From stream:

Kasper 7

RDL 6

Huth 6.5 (bit flat footed at times, not his best game)

Morgan 6

Schlupp 6 (-1 ball watching for their goal)

Albrighton 7.5

King 7

Drinkwater 6 (not terrible, but gave the ball away 1 too many times and still looks like the midfielder most likely to be dropped)

Mahrez 8.5

Vardy 7

Okazaki 7

Kante 7

Inler 6 (showed glimpses of excellence)

Overall, maybe being a bit harsh. I thought we showed great character without being particularly brilliant. Although we've set the bar so high in recent months.

pretty much 6's across the board. chuffed with a point, may have got more. gave RDL a 6.5 as he was good defensively today imo, but unfortunately no matter what he does some people are always going to slate him... we love our scapegoats. Riyad gets a 7 but i thought his decision making was a bit off but nevertheless a stunning goal. DD was quite wasteful in possession whereas Inler came on and looked very very comfortable in possession. i think Danny will be the one to lose his place rather than Kingy. Loving Kante aswell, reminds me of a bee the way he buzzes around the pitch

Okazaki didn't have much of an impact today.

Conditions played thier part. Roll on Winter.

Mahrez 9 - motm everything good came through him, extra point for the amazing goal.

Albrighton 8 - thought he was brilliant again today, shame about his shot in the first half.

RDL 7 - excellent 95% of the game just a few brain farts

Morgan 7 - some great blocks and tackles would have loved his header to go in at the end

Drinkwater and King 7 - out numbered in midfield but won plenty of balls and we're both very good all round.

Schlupp 6 - not his best game had few Jeffs

Vardy and Okazaki 6 - both gave it their all, neither looked like scoring.

Huth 5 - loses a point for his stupid foul when we were pushing for a late winner

Kasper 5 - most shots were straight at him, a couple of indecisive moments when collecting the ball and some dodgy kicking.

Spurs 5 - clearly had the players to hurt us but took it too literally at times with lots of fouls, surprisingly dirty and not very creative.

Claudio 5 - thought we might have seen a change in the starting line-up to counter Spurs 4231, subs were far too late.

Ref 6 or 4- thought he handled it quite well tried to let the game flow despite Spurs playing like Millwall, jury is still out on penalty call. If it was a penalty he gets a 4 if it wasn't he gets a 6.

Gave Okazaki and Schlupp both a 6.

Both were quite sloppy passing and slow to react when ball came to them at times.

Mahrez - 9; I do wonder whether we'd cope well without his presence.

Posted

Gave everyone a 6 apart from Mahrez and Drinkwater who got a 7. And De Laet who gets a generous 5. Pants defender.

Mahrez 8 (unplayable, rediculous, gonna sell for (50mill)

Albrighton, Vardy 7 (I have way too high expectations for these two, despite having brilliant games I felt tey could have offered more.)

King, Huth, Morgan, Inler, Kante, Kasper, Okazaki, 6 (Inler and Kante looked quality but not long enough to judge, rest were okay but not to their usual standard.)

Drinkwater, Schlupp, Rdl 5 (drinks lost the ball way too much but had a few good spells. Schlupp is a winger and not a LB for me, plays so much better as a defensive winger in a 352 or 343. De Laet had some really solid moments at stages and some abysmal moments as well.)

Tottenham 6 ( not top 5 quality but best so far this season)

Ref 4 (clear pen missed, spurs should have had at least 1 red, linesman got a few decisions wrong)

Claudio 7 (8 if Kante and Inler @60mins and Ulloa sooner)

I think the heat stifled us I thought we sat too deep most of the game which suited Spurs. Still giving away the ball too easily at times. Delaet was much better today but still does not inspire confidence defending. Still a great comeback which is the sign of a good team.

Schmeichel 6 - Didn't have a lot to do, and could do nothing about the goal. Some wayward distribution, but also a brilliant kick to set up a counter for Vardy which had Lloris racing out to save Spurs' skin.

