Vardy's finishing

I think Okazaki makes some good tackles and interceptions and does a decent job of supporting Vardy.

I like how Vardy presses but I think he needs another supporting player to do the same (like Nugent used to do).

There were times during the second half when Vardy was pressing but he was looking back in frustration as no one was doing the same.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Ulloa and Vardy partnership but sometimes Ulloa seems slow. Given his height, I also think he should be winning more headers from Kasper's goal kicks.

Said that a month ago and got a roasting ! Still think we should do it.

The only problem with him playing so well is that unfortunately he makes the rest of our strike force look average.

Can't understand you getting a roasting for it pal. You wanting a proven premier league goalscorer to partner our main striker? Yeah you're deffo crazy! Haha i dont care how many strikers we've got an option to sign someone like him should not of been sniffed at.

Anyway that doesn't matter it didnt happen and for now I think the best player to compliment Vardy would be Leo. He showed what he can offer when he came on today. In particular the strength to win the ball and then to lay it off for Kingys shot in the box.

Stick him in Claudio. Go onnnn lol

I don't get this, I never thought he was dreadful - he started off pretty well then got an injury which obviously still hindered him after he came back but he still looked a handful. Got far too much abuse from some people who were expecting a Conference player to turn up and score every game

But yeah, he has improved every season since and is on absolute fire these days. Would love to see him play a couple of seasons in the Champions League and have the world's elite's pants down

Actually I agree, 'difficult' season is probably the more accurate term. He's said himself that he struggled and considered quitting but the faith that was shown in him spurred him on.

The most important thing in all of this though is how people keep writing him off and he is proving each and everyone of them wrong. In the best form of any English striker this season!!

The best striker England have, if we want to stand a chance of doing anything in the Summer he plays up front through the middle and the hard decision is who partners him or plays in the hole behind him

Confidence player. He's reached the very top in the last six months, how could he now not believe in himself?

He knows his own worth and we're seeing the result. He's always had it in his locker, that goal he scored at Boro on the first day of the promotion season isn't talked about nearly as much as it should be.

Two great finishes for his goals.

Can't be missing chances like that header though.

Is there a thread on any site that involves different fans from different teams about Vardy? I would like to gauge what general opinion of other fans is. All I hear from my mates is how they never rate him. They don't reall watch enough for a real opinion but I would love to know what it is they don't like and why. Yesterday was another example of how he is developing and how good he can be and still no rise in their opinions. Is it because he plays for us? Is it because he came into the game from non league? Is it because he came into the game late? Is it to do with the casino incident? Or has he got a penalty against them? Or is it he looks a bit like a weasel? Or is it simply that they truly have observed him enough to make an educated reason and have a valid opinion and don't rate him. What do most non LCFC or Fleetwood fans think. I am intrigued.

Your first paragraph is spot on. He deffo started well with us. Then, apart from the injury, there was a defining moment away, midweek at Bolton, I think, where he's scored a goal and had another one incorrectly ruled out for offside. It was said at the time that had that goal stood he would probably gone on to get a hattrick, we would have won the game, and his confidence would have kicked on from there. Instead, his confidence in front of goal started to slide and he got a lot of hasty criticism which didn't help.

He deserves real credit for the way he's fought back from that position, and his deadliness in front of goals has gone up several notches over the last 2 years.

Quality player. Amazing bargain at £1 million and proved NP's scouting team right yet again. Would hate to see him leave. His pashun is infectious.

Don't mention the L word ...  Even in jest !

Not just his finishing but his first touch. I remember when he first joined that was his main weakness. You can see he works at his game which can't be said for every player.

I'd worry if he got injured.

I doubt Okazaki and Kramaric, in particular, would be good enough (in terms of converting chances) to fill his space.

Ulloa would be the likeliest to score a few, but again he has been blamed for not converting when he should've done.

His continual improvement for someone his age is astonishing really. God I wish the last was a bit younger.

He has managed to maximise the strengths he has always had of his pace and directness and tenacity whilst ironing out glaring weaknesses in his game: composure and touch (excellent now as Kitchandro said). AKA the dream. So many people work on their weaknesses at the expense of their strengths that brought them to the table in the first place

He's a driven individual and a winner and that's the kind of guy we are rightly building a team around. Becoming a legend in my eyes and I would never have entertained the thought 3 years ago!

Just spat my tea out reading that...  lol  I suspect that is actually the reason why other fans dislike him

He looks like hes gained some composure. His 2 goals on Saturday were actually very similar, both curled around the keeper when cutting in from the left wing. I thought originally he smashed the first one and beat the keeper for pace, but it was better than that, the 2nd was sublime. HI first touch for the opener was great, then he looked up for SO, and then just decided to have it himself. He must just be brimming with confidence now, can't wait to watch him on Saturday at Norwich, i think we'll do them.

He scored no end like that for Fleetwood, I think it's the extra confidence he has that he probably had back then when banging in the goals.
