Legend_in_blue Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 Yes, he came across very well again tonight on the radio. Appears far more approachable and open. Saying the right things is all well and good but he needs to put them into action. He needs 3 CMs quickly, they need to be the right kind of player for that position also, something he eluded to on the radio. Still, tough ask - but let's see what he can do.
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 I think Cambiasso leaving has nothing to do with Ranieri. Just another stick to beat the new manager with and to drool over he who I can't mention. Ranieri has come across superbly well in every interview I've heard him give so far. He's been fair, balanced, complimentary and positive.
Donut Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 Ranieri will not be given any kind of chance here. Thats the reality. He is not Nigel Pearson, and thats the end of the matter for most people.
Corky Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 Ranieri will not be given any kind of chance here. Thats the reality. He is not Nigel Pearson, and thats the end of the matter for most people. Who by? The fans will give him a chance, the press and ex-players have been the most vocal about their displeasure with this decision. You seem to make out that Pearson was 100% loved by all the fans, especially matchgoing, which wasn't the case. Win the first game, play well and the fans will be chanting his name and applauding him at full time.

This, people will always be looking for a reason to bring Pearson up and tell us how Pearson would have done it better... Cambiasso doesn't renew, so it can only be Ranieri's fault... I'm pretty sure that it isn't, and he wouldn't have signed had Pearson still been here

I loved NP as our manager and I hate the fact his time was cut short, but that does not mean I won't support the new manager! as if he fails so does the club I love
crisp packet Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 I admit he has a big job on his hands to get every one on side. The whole county was buzzing after the season finished. N.p sacking then fans favourite Cambissio leaving. Whole city needs a lift . I still believe a major factor in survival was the k.p rocking at the end of last season. We need to back the boys again this year, any negativity it will be a long year....! This is why a big name manager was a must, to raise the profile of the club and bring in better quality! Over to you Claudio.
enmac Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Not sure if you're being serious but if Nigel lasted one whole season with us playing awfully nearly every week, then I think Ranieri will get longer than October.I think this was a reference to Mike Calvin- journo on Talksport on Sunday. He was about to say September and then stated October. He also said that lcfc are not a "natural" premier league club. Also that Dyche would have been a better choice!

Did Ranieri say he needed 3 more centre midfielders or have I miss read?
enmac Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Don't know, but 3 mf players are needed, imo. Unless we get 2 exceptional. Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk

This is what makes me laugh with these journo's, they criticise a manager who's managed top European teams at the top of various leagues and say he'll get us relegated then in the same breath suggest people like dyche and Lennon.

jimmeh Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Was at the under 21 game tonight and spoke to all the players before the game. And told them that he will give players an opportunity. And that when he was at Chelsea he was the one who gave John Terry a chance
Mickyblueeyes Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 In terms of what he has done in his career - he quite simply should have more of an achievement list than he has. That is me looking at it objectively. While the juries out with me as to whether he is a step in the right direction. I do not agree with this constant bullshit being spouted in the media that he seems a quirky appointment similar to Sven. Sven came in and immediately rubbished the first team sque (baring Wellens and Gallagher). He dismantled a team spirit built up over two years showed no structure to his madness and spent money as if it was like splashing water. Ranieri has come in - researched the team albeit researching a Prem team is easier than one in the champ and recognised the importantance of maintaining the team spirit. The initial sounds coming out of him (no pun intended) are the right ones. He seems he is here to build. Get him some midfielders and we could be quite descent to watch again this year.

That's interesting because we had a poll on this matter not too long ago. 462 FT members voted to back him vs 9 who didn't. 1.91% of the forum don't want to give him a chance and you're making out like you're some wisened, oppressed minority with open minds. Go have a cup of tea and calm down, the knives aren't out yet.
TJB-fox Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Really starting to warm to Ranieri, making all the right statements of intent. Heres hoping the Pearson sacking was a blessing in diguise
