AKCJ Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Expecting 10-15 goals from any new striker coming in is laughable, there's only 18 games left. Precisely.
filbertway Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I never said that I didn't rate him, but expecting 10-15 goals from Austin between now and the end of the season is laughable. It won't happen. To quote Dwight Shrute - "Egg on my face" Didn't properly read what you were quoting. I just assumed you were writing him off as a decent signing haha. Going off this season, I think he'd struggle to play 10 games given how much he has been injured. Wouldn't be against taking a look at him in the summer and assessing whether he is still capable of playing the majority of a season.
dylanlegend Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Expecting 10-15 goals from any new striker coming in is laughable, there's only 18 games left. Vardy has 15 in 19 games and Austin scored 4 times the amount he did last season. If anyone was to score 10 goals in 18 games for us Austin would be a decent bet. Whether he'd link up well with Vardy is another question.
Great Boos Up Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I thought we put £12 million on the table for Austin last summer and QPR turned it down. If he wanted he could have kicked up stink to leave. Sod QPR and sod him, we can get better.

Darkon84 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 FFS are people still bleating on about Austin? Take it elsewhere would you!
lgfualol Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I hope if this is happenin, it happens soon. I'm bored and want new signings. also Charlie Austin can do 1

Sod QPR and sod him, we can get better. I remember people saying the same about Kanté, glad we carried on pursuing him. Some people are so precious. Don't actually know too much about this guy, looks quite powerful and tricky from the youtube highlights but it's hard to take too much from a highlights reel. Haven't they recently sold Martinez to Atletico? They're going to have no strikers left at this rate.

Sod QPR and sod him, we can get better. The fact he isn't kicking up a fuss and wanting to go to a Pl club ti get I to the Euro's squad tells you everything. He is waiting till he can leave in the summer on a fat signing on fee and a club probably a bit higher than he could get to now because he'd be on a free. **** him, we can do better anyway.
dorsetboy Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 well never mind about austin lets get back to aboubaker hes a very good player strong and quick but at most places he has been he has played as the lone striker ? i wonder if he would be the same player playing in a 2 with his positional sense and his understanding of playing in a 2 ? i know you may laugh but im comparing him to rondon who is the same type of player and played as a lone striker in russia so west brom took a gamble on him but in a 2 man strike force and he not exactley set the prem alight . i suppose when you get to where we are then the gambles are much bigger on players if you spend 300k on a flop its not to bad but 10-15 million is a bigger gamble
Giggsy77 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 @thefirmBL SOURCES: #Leicester want to sign Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar to ease the pressure on Jamie Vardy. Talks at a very early stage. Looks like we have opened talks if this source is a reliable one. Who is ITK? I dont know

Stadt Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Porto are a selling club though, if the price is right for them he's gone
desertfox2 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Surely this is a non starter anyway, I love leicester don't get me wrong but why would he want to move to us when he's playing every week for Porto, who are pretty much nailed on to be in the champions league every season. Money?? Yes this may tempt him but can't see this happening Money, play in the prem, 2nd in league, chance to join a team he's likely to play in. If he does well in prem could end up on crazy wages somewhere. Fame on another level. Morrisons. Chance for salt and vinny walkers if he scores 12 in a row. Or Smoky bakar actually forget that one incase.

EverybodyDannsNow Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 There are reports that Porto have just sacked their manager. That may have an influence on this deal. Hopefully the money we offer will be accepted by the new manager who will want funds to make his own additions to the team.
ARM1968 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Rather have this guy that the 45 year old from Roma. He even makes me look young.

Just checked, he's bin on our wish list for over a year!

I think it would take a few games just to get up to fitnese of our squad
LCFC hub Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Can we stop talking about Austin!! Please!! I'm sure he has his own thread...
dmayne7 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 3 goals in his last 16 games in a very poor league?! Have people actually seen him play or are we just going off the incredible football manager stats. Definitely rather take Doumbia mid season. Less risk.

Have people actually seen him play or are we just going off the incredible football manager stats. Definitely rather take Doumbia mid season. Less risk. Not sure where you've got those stats from. He has 11 goals in 23 appearances this season (incluing 3 goals in the Champions League) and the Portuguese League is rated as the 6th best in the world.
stix Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 the Portuguese League is rated as the 6th best in the world. Don't get me wrong, I'd like us to sign this guy, but stating the Portuguese league is the SIXTH best league in the world is nothing to shout about. It's definitely not a very good 'selling point' anyway.
