jaqo88 Posted 20 November 2016 Posted 20 November 2016 Devastating end to the day, great application shown but it'll will be oh so tough to get anything out of this one.
Corky Posted 20 November 2016 Posted 20 November 2016 Shame that Dharmasena managed to get one correct at the end.
StanSP Posted 20 November 2016 Posted 20 November 2016 How far do you lot think Hameed can go? Loved what I've seen of him and looks a great talent. He has brilliant temperament and is very composed and adept to handling any kind of situation within a game. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
surrifox Posted 21 November 2016 Posted 21 November 2016 I must say that the pitch hardly provided an equal contest between bat and ball and as such is probably unsuited for test cricket . However at least 3 of this England touring side also match that description
Crinklyfox Posted 21 November 2016 Posted 21 November 2016 A few things have become apparent from this tour: 1. We have an opening bat who looks comfortable in the role. I can't see anyone dislodging Hameed any time soon. 2. There's a vacancy for an England No.4 who can play spin. Duckett looks vulnerable right now and it will only destroy his confidence if he carries on without improving his technique. 3. We don't have three spinners who can match the class of the Indian spinners. Our strength is in pace so provided the wicket will respond we may just as well put Woakes back into the team.

We've desperately needed somebody to lock down this position and fingers crossed we have that man. He's only 19 years old but as you say looks like he has the mental attributes required, let's hope he can kick on even further!
RowlattsFox Posted 21 November 2016 Posted 21 November 2016 With hindsight should probably have chased the victory in the first test but it would have been a brave decision. We've gone through so many batsmen its hard to see who is next, not sure Duckett will ever be a test player. Maybe a return for Ian Bell?
foxy boxing Posted 21 November 2016 Posted 21 November 2016 another weak display, oh well. they at least could have put up a bit of a fight
marko Posted 22 November 2016 Posted 22 November 2016 You might want to steer clear from any Australian Chardonnay 2016 Vintage, the grapes have gone sour! https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/nov/22/du-plessis-lollygate-and-the-airport-scuffle-needless-faff-over-a-trivial-issue Very good write up on how daft it all is.
foxy boxing Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 unbelievable the amount of ball tampering that actually goes on now! players now need to be searched for boiled sweets before they go onto the field
leicsmac Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 Good grief, win the toss and still can't get it right. Really need to pull out the stops tomorrow, anything bigger than a 50 run lead for India and not even having them bat last will save us.
foxy boxing Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 so exactly what are England going to takeaway from defeat to India a nice curry perhaps
Crinklyfox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 One swallow doesn't make a summer but an excellent start to his England career from Keaton Jennings. Only a few months we were searching for an opener to partner Cook and now it looks like we have two.

leicsmac Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Well, early days but it seems that we could have found our opener and no.3 for the foreseeable future.
Captain... Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 It's a shame that Duckett didn't do well, otherwise that would be our top order sorted for a while. Cook Jennings Hameed Root Duckett Stokes Bairstow Ali Woakes Broad Anderson
Finnegan Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Seth Efrika having a good session there against India.
foxy boxing Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 really great achievement by Keaton Jennings and hopefully we will see a lot more of him and maybe he can learn of Joe Root to become a world class player.it's early days and he will need to stay focused and grounded but it is really good when you find a player that might be able to step up to international class
Corky Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Root and Bairstow playing well at the moment. A draw is no good however, we need to score over 400 in quick time then hope they become too eager.

ealingfox Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Could be the end of Cook's captaincy this. He sounded like he was coming round to the idea and this is just embarrassing. Got to hand it to a great India batting lineup but nobody usually struggles to take wickets as badly as this across a whole series and our batsman certainly haven't been keeping hold of theirs.
