Crazy Stat Time!

Recommended Posts

Good point! There's never a dull moment supporting City. Well, nearly true. Here are a couple of stats relating to 0-0 draws:-

1. In the last 10 seasons, City's second league game has ended 0-0 no less than 5 times.

2. The last time City had no 0-0 draws in the league was in 1999/2000. But there were 6 of them in their 13 cup games, 3 going to a pso.

Arsenal and Newcastle games the next ones I think.

Arsenal haven't yet kept a clean sheet away from home this season...

We spent almost as much money signing Brendan Rodgers (£9m) than we did most of our title winning XI:

Kasper: £1.5m

Simpson: £2m

Morgan: £1m

Huth: £3m

Fuchs: Free

Mahrez: £400k

Drinkwater: £800k

Albrighton: Free

Vardy: £1m

The £9m was for Brodgers and his staff, but still it’s amazing how quickly £9m has become a relatively inconsequential amount of money.

So that means 33 in 18 from the other games. Which is top 6 kind of form, top 7 definitely.

Question for those with better memories than I, or at least better resources:

How often did Claude name an unchanged side?

Pretty sure he did do it once or twice and I'm fairly certain that the last time he did, we lost.

Seem to remember lots of people celebrating an unchanged team pre-match, and then slagging off his team selection post-match. As you do.

Maguire - Fastes red card in the Prem for 4 years!

Maddison - First time we have ever had a player score two goals directly from free kicks in one Prem season.

Didn't Ferdinand score 2 in 2003/04? Everton & Portsmouth? Possibly Charlton also?

I recall the ball being nudged slightly to the side by another player before he blasted them in, so won't count.
