Bamba's Babes Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Our scouting is good but our negotiators must be utter tosh. How many rejected bids can one club get?
ktfox59 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Our scouting is good but our negotiators must be utter tosh. How many rejected bids can one club get? I'm guessing that it's difficult for us to attract quality players without too much fuss is, yes we came up from the championship but the players we wanted looked and thought relegation certainties. We had no track record to speak of then. So it was through a shed load at EC to give us that look of ambition for the season.Two. Get to January and we are in exactly in the position players thought we would be so wouldn't sign for us. Again we chucked a shed load of fee for Kram hoping for him to be our saviour, ironically hardly got a look in, Three. Went on an amazing 13 game run against all the odds and found ourselves 14th, looking forward to the start of the new season with optimism, only for players to openly and public ally state that they didn't want to come to is, with some exceptions of course., It's that thing of feared relegation with a team that's not fashionable. So now we find ourselves top with 15 to play, clubs hold us to rand some and players still probably look at us with caution and think back and possibly think fluke? With the TV money' so much for every team next season, they will be able to compete in the market just as easy so therefore the pressure may well be back on us to be able to go back to back performance wise. So though we have a great chance of C L this season, and it's not a shoe in, players may wonder about signing a four year contract with a team that may be mid table ala Chelsea this season. I think that we are definitely looking for a striker that can give us that edge over the next 15 games and get into the CL, then worry about next season in the summer window. I suppose the club view it that way too. Hefty contracts over a good few years and a real pressure to repeat. Two or three seasons consistently top 6 will make players look up and think, this is a club that can compete at elite national level. I want to be a part of that. Clearly the teams that sit near the bottom of the league have a reputation of being established premier league teams, so it appears easier for them to get their signings through the door. Newcastle for example have spent over 30m on on fees alone. Let alone wages and in the market for more. Villa, over 5 in the summer window? It goes on with other clubs. We maybe have to accept that although we sit proudly on top of the league. We aren't there yet with regard to solid standing as a club to want to sign for. Of course selling clubs make it harder as we try to establish and cement or place at a table nearer the front by inflating fee demands because they know we need these kind of players to start to compete with the hard hitters.

Itsthejoeker Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Slimani ! You're going to be really disappointed on Monday night.
Finnegan Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 You're going to be really disappointed on Monday night. I'd be disappointed if we were linked to Remy, Aboubakar and Musa and ended up with Slimani tbh. No idea why people have such a hard on for Slimani.

Buce Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 No idea why people have such a hard on for Slimani. Me neither. I don't like any Italian sausage..
filbertstreet Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Me neither. I don't like any Italian sausage.. if we win the league I'd have a go at ranieri's italian sausage
Buce Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 if we win the league I'd have a go at ranieri's italian sausage You'll be at the back of a long queue..
benpicko Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Why are people in other threads saying we're getting Aboubakar when there's literally zero new information in here?
