The tricky winger played just over 70 minutes in his maiden appearance in a City shirt, netting the only goal of the game in the first period. Dyer, who joined on a season-long loan from fellow Barclays Premier League side Swansea City on deadline day, played alongside two more of the Foxes’ summer signings as both N’Golo Kanté and Yohan Benalouane completed 90 minutes. Meanwhile, Marcin Wasilewski, Danny Simpson, Joe Dodoo, Dean Hammond and Leonardo Ulloa also benefited from a run out as City’s competitive fixture programme takes a short pause while the first international break of the 2015/16 season ensues. It was Kanté who would first test Stoke shot-stopper Daniel Gyollia, as the former Caen midfielder hammed an effort goal-bound that had to be turned away on five minutes. image: http://www.lcfc.com/cms_images/player/dyer-stoke-480280-2665940.jpg Winger Joe Dodoo, who made his Premier League debut against Bournemouth on Saturday, then curled a 25-yard free kick just over the bar midway through the first period. Increased pressure from the Foxes eventually saw them take the lead on 33 minutes. Dodoo’s initial shot was blocked, but Dyer was on hand to convert the rebound, lashing in past Gyollia from close range. Both sides traded blows after the break, as Hammond’s drive was blocked, before goalkeeper Jonny Maddison denied Mark Waddington with a smart stop with 20 minutes to play. A trio of efforts from City’s younger players then followed as substitute Layton Ndukwu first tested Gyollia, before the Stoke ‘keeper was on hand again to prevent Andre Olukanmi and Michael Cain from making it 2-0 late on. It proved to be a decent work out, and while a victory was certainly welcome, minutes for those not on international duty with their nations remained the key outcome of this fixture. filbertstreet Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 nice why was it behind closed doors, wouldn't have minded watching that
Carl the Llama Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 He looks like Mo Farah's hirsute brother.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Pleased for Dyer scoring a goal already. Hopefully that might give him some confidence.
HitchinFox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 nice why was it behind closed doors, wouldn't have minded watching that To keep it hassle free I presume. Allowing public access would add the need for stewards, security, health and safety, need for emergency services etc etc.
les-tah Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 nice why was it behind closed doors, wouldn't have minded watching that Cheap and cheerful friendly.. 'arrive at training ground, then play' Alot of factors are involved when you start letting people come watch ect ect.

Foxes Pride LGBT Fan Group Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Great start ! Cant wait to see him tearing up the opposition in the league Excellent signing !
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Good fixture to have as a work out. Dyer could be the surprise player of the season. He has a great work ethic, plus speed and skill.
promised land Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 To keep it hassle free I presume. Allowing public access would add the need for stewards, security, health and safety, need for emergency services etc etc. I'd imagine, security, health and safety and emergency services were there anyway. But logistics to hold it at the ground on a night would be more involved as you say than a training ground game. Out of interest does anyone know who officiates these games? Is it like Sunday league, 3 volunteers from the club!
Vlad the Fox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Out of interest does anyone know who officiates these games? Is it like Sunday league, 3 volunteers from the club! Jo Dodoo's dad. A couple of subs ran the line.
