From that youtube video his positioning in most clips looks like he's playing cb

Those clips are from his Djurgårdens IF days. At FC Copenhagen he's predominantly played central midfield. But yes, he can play both.

I thought he is being used as a CB mostly?  Seems he can play CB or DM so someone we need.  We don't really have a John Obi Mikel type of Player as Inler, Kante DD and King play more in a forward roll.  Matt James and Hammond I guess are the closest we have to this type.  Good cover to our monsters at the back like Wes, Huth, Was and Yohane.  He would also be useful in guarding really fast forwards as an alternative to our traditional CB's.

Teams need depth and a mix of youth and experience, so he fits our needs.  Seems like a perfect option for us from what you read.

Imagine a formation of 2-1-4-1-2 we'd be pioneers of football.

For the national side, yes. At club level he plays central midfield.

At 20 he can be carved into a new position like right back.

He certainly has the attribute as he know how to defend as he can play centre half and he obviously has qualities on the ball as he plays centre midfield. We've seen him run like a gazelle and he looks athletic but not too bulky which should mean he probably has the stamina to play right back.

You'll find a lot of young gifted players playing at an inferior standard to their abilities are played further up the pitch or more important roles as you want to utilise your best players in the more important positions. No one wants their best player at right back, at bit like why Schlupp at 18 was playing centre forward.

Only 87 pages to go (plus the obligatory bid from a Bundesliga Team), then he is ours!

A player able to play both CB / CM worries me ..... The only player I've seen previously claim this was Kisnorbo!

Javier Mascherano?

Has he signed yet. I've heard its a done deal? I've heard its almost real. We got him for a bit of a steal.

Can't be true. Not enough pages.

This is beautiful

Bruno Berner could, and did well at both positions even though they were his 2nd and 3rd-best positions.

Desailly, Beckenbauer.... Um... Carrick? Err... Daley Blind seems ok there

At least Ranieri recognises our history in the League Cup and seems to be relishing the idea of a cup run. Let's hope it's reflected on the field and that a few players take their chance to get noticed.
