Swansea City v Leicester City post match thread 0 - 3

Good team performance, Kante and Mahrez the star performers. Simpson has turned into a real pleasant surprise at full back as well.

Swansea were atrocious - Gomis in particular is dire: probably the worst regular centre forward in the premier league.

With the worst celebration, luckily man is so shit we hardly see it.

Interesting stat of the day.

Swansea only committed 3 fouls and got 2 yellow cards.

Neither of those fouls were given as free kicks, ref played on and booked them after, so did we only get one free kick from a foul?

I thought the Ref was excellent today, apart from the deliberate foul on Mahrez and the penalty at the end but probably let it go as we had the game won and it was time up anyway.

Jamie Vardy's first touch is the best in the league... how he takes it down and sticks the ball to his boot over the shoulder is truly world class

Riyads is better. See today's second goal!

Just watched our third goal again on Sky game of the day. If Arsenal or Man City had scored that the pundits would be creaming their pants. What a great move.

At one point towards the end Kante was pressing one of their players on one wing, the ball got switched quite quickly and he sprinted over at the speed of light and pressed on the other wing.

That's my excuse for yelling "Go on Jeff" at him anyway.

lol

We're not top by accident. Some of our football is absolutely breathtaking. I can't believe this is Leicester City I'm watching at the moment.

Few uncharacteristic mistakes today, but we were a class apart and deserved the win, should have had alot more.

Ulloa was particularly pleasing, Made a few mistakes but he did touch the ball an awful lot, put in some classy passes and linked up play well, Won his headers and made a few important defensive clearances and threw some tackles in too.

Improvement on Okazaki, Needs a good run though and we need to strengthen there in january.

Agreed. It looks like a camp amateur drama teacher doing an interpretative dance performance.

Firstly it is a team game and having players like Vardy, Mahrez, Albrighton running the defence ragged on and off the ball makes so much difference, we press as a team and defend as a team and it is the rest of the team doing their jobs well that allows Kante and Drinkwater to do their jobs.

Drinkwater and Kante wouldn't win the ball back half as much if the rest of the team weren't pressing and defending and leaving no easy outs, likewise on the ball, Drinkwater and Kante would not be able to move the ball forwards without the movement and running of their team mates.

As for the comparison to last season

First 5 games last season, great midfield and effort across the board, everyone worked their balls off and allowed our midfield to play.

Then Pearson got diamonds in his eyes and we became static and slow and frankly terrible.

Then for our great escape we finally found a formation that clicked and we played again as a team, working for each other, but that midfield 2 of Cambiasso and James were just as good as Kante and Drinkwater and arguably better as we controlled games, created lots of chances and didn't squander possession. we have one of the worst possession stats this season, last season with Cambiasso and without Drinkwater we even achieved 50%+ possession in some games.

Despite handing out a few thrashings this season, we still average 44.2% (44.8% last year and we were shit for 2 thirds of that).

Col, we get it you didn't rate Cambiasso, praise Drinkwater all you want, but you are banging your drum again and it leads to people not even seeing the Drinkwater praise, leave your Cambiasso agenda out of it. He was integral to our great escape, and culpable for us being in that position, you may not have seen the class he had, but many ther people did.

You say Cambiasso and James were arguably better or as good, I would have to disagree with that the reason teams are having so much possession against us is because we let them, if you could have a look at where that possession is I bet the majority would be in the opponents own half.

Drinkwater and Kante are a different kettle, Kante is as good as both of them put together.

Just how good was Kante going forward today? Ruthless little bastard, love him.

He's a pocket rocket. Like a Duracell bunny, he just keeps going and going...

This team is so, so good. It's an absolute miracle that a club like us can have a team so well drilled, so positive and so effective.

Do not under-estimate how well organised we are. Post Arsenal we've been a completely different kettle of fish. You have to go back to the Norwich game to find a goal we conceded that wasn't from a set piece or penalty.

I genuinely believe we're well in the top four race, or even better, we've actually improved on our strong start rather than dropped off, that's the key factor.

Forza Don Claudio.

That was from a corner wasn't it?

Just watched the game, the Kante & Drinkwater partnership is exceptional.

The amount of first & second balls they picked up in the middle of the park was outrageous, Kante was literally everywhere, his forward runs especially were brilliant. As for Drinkwater his passing range was spunkworthy, and his coolness on the ball recently has been top notch.

Both of them deserve call ups for their national sides.

Take 3 nil away everyday but we should have been 5 up by halftime. Any other week and Vardy scores 1 on 1, Mahrez 1 on 1 maybe should have squared it to Vardy and Ulloa fails to hit target on counter attack.

I know critics, analyst's and experts saying we are a two man team re Vardy and Mahrez but it is our complete team performance that has us up the top. Kante, Drinky, Albrighton along with Fuchs and dare I admit it Simpson are all massive contributors to the success.

Claudio must start Ulloa and not Okazaki.

On my stream the commentators were full of praise for drinky and Kante, in fact he said Drinkwater should get Motm over Mahrez

Nail on the head...the amount of second balls they pick up is THE difference this season. And Drinkwater's passing has been superb.

Drinky was average against United , today he showed his class and bounces back with a fantastic display he is really another massive story developing

He shouldn't discount having to cancel his summer holidays the world is waking up to how good he is and more importantly he is now aware of how good he is !
