Blue will Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Keiran Trippier from spurs? He was awesome for burnley, what you think??
Dan Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Too early to say for sure, but he's doing a lot better this year than he did last year and fair play to him for that.
ealingfox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Still bang average all things considered. If we blew all our January beans on a good RB and nobody leaves I'd consider it a good window.
Xen Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 De Laet offers attacking threat but is a bit of a liability defensively, particularly so when Mahrez is in front of him. Simpson is much better defensively, but not great at all going forwards. An average player, but nothing special. More consistent so far though... Both are mid-lower prem players, which is fine for a club our level. However, we've started to progress into a top 8 prem club, and neither of them are quite at that level. Definitely get an improvement in January and sell one of them (who gets sold depends on the type of RB we bring in). That's not to suggest that they're not both very capable players, but the club has a vision and unfortunately they're not quite up to the level we need.
MPH Posted 1 November 2015 Author Posted 1 November 2015 Personally still delighted we were able to get Christian Fuchs!
Ozwin Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I wasn't his biggest fan on or off the pitch but he's been great the last few games. Minus letting Rondon score but why is he on him for a corner anyway? If there's a decent option out there then sure, go for it, that goes for all positions, but I'm happy at the moment.
STUHILL Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Improved a lot. Too easily beaten in the air though and so always a risk at set plays. Would still like to see us sign a better RB in January if one is available. We must keep strivng to improve on what we have, hence why I still think we should sign Austin, even though we are scoring loads!
sdb Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Pros of our two RBs: Simpson - better defensively RDL - better offensively, quicker and probably better in the air too Not a lot between the 2 but certainly if it's Mahrez RW then Simpson shades it. Both OK options but as mentioned, Trippier would be a great addition. If so i'd probably keep RDL as he offers something a bit more different.
FireFox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Doesn't matter if he is doing enough. He is scum, and I wish he wasn't at the club.

Ozwin Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Austin would be perfect if and when Vardy gets injured. Would be a top signing and surely would be a bit cheaper now? Send them Kramaric on loan for a bit too if they want.
STUHILL Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 are you mental? Nope. Think Vardy and Austin would be a dream pairing personally. Both score goals for fun. If we want to make the step to the next level, consistently, then we need to keep pushing and improving and Austin is an improvement on our other strikers in my opinion. Kram to go on loan. Ulloa and Shinji back-up strikers.
Beliall Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 i guess, but i wouldnt want to risk upsetting the strikers we have tbh. maybe in the summer
CORNFOX68 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Lost his man for their goal but other than that I thought that was his best game for us, good enough? not convinced He did lose him, but rondon timed his run well, no great fan of simpsons thought he was shocking last year but this year hes getting better, hes not going to get up and down but looks pretty solid defensively, my only problem with him is he always knocks the ball backwards and sideways never trys anything slightly adventurous,
Bryn Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Feel far more comfortable with him there than de Laet.

We nearly got relegated last year and have had a great start to this season. Not sure that equates to us progressing into a top 8 Prem club just yet.

LAprice_ Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 The better right-back is whichever one is lucky enough to have Albrighton in front of him. In this case, Simpson. I kinda feel sorry for De Laet because he always had Mahrez.
lgfualol Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Prefer him to De Laet. I dont think De Laet is that good attacking, seems like he is dreaming for most of the game as well. Would be good if we could buy a right-back that can play on the left as well.

Bettsj2 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 If we are to solidify ourselves as a top half team, there are eventually some truths you have to accept. Simpson has been playing well but we need a right back of the same quality as Fuchs.
lestajigs Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Wasn't at the game yesterday, but last week he was one of better players, fair play to him tbf
weller54 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Decent.. But not at marking 6ft+ strikers at set pieces!
