my brother sent me the text about Pearson being sacked - thought he was winding me up and was referring to his son.

What a twat - my brother AND James Pearson!

Klopp is not remotely realistic, anybody seriously suggesting him is making himself look stupid.

Worst moment you've witnessed in clubs history, how old are you? I'm very thankful for everything Nigel did, especially getting us out of the shit ( which he has to share responsibility for putting us in) he was a great servant of the club. Personally he was becoming to unpredictable and I can see why they may feel it's right to move on

I don't feel like I need to talk to someone who's trying to defend this decision. Let me know when you've realised that I'm right and you're wrong.

I don't blame the owners or Nige, both obviously sticking to their principles.

I blame his ****wit of a shit footballing son

It's a big assumption that he, rather than owners who supposedly showed Sousa around the stadium while Nige was still in charge last time, or who clearly were behind the drive to buy more Asian players (like Okazaki), was responsible.

That said, a lot of us maintained that the Pearson jnr. business needed handling sensitively. If it was then it couldn't possibly have been a problem. If it wasn't, then that also points towards our owners.

I suspect Southampton fans reacted in a similar way when Adkins was fired. People need to look at the future. The owners want success and are prepared to invest for that success to happen relatively quickly. There are some good managers available at the moment, be it hiddink, allardyce or maybe even Cambiasso....

There is a lot of love for NP, however change in life is necessary to progress sometimes. This will be a good thing for the club in the long run.

Leicester City have sacked manager Nigel Pearson, with the club saying the working relationship between Pearson and the board was "no longer viable".

Pearson, 51, guided the Foxes to 14th in the Premier League in 2014-15.

"Regrettably, the club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the board is no longer viable," said a Leicester statement.

"It has become clear that fundamental differences in perspective exist between us."

He first became manager of Leicester in June 2008 but left two years later to take over at Hull before returning to the Foxes in November 2011 with the club in the second tier of English football.

They clinched the Championship title in 2013-14 and won seven and drew one of their last 10 games last season to secure Premier League survival.

The Leicester statement, which thanked Pearson and "wished him well", added: "The board of directors recognises the success Nigel has helped to bring to Leicester City during his two spells in charge, particularly during the last three-and-a-half years.

"We trust that the supporters will recognise that the owners have always acted with the best interests of the club at heart and with the long-term future as their greatest priority."

In June, Pearson's son James was one of three players sacked by the club for their involvement in a racist sex tape, although it is not yet known whether that decision had any impact on Nigel Pearson leaving the club.

Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh will take charge of first-team duties while the club begins its recruitment of a new manager, before the new season starts on 8 August.

Lets be realistic.  Pearson was not capable at this flight.  Preforming a miracle does not mean he is that good.  He somehow unfvcked the season at the end which I love, however for the whole year he was pretty much dire, in the game and out.  I have always been unsure of Pearson in the premiership; many others did a while ago too.  Something is in the works for sure.

A lot of people slamming the owners.  Lets remember that these owners have not made many bad decisions.  They have done an unbelievable job and have never done us over.  I trust them more than Pearson.  Can hardly be a rushed decision, how long did they take to sack the 3 players caught up in the scandal?  They are a calculated group and I think if they made this call, we ought to wait for more official information before we rush to the "i want a refund" posts.  Something happened and I believe it has been in the works for some time.  Lets wait and find out, the owners deserve that much at least.

he would be dreadful for this job anyway

Well he wouldn't be. He's one of the top 5 managers in Europe I'm sure he could keep us up

Disturbing if it's knee jerk, even more disturbing is their previous appointments. This is a very attractive job and I hope we can get someone to take us to the next level like Southampton and Swansea did twice.

Sounds a lot like the words of a man who was disappointed when Nigel proved him wrong last season.

It's really not that 'weird' or 'surprising' really is it. Football is so much about PR these days, the run of results disguised what had been, for the most part, a slightly bizarre season from NP. I'm not saying I'm happy I'm sacked, just that his position seemed tenuous at best all season.

It's the timing that's weird and surprising - go back three months and huge portion of our fans wanted him gone. The owners stuck by him through the FOAD, McArthur and ostrich incidents and the tragic run of form. He then guides us to 14th, signs Fuchs, Huth and Okazaki and then we sack him? It's ****ing bizarre.

All of our players were Nigel's players, they all worked well together.

We're probably going to get some tosser come in and switch it all up.

we'd give him an open cheque book, he's quite proven for signing utter tat. Needs a good board of directors, which we don't have.

Rob Dorsett on SSN just said there was increasing hostility between Nigel and the Board following the sacking of James Pearson. If true, then can't believe how badly a celebratory trip to Thailand has so spectacularly backfired.
