SecretPro Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Only one team has scored more than us this season despite not scoring in the last 3 games. We definitely don't badly need a striker. We have one striker who's scored more than three goals and a winger who's compensating for the others.

It's like Barcelona having Neymar, Messi & Danny Graham and saying they don't need to replace Graham with Suarez because those three are scoring enough between them despite Neymar & Messi getting 99% of them.
hackneyfox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Vardy and Mahrez are unlikely to score 29 goals but the defence won't be shipping 25 either. We still need at least 5 more players and support/cover for Vardy/Mahrez is vital.

We may have scored a lot but that's down to 2 players - and one of them is a winger. So we could do with another top striker.

Thracian Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 It's not just about the strikers, it's also about the players setting up goals - and that doesn't just include Vardy or Mahrez. So it is indeed a team effort. You could also argue that in order to improve our team, we could take a look at our defense and either add another CB or work on our shortcomings in training. Can't see a lot wrong with our defence or it's cover other. But we're decidedly short of another goals machine and, for all that I'm pleased that other people have started to weigh in with goals and assists I reckon we should really be aiming for having six to eight fairly regular contributors in any team selection in terms of goals and/or assists. We're a long way from that in terms of consistency but there has been some improvement of late not only related to the contributors but to the efforts we seem to be making trying to improve our set plays and the number of players trying to have a pop at goal. It's still a work in progress and one that won us the league game against Spurs (Fuchs to scorer Huth), and helped us get in front in the Cup (Gray to Wasilewski and King to Shinji) - goals which involved five non-regular provider/scorers.
