lcfcbobby Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Andros townsend is a game changer and not getting a look in at spurs! Could get him relatively cheap and he is always a player that gets in the england squad even though he not playing regular football because he is a game changer! What you think?

I think townsend is great but who would he replace? I think his position is taken up by some of our better players?
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 I think townsend is great but who would he replace? I think his position is taken up by some of our better players? strange hair line - no from me. Also he is very often he is Dross Townsend
lgfualol Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Cant wait to see Townsend cut inside every 10 seconds and blast a shot out of the ground.
Gerard Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 I certainly don't want us to sign Townsend. I think Mahrez and Albrighton are two of our better players and they both have potential to get better. I wouldn't want someone coming in as a replacement just like I'm glad Fuchs hasn't taken Schlupp's place and it allows his progression. If 4-4-2 is our stock formation we are light on the flanks, no question of that. I'd love us to sign someone very young with massive potential. Someone who doesn't expect to play every week but can come on for the last 20 mins and run sides ragged. I have no opinion on who this should be but someone with that profile. Maybe one for you FM boys to suggest. A teenager with huge potential that's not already at a massive club, maybe South American?
Richmondfox Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 I'd take Ashley Cole! What could Ashley Cole offer our team? Released early from his contract at Roma which is a much slower league. 34, legs not what they were, big signing on fee, massive wages, trading on past glory. Only played 16 games last season across the 4 tournaments Roma were in. Always on the bench and never subbed on. Jeff and Fuchs can both cover positions in a 3 and 4 at the back within the same game.
Big_Nige Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Cloughs better than Lawrence, but I'd imagine he'd be loaned out too. When I say id love him here I obviously don't mean taking Mahrez or Albrighton out of the team, he'd need nurturing for a short while first. How do you know he's better than Lawrence? Lawrence looked raw in the few prem minutes he had last season, but Villa and Stoke were hardly ideal situations for the lad. He looked decent against Newcastle in the cup. He also looks equally if not better than Clough at champ level from what I've seen of them both.
Dan Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Shame Tom Lawrence probably isn't up to it yet as I think he's the kind of player we could do with to fill this wide man void. Saves us a few million again. I'd take a loanee from a big club. Can Pritchard play out wide? Get him in if so. He's a cracking little player.

The problem is that big clubs want their players to go out on loan and play every week, like Pritchard did at Brentford. Even though he is a good player he wouldn't start every week in our team and Spurs wouldn't want him to sit on the bench not developing, we have our own players we pay to do that. I think we shouldn't send Lawrence on loan but use him rather than another prem clubs players. Riyad is going to be taken off towards the end of most games either because he has ran himself and the other team ragged or we need another defender/DMF on to shore up the defence and see the game out. I hate when people use the phrase on the phone in, usually as its in the classic Lesta accent spouting nonsense, but he covers the young, hungry, British (Welsh)lad tag. Make Tom do some after hours training with Jeff and Vardy sprinting with the ball, crossing practice with Albrighton and skill sessions with Riyad. Simple?
Gerard Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 I've not seen enough of Lawrence to have an informed opinion but from what I've seen of him so far he causes little threat in this division. I'd rather bring on a MF or FW and play them out of position than Lawrence. As I've said before I'd like us to bring in a young player with a huge potential to cover our wide areas and they could have 10-20 mins a match. Watched a lot of Championship games last year and Clough looked far better, not to say that Lawrence didn't play well in his loan spell though because I do rate him.

It was a tongue and cheek comment, but I would rather he learn from the players we have and CR maybe give him a chance than go to another club.
ronnup Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Andros Townsend would be a great signing! Agreed. It's hilarious that some people don't think he would be, when he's motivated and well drilled he's a nightmare to play against.
Cat Burger Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I think we've got a screw loose if we don't bid for Phillips from QPR before the end of the window.
HighPeakFox Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Surely ONE of these players will be issuing a 'come and get me 'plea to us soon enough................
Freesolo Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I think we've got a screw loose if we don't bid for Phillips from QPR before the end of the window. United are favorites along with Bournmouth to nab him at 4/1