RDL 6 - Did his bit to keep Spurs at bay and looked the more likely fullback to make something happen for us down either flank. Partly at fault for their goal and sloppy in possession on several occasions.

Huth 6 - Good first half, won everything in the air. Struggled a lot more second half as Kane bossed him and Morgan as the game wore on. Should've never allowed Kane to set up Chadli for the cross.

Morgan 6 - See above. Dithered a couple times in our six yard box which had my heart racing. What on Earth was he thinking?! Just clear it man! Missed a sitter at the end.

Schlupp 6 - Would've had a 7 if he didn't lose Alli for their goal. He was excellent defensively against both Dembele, Walker and Lamela. Apart from one hairy cross, nothing of note threatened down his side. Offered little going forward.

King 7 - Worked ever so hard to close down spaces and rendered a lot of Spurs' possession harmless. This is as good as it will ever get with him at this level though. We need someone more dynamic over the course of the game... say someone like Kanté?

Drinkwater 6 - Didn't get a hold of the game at all first half. Had very little time on the ball admittedly, but didn't use it well enough. Options ahead were also limited which excuses him somwhat.

Mahrez 9 - Our number 1 threat and it's easy to see why. Every time he's on the ball you expect the spectacular, and again he was very dangerous. Our saviour at the end, nearly set up a winner and did a heck of a lot defensively too. What can't he do? That said, he was left frustrated on several occasions where his first touch was uncharacteristicly sloppy (particularly 1st half).

Albrighton 7 - I really like Albrighton, he keeps running all day and works very hard. Not much came off for him, but he tried to provide an outlet, but we mostly threw the ball away when in possession with no-one really holding up play.

Vardy 7 - I struggle to mention anything he did wrong today really. He had to do it all today, run in behind defenders, hold up the ball, cross, dribble and create chances as well as close down all and sundry. Him and Okazaki stood very deep first half, but he was the only one along with Mahrez who looked remotely threatening today.

Okazaki 5 - He might have run the most miles today, but to extremely little effect. Hardly touched the ball, and when he did, he was mostly pushed off it easily. Didn't show the same touch and class as the first two games and looked like a lost man out there. Should have come off a lot sooner for Ulloa.

Subs:

Kanté 7 - He looks very very good. Exactly the sort of player that we need for the high-pressing tempo game we play. Very assured on the ball and very quick!

Inler 6 - A few classy touches and looks like he has superior positional awareness to Drinkwater and King. Will definitely be an asset.

Ulloa N/A - Not on long enough, but good to see him on the pitch. Must be highly frustrating for him and Kramaric to never get a look-in.

Tricky game to rate the players on today as we didn't do a lot of actually playing football. Most of the game was spent being "organised" and then whenever we got into a promising position we were stopped by a Spurs foul. Anyway...

Schmeichel 5 - Made one or two smart stops and one superb kick to release Vardy in the second half. Otherwise on at least 3 occasions he was totally indecisive in coming for the ball (on one occasion the ball dropped in his six yard box and he still didn't make it his until there had been a bit of a scramble) and he booted 2 goal kicks out for throw ins which is really not good enough.

De Laet 4 - Poor game from Ritchie today. I like him and definitely think he is good enough for a side looking to compete in the lower half of the division but he had an absolute nightmare in the second half after an average first half which was marked out only by a 40 yard backpass going out for a corner. If we have aspirations of finishing with more than 45 points I think he needs to be given some proper competition.

Huth 6 - Did fine but looks nowhere near as solid as last season.

Morgan 7 - The pick of the back 4 for me. Looked to be in control for the most part. Should have scored at the end.

Schlupp 6 - Did fine for most of the game but still looked like he was away with the fairies half the time. Probably should have done better for the goal but I'll reserve judgement until I've seen the replay.

