Marcin Wasilewski - The Man, The Beast, The Legend

His style went back to the 60s-70s, but with just a bit more skill.

City players alone.. ,I.King, Sjoberg, Cross, Elliot/F.Mcklintock (for me our nrs 1 n 2 skill wise) S.Walsh.

He proved many wrong, with 'A walking Red card' comments.

Though didnt stop last seasons run of defeats, actually improved the defence, then

proved his worth in last seasons Run-in.

Never forgetting the Championship title.

"Robocop" had a top career before the foxes, but he has served us brilliantly, and could finish

a memorable season, in his most likely last top-level season.

FOR.Me Last season was the POS, which I posted at the time.

With the above mentioned, he fits easy into my 'legend- Databank'

Absolutely love Wasyl he's an utter tank and it just shows how good are team is now even after he put in a good performance against Everton he was still dropped down to the bench.

Woahhhhhhh Wasilewksi woaaaaahhhh Wasilewski!

If I could choose one human being from anywhere in the world to protect me in a confrontation, Was would be the number one choice!

I think he won't stay longer than past this season and then move back to Poland to end his career in the Ekstraklasa, preferably with Slask. Full circle.

Nah, not Śląsk! Need them to go down this season, as they are currently the only team worse than Górnik.

I was having quite a funny conversation with my old man on the way back from Liverpool on boxing day about players we had completely forgot played for Leicester all sorts of duffers came up like Danny Cadamarteri and Kishishev and it occurred to me that we are going through such a great period in our history with so many memorable players that this is in danger of happening to players whose contributions deserve to be remembered. Players like big Was.

Was was originally Signed in 13/14 and helped the record breaking team to the Championship title by starting 27 games, we won 18 of them. In our first season in the Prem he played in 8 of the final 9 games which saw us pull of the 'greatest' of 'great escapes'. With his heroic performances often being overlooked due to the arrival and form of big Huth.

He is now 35 and due to Claudio changing back to a 4 at the back he has found his opportunities limited and I was a bit disappointed that after getting his chance at Everton due to a Huth suspension, and taking it with both hands with a towering performance in a famous win he found himself back on the bench for the following game, but then I thought to come in and play like that after not featuring all season tells you everything you need to know about the blokes professionalism, character and class and you can be sure that if we need him again this season he will be just as dependable.

Anyway I will be very surprised if this isn't his last season and I just thought I'd post this as it does sometimes feel like he has been overlooked slightly and there have been very few players who have contributed as much this big Polish slab of granite to our success in recent years.

I hope he will be remembered for his solid performances, his utter dedication, his flying elbows and..... this tackle

If we do get to see him again this season enjoy him while you can because he has been one of the best (well top 10) and most underrated CB's I've seen in my 25 years following city.

Just sat here with my old man and read this post out and showed the tackle which we both laughed at.

What a fantastic post. I remember against millwall when he went into the crowd to celebrate with those anderlecht fans, thinking, how sad, going to all that trouble to travel over for him?

Now I would probably do the exact same.

The Ekstraklasa at the moment isn't really reflecting the powers that usually are - I mean, Piast Gliwice are in first spot! Piast!

What a great post absolutely love Wasyl. Shows his dedication and quality when he's ahead of Benny even though he's 35, a free transfer while Benny was 5 million and not a Ranieri signing.

Whenever he warms up he gets a great reception from the fans.

When he started the game at Goodison recently the support he got was so loud that he acknowledged the fans whilst facing up to a Tim Howard goal kick.

Yes the word legend is over used but in Was' case I think it is completely justified.

A complete and utter tank of a player and someone you'd want around your club for a very long time.

Oh, just another major point, a really big point, I know the answer, how many of you losing negative doubters do..??

HOW MANY RED CARDS IN A LEICESTER SHIRT, did Marcin see.

Save me opening another thread, for the inuators and poor posters.

How many Reds has the German giant Robert Huth seen in Leicester colours....

Absolutely love Wasyl. One of my favourite leicester players and will genuinely be sad when he leaves. Real old school defender who scares the sh t out of the opposition. Top professional and role model. Legend!

Quite correct from what I've been told
