The owners said we would be in the top 5 within 3-5 years... well we look to be achieving that, the title challenge is on.

lol

Fair play to them for booing some of their players today

The fans never wanted Mourinho gone, going to be hard for them when he takes charge at Man U

The final angle of the Vardy foul looked like he dropped his foot against Howard - you're not forced to agree with me, and I'm not complaining either. But I think if Barkley had done that our reaction might be a little different :)

Seen these loads, and when they go against I still say it is a blatant foul, the keeper had rushed out and got beaten to the ball and Vardy pushes the ball past... they are always penalties...

Ah, the non-existant Harry Kane loan spell at Southampton.

I've been saying for years Motty needs putting out of his misery. He awful. If he can't even get his facts right, then there's nothing left for him at all as a commentator.

I guess so. It's part of the game now I'm not fond of.......the keeper has to come out and challenge, it's very hard for him to win that situation. Much like people tackling man and ball, which used to be just normal. Now it's an auto foul.

Keepers get plenty of protection, when they punch the ball clear they often take the man too. If you dive in at the attacker's feet and don't win the ball it's a foul, same as an outfield player.

Sunderland defence terrible. Just let Oscar stroll into the box.

That defending wouldn't have flattered a kickabout team on Viccy Park.  Can't say united looked impressive defensively either and as for Rooney he spent more time on his arse than a sculler and looked as sharp a shooter as a bloke with a popgun.

remember when i got told "i know nothing about football" because i said coates was a shitjob and id be disgraced if we signed him lmao

I expect a penalty...get to watch if you can, the last 40yrs, the GK doesnt commit his body to smother, like before.

S.Americans, and good Italians started to use the length of their arms more. Some out of fear, some were good.

Clemence, Jennings, Shilton eras were the first when I noticed more of it.A few others over the years made it an art,

but it does seem, the art of using the middle of the body to smother when coming out has gone and positioning

your body with arms stretched, where control can easily be lost, is more the vogue. That said it might give

the GK more flexability, in his diving postions...though some do tend to dive over the ball, on their bad days.

It is hard for goalkeepers in that situation but that doesn't mean we should suspend the rules to make it easier for them. If keepers come out to claim the ball as a last resort they have to take the ball if they make contact with the player or it's a foul. Sure it's difficult but those are the rules.

I swear vardy was about vertical by the time Howard actually touched him haha. Vardy's an absolute boss at buying pens though, he looks so convincing in real time that he will win them more often than not. There was a bit of contact in the end, so everyone can claim it was a stone waller.

most blatant pen/red card combo i've probably ever seen

Both were penalties, just poor defending from Everton though the conditions were not very good.

The real shocker for me was the Shinji goal because it came from an Everton throw in, such lazy poor defending, either they were tiring or just getting complacent.

If it was an outfield player with the same challenge anywhere else on the field it's a foul. Both penalties were absolute stonewallers! Can't believe people are even suggesting it's not.

Posted

It was a red card and he should of been sent off but not before being publically flogged in the centre circle first! Not quite as balanced but ffs of course it was a penalty.

100% correct decision on both for me. Were definitely both penalties and I think a yellow was right as well. Vards was going away from goal and looked like he might not even be able to keep the ball in play

At the time I thought the ball was going really fast and was pretty much out of play before Vardy hit the ground, so the ref got it bang on.

Watching motd though it looks like I'd seen it wrong, and it's hard to argue that Vardy wouldn't have got to it. Maybe a red would've been justified. Tbh it probably would have done us more harm than good if he'd gone lol