Mahrez 7.5 MOTM - Frustrating game - ruined a couple of good chances through over-elaboration (including being put off his stride by a plastic bag in the lead up to the "penalty") but once again pulled a fantastic goal out of the bag. Not his best display but still by far the most exciting player to watch on the pitch.

King 6.5 - Stuck to a very difficult task diligently. Pressed hard, closed spaces down intelligently and formed a good defensive unit with...

Drinkwater 6 - Not as good as King for the simple reason that he didn't use the ball as well and tired more visibly in the second half. I'd expect him to be phased out over the coming games but he has shown in the previous couple of appearances that he has what it takes to be a decent player at this level.

Albrighton 6 - Flashed a shot over, put a couple of semi-decent balls in and worked hard. Otherwise very little.

Okazaki 6 - Worked his socks off but nothing came off for him today.

Vardy 6.5 - Not really his game. Struggled to get in behind but held the ball nicely a couple of times under pressure. Never let him near a free kick again, I don't care if it "favours the right-footer". Free kicks favour technically accomplished players whether right or left footed.

subs:

Kante 7 - Thought he was probably our best player when he came on. Looked hungry, put a couple of nice balls in and put himself about.

Inler n/a - Ludicrous shot from 35 yards when we were building pressure though.

Ulloa n/a

Ranieri 5 - A bit disappointed today to be honest. I thought we were too narrow in the first half and he took way too long to make changes in the second half. It was obvious that fresh legs were needed after about 55 minutes and we didn't make any changes for another 20 after that.

Spurs 5 - Technically accomplished but probably the most boring team I have ever seen. Spurs fans must feel like picking their eyes out with rusty forks having to watch that rubbish.

lol Mahrez??!!!!!

He wasn't better than any other player. Scored a goal which doesn't override the overall performance.

Posted

Mahrez was not that good, he wasn't poor but the nines he's getting here are over the top IMO. No goal and he gets marked alongside everyone else.

Not sure what game you were watching. He was the best player on the pitch by a mile. Beat Ben Davis everytime. Excellent goal made by himself, unlucky not to score when he hit the post and should have won a penalty. It was the Mahrez show today. No other player even came close to him.

I like how this has become the standard response to anything you happen to disagree with. "Oh, someone saw it differently to me, better act all superior to show how silly they're being"

Mahrez did some good things today but he also mucked a few things up as well - overall he played significantly better in the previous two games. If we're going to hand out eights and nines for today's performance we're going to have a pretty exaggerated set of ratings at the end of the season.

Posted

People take Mahrez routinely beating the full back for granted these days.

He probably beat Davies today more often than I saw a City winger beat his opponent combined from 2004-8 and it was nowhere near his best game.

Agree. He lost the ball many times, knocked off the ball easily. I think everybody was pretty average today. though Mahrez took his goal well.

Firstly I'm astounded that people can suggest Mahrez was no better than any of our other players today. He was once again the best player on the pitch. The chance he created for himself when he hit the post was genius. His goal was fantastic and he made a mug of their full back over and over.

Kasper 6 Couple of nervous moments second half from him. Dominating his box will always be his weak spot

De Laet 6 Caught day dreaming in our penalty box second half but otherwise ok

Morgan 6 Great block first half, looked a little slow on a couple of occasions in our box though

Huth 6 Solid enough

Schlupp 6 As with De Laet, caught daydreaming once in second half which almost cost us. Haven't seen the goal back yet either - not sure if he was at fault maybe??

Albrighton 6.5 Some great defensive work and nice crosses

Drinkwater 7 Decent enough, tired second half

King 7 As above

Mahrez 8 Said it all above. Brilliant again

Vardy 7 All round game good today- won balls in the air, touch good, looked dangerous and his passes always found a blue shirt

Okasaki 6 Worked very hard, tired towards the end

Inler looked superb in his brief cameo

A good result today- Spurs very decent with posession and it's much harder in that heat when you are the side chasing the ball ( as we were). Thought Ranieri should have made subs earlier than he did but a point is a good result.
