Marcin Wasilewski - The Man, The Beast, The Legend

Never will or has a squad player leaving been so devastating, as it will be when he goes. Don't recall a bad performance at CB, his win ratio for us must be pretty insane.

Get the feeling his heart is most with RSA and he'll be gone in 6 months time. It'll be so sad to see him go!! Love him.

Love the bloke! Hope he is Captain for the cup run.

Now there is a good point...Some want to rest players, then why not Morgan.

Benny beside him. Then no need to give 2 fringe CBs a go at the same time . Then Huth on the Bench.

Red card waiting to happen we all said when he first came. So glad we're wrong sometimes

Great post, totally agree regarding professionalism that he fills in and does a sterling job. When Benteke scored for Liverpool the game after Everton, when he was dropped, I thought that Was the tank wouldn't have let Benteke have that much space!

I bet he's also contributing to Mahrez improvement. If Riyad needs to get past him in training no wander it looks easy for him during games.

Oh, just another major point, a really big point, I know the answer, how many of you losing negative doubters do..??

HOW MANY RED CARDS IN A LEICESTER SHIRT, did Marcin see.

Save me opening another thread, for the inuators and poor posters.

How many Reds has the German giant Robert Huth seen in Leicester colours....

Just want to mention it again, Because He and Huth, deserve somebody on this forum to stick up for them,

for the small percentage of criticism and poor inuendo and comments, that have been posted pre-matches.

1 who's earnt in a small period the word Legend, another who is working damn well to earn that right also.

Absolutely love the bloke, monster of a player and has given his all in every match he's played. Biggest disappointment ever that his only goal was in our worst performance of the last few years at Old Trafford, anything else and I probably would have been on the pitch.

Remember talking to a Polish guy on holiday, not long after we'd signed him- Piotr, I think. Don't think he'd ever heard of Leicester. When I mentioned Was, his face lights up.

What else do we need to know?

Probably my favourite player.

Remember people on here saying sooner or later he'd get sent off for an elbow blah blah lol

To be fair, there's been a few critical incidents where he got away for smashing an opposing player - it's just that he's been so clever that the referees didn't notice any of it. lol

The Ekstraklasa at the moment isn't really reflecting the powers that usually are - I mean, Piast Gliwice are in first spot! Piast!

To be fair though, Piast have deserved their position. Lech were garbage until Urban came in, and similar with Legia and Berg. The points split will close it all up though.

His goal against Manchester United was the first by a Polish player in the Premier League since August 18th 1992 - 8200 days. That was scored by Everton's Robert Warzycha - in the very same end at Old Trafford, against Man United.

That's the best "interesting fact" I've seen on FoxesTalk for a long time. As a follow-up, it seems that Warzycha was the first player from mainland Europe to score in the Premier League and 1 of only 13 players from outside the British Isles to play on the very first weekend of the PL (amazing; I thought there were already more by the 80s - memory playing tricks, apparently).

Shockingly, our Wasyl isn't credited in that Wikipedia list of foreign goalscorers. I've contacted them to inform them of their shameful omission.

Like many, I miss not having Wasyl in the starting line-up and would miss him even more if he left. Never less than 100% focused commitment to the cause of the team.

Huth got done for pace 2-3 times v. Bournemouth, so it wouldn't entirely surprise me if Wasyl won his place back at some point, particularly as Claudio now clearly sees him as a better option than Benalaoune.

My encounter with Wasyl in the Old Horse pub soon after he arrived still brings a smile to my face. I just popped in for a quick jar to break the walk home from the station - and there he was at a table, apparently unrecognised by anyone else (or they were too scared to speak to him). He was with a compatriot, who was jabbering away in Polish (I presume) on his mobile. Wasyl just sat silently enjoying a pint of Guinness. You don't realise the power of the bloke until you see him up close - chest and shoulders as wide as a barn, biceps bigger than my thighs. I didn't want to bother  him, so just had a quick word as I left, wishing him well for his career at LCFC. He just smiled and shook my hand firmly. "Of course!", he said. Looking back, he seemed like a character from a James Bond film!  :D

Don't want to take all of the credit, but I did predict his goal on my Instagram pre-match.

He was brilliant v Everton..

Didn't deserve to lose his place to Huth in my opinion.

Sure he'll be awesome v Spurs on Sunday.. He's NEVER let us down.

What a man.. What a Professional!

After these countless rants about Wasyl being a walking liability, it's good to see that so many folks here appreciates him and his skills :)

Up there with Vardy and Mahrez in terms of being absolute gems from our scouting team

He'd been out of contract for half a season after playing in the Belgium leagues and he turned out to be an absolute rock in defence, helping us get promoted and stay in the league. Surely one of our most consistent performers too, can't remember him ever having a bad game.
