MPH Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Putting the discussion to one side as to wether he should be playing or not, let's keep that to other threads..just wondered if people thought he was doing enough to keep his place come January transfer window? Had a lot of talk on here about us going for a RB in January... But we are sitting third in the league, undefeated away from home and Simspon is looking like a steady accomplished RB right now. But is steady and accomplished enough?
Fox92 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 He was very good again yesterday. Better than De Laet.
Beliall Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 ssimpson might be a twat, but he been playing well
car1os Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 He's a better fit for the right side when we play Mahrez as he doesn't bomb forward as much, leaving that side exposed for the opposition. Think he's been pretty good so far
MPH Posted 1 November 2015 Author Posted 1 November 2015 Seems to be benefitting from a run of games in the team...
Gerard Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Offers little offensively but very solid defensively this season. He obviously has his limitations but worthy of his place in the team.
Swarles Barkley Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Better than De Laet. Can't argue with that! ssimpson might be a twat, are you guys writing a poem?
MPH Posted 1 November 2015 Author Posted 1 November 2015 are you guys writing a poem? Least he ain't fat!
BenKimbo Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Good so far. Needs to stop being told to mark the biggest aerial threat from corners, not his fault though. With regards to the transfer window if there's no U-21 RB waiting to be pushed forwards then I think that we should look at getting somebody for the future.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 are you guys writing a poem? I see where you're goin'. *runs off*
Fox92 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Better than De Laet. Can't argue with that! ssimpson might be a twat Least he ain't fat! He made McLean look like a pocket rat
Stevosevic Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Our best option right now so fair play to him.
The whole world smiles Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Personally I would say he is playing very well and fair play to him for that but he is only playing well up to his personal level of ability which for the prem is not massively high he's a good championship/newly promoted type of player good but if we want to consolidate on this amazing start we have had rb is one of the only areas we need to improve which compared to lb where we have Fuchs and schlupp as cover is lacking somewhat.
suffolk fox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Played bloody well yesterday stopped a certain goal for them in the second half with a last ditch tackle on Mclean. Feel a damn site safer with him at the back than De Laat. Some people on this board need to lay off him maybe they are the twats.
Buzzell Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Good to see him taking his chance whilst getting a run of games but I would still say we need some quality in the RB department.
Bamba's Babes Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Playing good enough that RB isn't the reason we're conceeding atm whereas when braindead Ritchie plays, that's almost the entire reason.
davieG Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Playing good enough that RB isn't the reason we're conceeding atm whereas when braindead Ritchie plays, that's almost the entire reason. Lost his man for their goal but other than that I thought that was his best game for us, good enough? not convinced
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Football is a strange game, can strangle who he likes as long as he plays well etc.
Stadt Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 De Laet doesn't even offer that much more defensively, RDL's crossing is appalling.
Fox42 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Offers little offensively but very solid defensively this season. He obviously has his limitations but worthy of his place in the team. Debatable
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 We saw it last season in the few appearances he made. Simpson is not very good on the ball. He gives it away too cheaply because his passing is poor. DeLaet is better than Simpson in this respect. BUT..Simpson is simply a better RB. He's a better defender. If we were playing wing backs, I'd play DeLaet. If we are playing a flat back four, I'd play Simpson. For me it's that simple and clear. Same on the left too. Flat back four...Christian Fuchs. Wing backs..Schlupp.
