Crazy Stat Time!

Recommended Posts

A few random stats from this weekend:

1) Andy King moved into the top 20 on our all-time goalscorers list.

2) Jamie Vardy equals the post war record for goals in a top flight league season - 24 (equal with Lineker 1984/85)

3) Our all time goal difference, from the 19th Century to the present day, is now +1. Positive for the first time in decades.

4) Oh - we're ten points clear at the top of the Premier League.

if you only count top flight we still need another 430 goal swing to get that

Did Nick the Stats Guy hack your account? He was subbed on in the home Arsenal defeat and the Liverpool defeat. Also started in the FA Cup replay against spurs that we lost. (Not sure about the League Cup game but that counts as a draw, right?)

The correct stat is: When Ulloa has scored this season, we're unbeaten.

Didn't Darius Vassell used to have that as a career long stat lol

Who were the last team's to win the premier league by 10 or 13 points?

Specifically that amount, Man Utd in 2000/01 with 80 points. Arsenal in 2nd with 70. We finished 13th that season and it was also the season we were top in October then went on a very poor run after losing to Utd.

Man Utd won it by 11 points in 12/13 season. Arsenal by 11 in 03/04.

Chelsea won it by 12 points in 04/05 season

Cheers guessed it might be utd. I wonder people will realise we stormed the league and not nicked it by a point or two

How many players have won a winners medal whilst on loan from another PL team? Not a trivia question, I just wondered if Dyer was unique?

Costel Pantilimon was on loan for Man City in 11/12 season. He then joined permanently.

Tevez was also on loan at Man Utd in their 07/08 season.

Tomasz Kusczak and Henrik Larsson for Utd in 06/07.

Can't be bothered to look any further back lol

Fair enough but Pantilimon and Larson were loaned from non Premier League clubs.

Talking of goal difference, this is superb...

Amazing, it truly was our lowest point when we hit league one that season, but ever since we have rocketed to the greatest heights in next to no time really. That relegation to league one changed everything and from that point their wasn't any stopping us.

Not a crazy stat but a worthwhile one to note. Since relegation to League One we've lost 31 home games in eight seasons. We lost 31 between 2004 and 2008. We've also won 99 home league games in the past 8 seasons. We've averaged over 12 home wins a season and under 4 defeats.

Not sure if this has been posted but a win on Sunday and defeat for Spurs would give Leicester the second biggest points margin at the top in English football history. James Richardson just mentioned it on the Guardian Football Podcast.

Bayern Munich have just spent more in 43 minutes than we spent on our entire squad, according to Squawka.

£57.5m on Renato Sanchez & Mats Hummels, compared to £56m for our squad.

I think i'm right in saying that if we win and Spurs fail to beat Newcastle then we'll finish the season with the second highest lead since the Premier League began.

Awww, I was just about to post that, but I can confirm it as correct. Though we also need Arsenal to not win cos if they do the margin will only be 12 pts, equalling Chelsea's 04-05 winning margin. Technically still second, but who wants to share with them!?
