Dickov22 Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Be absolutely gutted if Hiddink gets the job. He won't know any of our players bar Cambiasso, his record for the last few years is diabolical. He's a total has been and I can't believe after Sven the owners would be so stupid again. I
CosbehFox Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 'Consultancy role' with a younger coach aka doomed to fail.
biggs Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Huth's arrival, Albrighton finally getting into the team after nearly being completely frozen out for no reason whatsoever, the obvious improvement in form that helped Ulloa achieve (remember the old, Ulloa off Albrighton on days what the hell was Pearson doing). Vardy coming back into form with the backing of a tremendous crowd. Those are the reasons we stayed up. We still have all of those players Maybe the crowd should manage the team under a consensus voting system attached to seats in the stadium. Who do you think brought Huth into the mix??? Can't believe myself NP not getting it perfect right away!!!

I suspect he knows who kasper, Huth and Fuchs are.
NewquayFox Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Whoever comes in will have a strong group of Lads to work with, just hope that none of our squad get poached amidst the turmoil.... Up the City

Well I'm glad he won't be signing any more players for Leicester then.

Legend_in_blue Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 To all Pearson admirers... Who had more influence over our style of play, mentality on the pitch and the final outcome of the last 10 games of last season - Pearson or Cambiasso? And yes, we were awful for months last season. But we went for it, just as we did in the championship when NP had no choice, an all or nothing approach which ultimately paid off.
SpacedX Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 That's because of a few things, initially. Firstly, Pearson didn't know where to put Schlupp; when he was in defence he was as poor as Konchesky has been. He also tinkered with putting Nugent out wide, and putting De Laet too far up front. Once Nigel sorted what his best team was, we've performed well; and the performances in the last 10 games showed. ???? That simple eh? - and that's all that was wrong. Schlupp was initially moved from LW to LB as cover having played there the season before and then to WB. There was a myriad of mistakes based around utterly bewildering selections, substitutions, formations, general strategy and tactics. "Once Nigel sorted out what his best team was" - shouldn't he have identified that earlier? The Premiership is unforgiving - you don't have time, either as a player or a manager...something that took us perilously close to going straight back down. People are so quick to overlook that a squad with so much attacking potential was languishing at the bottom of the table for the majority of a season that promised so much more. Completely agree with Col's post bar the fact that I'm not convinced that Nigel actually did 'learn anything' - and though I accept that he commanded the respect of the players (which I concede is crucial) - I don't think he was that instrumental in orchestrating the great escape either. However, I do accept that if you are to indict him for poor performances, then he should also be credited for the successes. In addition to this - far from raising our stock, he reduced us to the laughing stock of the football league. So much hatred directed at Dyche on here yet most are oblivious to the perception of this club under the stewardship of Nigel Pearson. This was inevitable, I wish him well, and am grateful for what he did achieve, but the premiership starkly exposed his limitations. The timing of this is appalling, clearly it was felt his position was untenable - but that has been debated to death. I'm not confident that the club can find a viable replacement and bar the negligible chance of Di Matteo, I am frankly terrified by the list of protagonists.

Anzhi was a really weird situation and the club before that was Chelsea where he did amazingly well in a short space of time and was begged to take it on full time.
Mark_w Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 To all Pearson admirers... Who had more influence over our style of play, mentality on the pitch and the final outcome of the last 10 games of last season - Pearson or Cambiasso? Nigel Pearson. You've got to be very, very silly or absolutely stupid to ask a question like that.
KFS Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Can people staying Sven mk2 tell me how managing a Saturday 3pm at Norwich resembles a Tuesday night in Barnsley where the pitch is rough and players kick lumps out of you? Got a feeling this would work

So if he went for it in the Championship (when Cambiasso wasn't around) and it worked, it would seem logical he'd try it again
Bamba's Babes Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 People turning their nose up at Gus Hiddink? Hahaha
jimmeh Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Would we be in the prem without Schmeichel and nugent? Who signed them People turning their nose up at Gus Hiddink? Hahaha I know. It's embarrassing.

Pearson choosing 3-5-2 as our formation therefore allowing our attackers to flourish. Cambiasso provided a good balance in the middle of the park. He never grabbed a game by the neck; that all came from the forwards.

jimmeh Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Pearson is God. He is the only manager In the world who is any good.

Legend_in_blue Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 All i am suggesting is that he wasn't as influential as some people believe or make him out to be in terms of the results in the final run in of games.
jimmeh Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Along with Beckford, Mills and Danns. Would a top manager persist with an underperforming player because he's the captain?
jimmeh Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Pearson's no Steve Cotterill, that's for sure. Pearson is God. No manager in the world compares to him. Were going down
