Who's Romeu?

Some people are never happy. We might, and I stress the word "might" be signing a young player who came through the ranks at Barcelona and has been deemed good enough by Chelsea to be given a new contract and he plays in a position we need strengthening in, and some ****ers are moaning because it's only on loan. Even if, as reports suggest, it is a loan with a view to a permanent deal.

These same people would be moaning, saying this is exactly the type of player we should be signing, if he went to Stoke, or West Brom, or Villla etc.

I suppose these people think it was a disgrace that we signed Powell on loan last season and didn't sign him permanently.

Twats, every one of you!

:D told you James was more effective than King, add defensive stats to that though & it will prove that King does a bloody good job at grafting.

James took about a bazillion corners, it's not a fair comparison at all.

That said they do have it stripped out on who scored and even stripping out set pieces it's not particularly close. Says he made 22 crosses (not including corners) which seems mad.

I don't know why we just don't swallow our pride and get Wellens back..

Only if he brings his best mate Gally back with him.

Will Chelsea do business with us though?

If Leicester want him permanently, and he is interested in the move, I can't imagine Chelsea would object to the move.

I guess there is always the likelihood of him having a stormer on loan, increasing his value and then being sold to a team like Sevilla for £15m, but as it stands, not many would bet on that happening, so the pathway is clear for Leicester to get him on a permanent basis.

The irony. There's nothing wrong with what I said.

Rock solid player, seems to have got over a few injuries earlier in his career but it sounds like he did well in Germany in a few different ways. I'd compare him to having the potential of N'Zonzi, maybe not as dominant but a better attitude if dealt with right.

It'd be a risk worth taking imo, if he wants out and theyre after under £5m I'd go in immediately. Could be a bollocks link though, the 'Ranieri needs help from old club' line seems to be eager journalism, much like the eager few on here looking to jump on anyones back because they miss poor ol' multimillionaire Nigel - He did well, we move on now, embrace it

Romeu is twice the player any of our current MF are, he will more than likely end up at a bigger club anyway.

I'm not sure about that. Could be potentially but when was the last time you watched him?

"Ake has been good in Holland on loan but never really seen him at Chelsea, has been a prospect for a long time and plays in a lot of positions. Romaeu was good when he came to us from Barcelona B. Was on loan in bundles liga last year and I think had mixed season. Played well and reliable but got serious injury."

In case of interest, some info from a Chelsea supporting friend.

I don't get the bumming of this guy?mhe hasn't featured for Chelsea for years and had a pretty average loan spell last season. I swear you lot only look at names over form and ability to improve our squad! .

Thought this'd be a thread about Romeu LUKAKU coming on loan. lol

Don't think he's any better than what we've got anyway, seriously.

couple of years old but gives a decent look at him Oriol Romeu - Scouting Report | by Rule14 |:

After watching this video, I kind of think he is a better version of Drinkwater with the way he plays. Which is good in some ways as it'll improve us, but we'll then have 4 midfielders very similar. Is his the right way to go? I think we need a midfielder that has a bit of flare, that drives forward as I think that is what we were missing last season. Not enough goals from the middle. But wouldn't be disappointed if we get him as he looks quality upgrade from what we've got, just think we need to look at a different type of player

Just compared him with our current lot. Didnt really do anything impressive last season, created a massive 5 or so chances in 27 games.

Did the same earlier, good passer & likes to pass forward, good at intercepting passes something which Cambiasso excelled in.

Don't expect him to drive forward & create chances because he isn't that type of player, was quite surprised though to see that he has poor tackling stats.

Don't get all the anti loan deal nonsense in here as they are good for teams like us to get players who may not necessarily join us permanently and also protect us from some risk.

Loan with view to a permanent move would be the best option as if he turns out no good, we just send him back and lose out on wages and loan fee and if he turns out good, we have first option at the pre-agreed price.

Buying however, yes he may turn out to be amazing and quadruple in value in 12-months but there is just as much, if not more, chance he turns out very average, we go down and are then left with a player on a long contract and will also be on very big wages considering where he's been before.

I don't think we'll go down this year but we still have to be mindful that it is a possibility as we don't want to have to return to the dark days of admin and only being able to sign players willing to play for free!
