Crazy Stat Time!

I bet Steve Walsh did.

Steve Walsh didn't score in our first Premier League Season. Was injured for most of it, this fell in the middle of his time with us, and would have stopped him getting 10 consecutive seasons.

Chandler on the other hand is a great shout without looking at the stats.

Although it was a poor game today, the result extended our unbeaten home run to 20 matches. It's a tremendous record and comparably brilliant, too, against the rest of the league.

Games unbeaten at home-

Arsenal- 2

Bournemouth- 2

Chelsea- 0

Crystal Palace- 2

Everton- 7

Leicester- 20

Liverpool- 10

Man City- 6

Man United- 2

Southampton- 8

Stoke- 1

Swansea- 0

Sunderland- 1

Tottenham- 4

Watford- 2

West Brom- 2

West Ham- 1

(All teams above have played in the last 2 seasons, all promoted sides have lost at home this season). The next best record is half of ours.

Before the Liverpool match, we'd gone 76 games and more than 15 years without losing by more than two goals away in the Premier League.

Now we've done it three times in a row...

Just seen you said away

Another crazy stat at the time of writing

Games won by Leicester City in the Champions League this season: 3 (from 3)

Games won by Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham combined in the group stage of the CL this season: 3 (from 7)

Shhhh... they think they're keeping the coefficient up!

Not entirely crazy although the  first one might develop into one in few weeks

The stats you need to know

  • Leicester City (W13 D7) are one game away from matching the longest unbeaten home run in the top flight since Chelsea's 21-game streak which ended in August 2015.
  • Christian Fuchs scored his first goal for Leicester City in his 47th appearance for the club.
  • Crystal Palace are just the fifth Premier League side to score against Leicester at home in their past 16 games at the King Power Stadium.
  • Shinji Okazaki scored his first goal in 14 Premier League games, last doing so against Newcastle in March.
  • Crystal Palace have conceded in their past 15 Premier League away games, their longest run on the road in the Premier League without a clean sheet.

Wow, we could hold the unbeaten home record, with West Brom and boro up next at home this is certainly on.
