Finnegan Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 He actually says, imo, he isn't signing an English player because he can get Inler cheaper. Inler is a pretty physical, strong guy, I imagine that's all he means.
Jace Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 My source says Inler is almost done and the only other enquiry which is not looking too likely atm is Ashley Cole
Will1981 Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 My source says Inler is almost done and the only other enquiry which is not looking too likely atm is Ashley Cole Cashley can do one he wouldn't get out of bed for less than £100k a week and he is crap now.
weller54 Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Pretty obvious! Joey Barton Can't see Ranieri liking joey Barton?
SheppyFox Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 I swear the newspapers are getting worse every year in terms of transfer news. To me, it sounds as if the Daily Mail simply interpreted Ranieri's words in a different way and put their own two and two together, coming up with a neat new theory. Of course, the "Englishman" in question could be one of the two additional signings mentioned by Ranieri before. Couldn't agree more buddy!
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Gareth Barry? Doubt Everton want to let him go. Excellent for them yesterday,
Chelve84 Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Don't actually think it will be a English man but more in the context that he is playing in England
Fox seen in Norwich Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Maybe Gray of Birmingham? I'd imagine it a pacey winger type as we seem to be okay centrally. With Schlupp playing left back we only have Mahrez and Albrighton out wide. Also we have played 4-4-2 both games so far so we are very light in that area. English winger? Lennon, Townsend ?
Richmondfox Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 This is the press misquoting what he said. I'm sure he said to Stringer in the post match interview that he would want an Englishman as we are in an English league, like he would want Italian in Italy etc, and if he couldn't get the right player to strengthen the team at the right price. I couldn't name an English player of value as a player or to the team that is available in the position (CM) we need
Raw Dykes Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Surely, this has got to be a wideman? With Kante and hopefully Inler added to Drinkwater, King, James and Hammond, we'll be set in central midfield for the season.
SheppyFox Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 English winger? Lennon, Townsend ?I'd be well happy if we got Townsend!!
sdb Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 If we get Inler I'd quite like that to be it. Squad seem settled and well gelled. Perhaps a versatile winger but like what we have for now.
TJB-fox Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Townsend is the sort of player that would thrive at Leicester, with the way our current squad is set up. Bit like Albrighton had early promise at his club but has become a bit stagnant and is in need of a move
Guest Col city fan Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 I've always thought that Lennon could shine in a City shirt. Not that he's a great player but that he could be great for us. There is a difference.
Finnegan Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Seriously guys. He really doesn't say he's signing an English player. At all.
Hack Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Seriously guys. He really doesn't say he's signing an English player. At all. Which is why I didn't say one.
