Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Adam Smith, where on that casino footage did Vardy call anyone anything that is indisputably racist, whilst having his arsehole licked by a prostitute in accommodation laid on by the club? Yeah... Not really the same thing at all is it. Don't think he sent that video to his mates as a brag either
The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Don't think you can blame Smith for being a bit pissed, as he wasn't the one who was racist but meh.
Xen Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 https://twitter.com/adamsmith_1/status/631876878459080708 scenes Drunk footballer has a bit of a (potentially racist ) rant in a casino, during his free time. Quickly apologises. Trio of footballers partake in orgy while representing the club in Thailand, and film it for the world to see. Oh, and far worse language than what JV used was being thrown about. The lads a bit of a **** if he thinks the two incidents are remotely comparable...
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 That Adam Smith tweet has made my blood boil. You would think he would be keeping his head down as well. He's either doing it for the nibbles (he's succeeded if he is), or he is absolutely deluded.
Merging Cultures Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Adam Smith is deluded. Very different situations.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 To be honest I think the people saying it's double standards have got a point. If we're talking about the racist slur alone then what's the difference? The only material differences between the two situations are the activities the respective players were doing at the time, so if the argument is about whether or not gambling & drinking is worse and more damaging to the club than engaging in some sex acts with what may or may not be a hooker, I don't think that debate is as clear-cut as some people seem to think. Be real people come on, Vardy wasn't sacked because he is currently valuable to the team. The other 3 were nobodies and very easy to make an example out of. Why anybody would pretend this isn't the case I don't know.

They are different situations and even so, the club have every right to retain Vardy and not give him the same treatment - imagine if he had been sacked for that, Leicester would quite rightfully be laughing stocks.
Larry_LCFC Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Proves what an immature bellend Adam Smith is. The two incidents not even in the same book let alone page. Stupid little ****.
Merging Cultures Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 The other three filmed themselves abusing Thai women while on a work trip and sent it to mates bragging. For me their racial slur was not the biggest problem with what they did. Vardy was filmed by someone else being racist and an idiot. It was certainly wrong, but not in the same league as those vulgar Wally's. Very different.
lgfualol Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Imagine if we sacked Vardy. He'd have a new club in a few hours. Adam Smith can go put a goal post up his arse.

Did you misread my post? I don't think anywhere I questioned the right of the club to decide who they retain and who they don't. I don't understand why calling someone a slit-eye while they lick your arse is necessarily worse than calling someone a jap and threatening them while being drunk and gambling.

Have you watched the video? How insulting to actual victims real abuse.

If we're talking about the racist slur alone, then "Jap" is not a difinitive insult (may have been used as an abbreviation, he didn't say anything that was clearly insulting), whereas Hopper called someone a "slit-eyed minger" which is obviously disgusting behaviour. The fact that only one said anything racist yet all 3 were fired suggests that it was the whole situation that upset the owners, and rightly so.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Well handled by the club again. No more dramas for a while please! Adam Smith go fvck yourself
Merging Cultures Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Abusing? That is outrageous mate you can't say that, have you watched the video? How insulting to actual victims real abuse.I did. Clearly you didn't. Abuse can be verbal as well as physical and sexual. They way they treated the women was abusive.

"Jap" has been used as an insult for decades, and he meant it as an insult. He was pissed and shouting "oi, jap!" across the room. Come on that is ridiculous even for the standards of this forum.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 I think it is double standards in the way the 3 sackings were portrayed, but tbh the 3 youth players being axed had absolutely nothing to do with racism or anything. The sole reason was the humiliation it brought the owners in their home country, which is something Vardy couldn't even hope to match.
Thracian Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Wrong? What's "wrong" in the world is when a family doesn't get to see their mother again because some idealogical wacko has cut her head off. Why don't people carp off about things that really matter, not some unfortunate remark or some irritant bugging a bloke at the casino.
Jimothy Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Adam Smith deleted that tweet now, after a barrage of abuse
