whoareyaaa Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 The worst ever pundit/presenter award has to go to John Barnes from his channel 5 Europa league days, just unbearable.
Master Fox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Says "was" instead of "were" at any given opportunity.
AKCJ Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Murphy is a great pundit imo. He's like Neville in that he's very good at being a straight talking pundit but he's very boring. I think Neville is as close as you're going to get to someone who is entertaining and insightful.... if I had to pick I would choose to be entertained than lectured though.
RedSoxUK Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 If I was a woman, I'd hate this. If I was invited onto a BBC panel show, I'd always be wondering whether I'd earnt the job, or whether I was only there to fill a quota. The vast majority of comedians in this country are men, so when you're picking only 2-4 people to appear on a TV show, it's going to be men nearly every time. Is there anything wrong with that? Is it fair to always pick a woman, when they make up a tiny fraction of all comedians? Let's say comedians are 90% men (I think it's probably much higher than that). If you were hiring without prejudice, then panel shows would have a woman on about once every 3 or 4 episodes, depending on how many guests the show has. Have I Got News for You only has two guests, so 50% of them will be women. How is it a fair reflection of the comedy scene to have equal numbers or male and female guests when male comedians make up nearly the entire scene? The BBC's policy means that if you're a woman and a comedian, then you don't have to be good at what you do - you'll get work no matter how bad you are. You're referring to affirmative action, and it's a big big subject but probably not applicable to discussing how shit of a pundit Jermain Jenas is, he's a shit pundit, just as shit as the majority of them; we're playing a season where 75% of sports journalists and writers have written our chances of survival off because we have signed Claudio Ranieri as manager, although the same 75% would probably agree that if we didn't have Claudio Ranieri, we would survive. Expect idiocy.
GaelicFox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Absolutely slated us on Radio 5 on Sunday afternoon saying we are doomed, watch him squirming on MOTD 2 after their piece on City, horrible creepy bloke with an annoying voice, how he ever got a job as a pundit is beyond me as all he does is state the bleedin obvious then sits back with his smug face.... Up the City.... Quotas
shen Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 People keep saying one pundit is worse than the next. Are there any good pundits out there, and if so, who are they?
MPH Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 If he was white he wouldn't get to be a pundit. BBC logic for you So who's got the family brain cell today? Because you clearly havnt...
JPM1983 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 People keep saying one pundit is worse than the next. Are there any good pundits out there, and if so, who are they? Gary Neville. Jamie Carragher. Souness isn't bad.
Raw Dykes Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 So who's got the family brain cell today? Because you clearly havnt... It's not as stupid as you think. The BBC have said they won't be making all-male panel shows now. Why wouldn't they do the same with race?

city187 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Let the little camp forest fan have his opinion. He watched most of his career pass by him on the physio couch anyway.
ChrisFilter Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Isn't it called positive discrimination? Yes, and it's there for a very good reason. Just like the Rooney Rule. Centuries of oppression needs affirmative action to undo. Does that occasionally mean less well qualified people end up in key roles? Of course. But it's the lesser of two evils by some distance. The usual chorus of bigots will dress their arguments up as being founded in the belief in a meritocracy, but we can't have a true meritocracy until the playing field is levelled.

Preaching to the converted matey. Anyway, back to business. Jenas as a pundit is poorer than most on the BBC.
kingcarr21 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 The fact that Jenas rhymes with Penis makes him a massive COCK
Webbo Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 I hoped now that the season had started we wouldn't have anymore of these pointless, bullshit threads.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 We really do have such a precious fanbase don't we christ
city187 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 We really do have such a precious fanbase don't we christ "Christ" i am religious and i find that deeply offensive. Lets debate back and fourth over how im right and your wrong for page after fooking page.
ChrisFilter Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 We really do have such a precious fanbase don't we christ There's being precious, and then there's a basic "don't be a ****" mentality.
justfoxes Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Who cares what that little extra from the hobbit has to say about us he's a tool and a complete fooking Knob !! Wasn't he the one who had a punch up with his own team mate when he was at Newcastle ?
Matt Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Also kept calling Okazaki "Uzaki" iirc I honestly don't understand how people find it such a challenging name to pronounce. I heard several people on RL after the match struggling to say his name, I watched 'the best bits' of Soccer Saturday and I can't remember if it was Merson or Phil Thompson but they had 'Hockey Sack He' wrote down so they could remember how to say it right, and now you've noted this pronunciation. Now Benalouane or even Kante to an extent I can understand confusion over pronunciation but Okazaki, it's pretty fucking simple name to say.
