Mark Lawrenson's Predictions

Recommended Posts

Lawro seems to judge every team on how good they have been on average in the last few seasons, and just never changes his opinion on form, current league position etc.

Surprised he has caught up with Man City being decent now and isn't still predicting them to finish mid table.

'Here are several reasons why Leicester should win. Here are several reasons why the opposition should lose. But, for some reason, I fancy Leicester to lose.' Insert into every prediction he ever makes.

Lawro is no surprise as the buffoon is on LSD.

The super computer? I want to know what fkn data Sam was fed to spew out a 1-1 draw as they are shite :) ? Was Lawro or the other genius pundits helping them too?

Super Computer my arse!

Looking at that code bit at the top it looks like it's assigning values to home/away form and then some sort of attack/defence rating.

The most common scores in football are all 1-0, 1-1 and 2-1 probably 2-0 fairly likely too. I think Lawro knows this as the vast majority of his predictions won't go too far from those scores.

There is a fairly basic thing you can do, probably a simplified version of the SAM computer called Poission distribution. That basically calculates likely scores based on teams scoring records and it always spits out 1-0's, 2-1s 1-1s as the most likely result to occur, I suppose interesting to play around with but not too accurate but probably about as accurate as the SAM ha!

You know the worst thing is the game we lose one he'll be straight on there saying he called it, the tit.

Cheers Pablo, human error then :)

I'll raise Lawro and SAM with my

Liverpool 1-3 Leicester prediction :) COYB

'Liverpool are underdogs' erm they are 10/11 to win the match and 2/5 no bet. Buffoon.

"I saw Leicester's 3-2 win at Everton last weekend when Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy turned the game in their favour.

What we haven't spoke about is how organised the team is behind those two. Leicester have got width, defenders who defend, a top goalkeeper and they are all prepared to work hard to create chances for Mahrez and Vardy. But, for some reason, I fancy Liverpool.

Liverpool will probably have to go back to basics - getting tackles in and squeezing the opposition. They didn't do that in the 3-0 defeat at Watford.

Liverpool's problem is that when Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana play without a centre-forward, they have too many touches and it allows the opposition to get back into position.

But because Liverpool are the underdogs - and because there will be a great Boxing Day atmosphere at Anfield - I'm going for a home win"

I nearly died of laughter when i read this, "but for some reason, i fancy leicester to lose" should be tattooed on the man

That's absolutely hilarious lol

Boxing day atmosphere my arse. It will be a total morgue as per every home game.

Who gives a rats ass about what he predicts. As long as we keep winning I couldn't care less

this . He may be a former pro but like Garth Crooks his predictions are about as accurate and his opinions are as informed  as the know all down the pub who has suddenly become an expert on all  things LCFC because we are in the papers a lot

I (again) dunno why people are so bothered. He says we'll lose or draw, we win, so I'd be worried if he started backing us tbh.

And he might always get our result wrong but on the whole he's done pretty well this season, won about 80% I think.

Mind you his other predictions are pisspoor. Watford are not going to rollover for Chelsea, nor Stoke for Man U.

Perhaps his predictions are from last year via a timewarp? They certainly have nothing to do with this season.

I think it's great the fact that he obviously doesn't rate us and our chances considering he always puts us down to lose. We're proving him wrong every week making him look like an absolute tool.

Keep up the predictions Lawro lol

i dont think people on here are that bothered (when he predicts us to lose, we win, works for me) its more that his reasoning is just hilarious. As someone said, he'll list all the reasons Leicester should win, all the reasons the other team should lose and then right at the end say "but, i have a feeling leicester will lose this one" and predicts a 3-0 win to aston villa

Has us to not even score!I suppose he doesn't know that we are the top scorers, have scored in every game, have 21 goals in 9 away.We also have a couple of players who have gone under his radar and scored 28 goals between them this season (shh keep it quiet ).

Oh, and Liverpool's defence.

Have you seen his predicted table compared to the actual one? It's very bad.
