Gerard Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Mateo Kovačić I'd love us to sign someone in this mould. He went to Inter at 19 for €15m and is now 21 with 80 games for them. It would be great if we could sign top young talent and develop it here as we can never sign top class players. South America is also a market we need to scout intensively as I'm quite sure we've never done a transfer deal with a South American club.

chapero82 Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Latest from Di Marzio suggests Inler is leaning towards Schalke. He has been messing us around for weeks now
Tuna Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Latest from Di Marzio suggests Inler is leaning towards Schalke. Well **** him then.
lgfualol Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Hope he gets stuck at Napoli and never plays again.
chapero82 Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 I thought they pulled out? I showed a quote earlier saying they had not but was shot down and told I was wrong
dbtcity Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 If we miss out on inler as well I hope we go for somebody who actually wants to join us instead of punching above our weight trying to compete with cl teams, it's becoming a bit of a farce
MC Prussian Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 I showed a quote earlier saying they had not but was shot down and told I was wrong As long as you stick to Amoyal, who might as well just be playing tricks on you.
Brainy Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Pretty sure he repeatedly said it looked like he'd be heading here a week ago
chapero82 Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 As long as you stick to Amoyal, who might as well just be playing tricks on you. He's part of the Di Marzio team, Shalke themselves have said they think he will sign tgere as they have an agreement in place already! It's another Aranguiz situation all over again

It's another Aranguiz situation all over again Other credible source, not to be dismissed: http://www.thesirenssong.com/calciomercato-napoli-transfer-rumors/2015/8/11/9130825/transfer-rumor-gokhan-inler-leicester-city-deal-besiktas-west-ham That after Schalke talked themselves out of the race: http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-s-search-players-right-transfer/story-27586898-detail/story.html But in the end, it's all just pure speculation and it'll keep us all on our toes for a few more days.
enmac Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 We either get a veteran with one year left at a high level, a nugget youngster from a lower league or a misfit. Looks like we're wasting time with established stars. Face facts- it's never been any different at City. Weller- misfit at Chelsea. McAllistair- youngster at Elgin City(?) Cambiasso-vet. This is the way to go until we've been in the PL for 5+ years.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Never seen a man so arsed and tetchy about transfers than chapero82

dylanlegend Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 At the moment I see no reason to drop King or Drinky. I really think this is the season for DD to step up and show he can boss the midfield for us (remember the championship year we were all saying he should be in the England team). I hope we don't just get another MF for the sake of it. Not fussed about Inler, haven't seen him play much but when I have didn't think "wow" he's a good player. Sometimes people are blindsided by a 'big name' but I think we'd be disappointed... He certainly ain't in the same league as Cambi
mozartfox Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Latest from Di Marzio suggests Inler is leaning towards Schalke. Hang on. If he is still in Italy and learning towards Schalke, then technically Leicester also lies to West of him. So he is also learning toward us, is he not?
st albans fox Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Hang on. If he is still in Italy and learning towards Schalke, then technically Leicester also lies to West of him. So he is also learning toward us, is he not? You will have lost most of them with that post MF When you look back a year, EC did wait till the end of the window to sign. He was hardly in a rush to do so. these higher profile names are always going to view us as the last resort until we are established top half PL side. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to sign them but we need to accept that their coming here will be the exception and we should expect to be knocked back. ambition is one thing but it isn't everything. We need to find some squad depth for the midfield - urgently. I see joey is still available...........
srbfox Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Italian link. Final post from me until it's done. Too many idiots on here. Mancini is coming home!
Fox 4 Life Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Barton no longer joining West Ham so they might make more of a push for Inler. Sounds like Schalke are the main worry though
dpjfox Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 latest ive read is Schalke given 24 hours to match our offer or Inler signs for us, yet another drawn out messy transfer deal
