tell you? He'd probably be out of a job!

Bidding for Austin is slightly confusing though - unless we have a striker or two leaving. Thanks for the info!
Stevosevic Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Qwerty - was Esteban hoping to see better quality players come in also?

6ups 6downs 2 cups Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 This is such am important signing, players already here clearly listen to Cambiasso, helps settle a few nerves, and if this helps bring in extra quality then my initial scepticism about CR may be misplaced.
whoareyaaa Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 I feel the same mate. Speechless. Great second post.
qwerty123 Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Qwerty - was Esteban hoping to see better quality players come in also? Yes I don't know the full details but the owners are planning for Esteban to be heavily involved in the development of the club both in terms of players, coaching and marketing. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some sort of stake in club either going forward

benpicko Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Cambiasso, Kanté, and potentially Austin? Wow. Are we intending to continue playing 3-5-2 as our signings seem to indicate or with Ranieri will we be playing something else?
foxholecharlie Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 This is great news, off on hols tomorrow, glad it's been sorted before I go.
