Guest Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Abramovich to take him. http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2016/01/15/19364172/-? No way he will leave us IMO. He'll retire a Fox like he said when he arrived. He has been great for us but we have also been fantastic for him. Genuine man.
GaelicFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Not a hope He already had the foxes in his soul ! His soul cannot be bought !
Wymsey Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 'Long term successor'; how long does that mean? Ranieri is 64; and given how excellent his current team is doing, he will 99.99% want to stay and compete at the top with no pressure on him at the moment.
Gerard Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I may have milk bottle thick blue tinted spectacles on but I think Ranieri would be crazy to leave us for anybody, even Real Madrid. He has a lot of influence at Leicester and can be here for years if he wants to be. We can give him a team to mould and only the very best players are out of our reach. He could go to a bigger club and be sacked within a year, I'm sure at his age he would like to settle at a club and try to build a dynasty rather than be somewhere different every year. He's been nomadic all his managerial life.
Fox92 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Even if it was true (which I highly doubt) I wouldn't return to a place that sacked me after finishing 2nd behind an unbeaten and superb side.
Buzzell Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 As if he would go back there after they sacked him so they could bring in 'The Special One'
Finnaldo Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Agree with Gerard. He's never had and never will get a setup this perfect in his managerial career again. He's got a total lack of pressure (maybe a bit more now with renewed expectations but bar a disastrous collapse the top four finish is well and truly on), a decent pot to spend and more than anything walked into a squad that have real spirit, respect each other's roles and are eager to work under him. with Amartey inbound there's a more than solid squad, the only weakness maybe up top but with Vardy back to full fitness and Okazaki picking up form the sky's the limit here. No doubt on Earth he'll stay.
LegendOfJoe Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 he's probably enjoying management more here than he has done in his entire life, during an interview he explained his 'latin anger' and said that it never really comes out because everyone knows what they are doing. why would he leave a club that could make history and he can go down in premier league folk law
GeorgeTheFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Think he could do a job for them in midfield
RoyFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 He'll never go back, once bitten twice shy - was treated like dirt by Abramovich
MPH Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Think he could do a job for them in midfield Better than John Terry in defense right now...
Webbo Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 doubt there's much in this but I wouldn't blame him if he took it.
MPH Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 doubt there's much in this but I wouldn't blame him if he took it. I would! We have a much better chance of playing in Europe than chelsea do right now....
Countryfox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 No way he's going anywhere .... Unless he's got a son who can't play football, who's signs for us and they all go off on a jolly to the Far East.
sylofox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 doubt there's much in this but I wouldn't blame him if he took it. I would our owners showed faith in him when no one wanted him. If he walked out now it's just for money. So I would blame him and hold it against him if he does he can FOAD.
Countryfox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Return of the Nige, once again! Better give him a call quick and tell him to get off at the next stop ... He's on a train to Bristol.
Thracian Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Didn't Ranieri say he wanted the Leicester job to be his last managership?. Mind you he also said we'd probably finished our business in the transfer window but I'll put that down as sound tactics! Besides, why would he really want to leave the fabulous situation he finds himself in at Leicester? No-one could describe our owners as fair-weather bosses who'll change their manager on a whim. Chelsea have done it all before anyway but at Leicester the bloke would be making history and writing chapters that would be remembered forever. There comes a time when the financial noughts don't matter much. Surely Ranieri would be briiliantly paid at Leicester just the same but it seems to me the challenge at Chelsea would be full of risk and the challenge at Leicester full of folklore and the kind of sporting fairytales that fathers would pass down to their kids for generations to come. At Chelsea he'd always be just another big name manager in a long line - dispensible if a better option came along. At Leicester he could be not just a managerial legend - but the greatest in their history.

Why would he leave a project he's just started, that's second (joint top) in the league, with supporting owners who will invest to go to a team that booted him out after laying a foundation and that lie 16th in the league? If he was younger and it was a long term love or they wanted him to build a legacy I would get it. Also, they just brought in Hiddink and he's being allowed to invest. Lazy journalism IMHO
4everfox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Ranieri going back to Chelsea would be like someone going back to their ex even though they cheated on them down the pub every weekend. Only a desperate fool would do so and Claudio is neither.
MPH Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 He's being lauded about by alot of people as pretty much the messiah right now for where we are in the league... Why would he put himself under the Abramovich bullet again?
Buce Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 He has completely restored his reputation as a coach here. Leaving for Chelsea would sully his honour, and he strikes me as an honourable man.
Heymister2015 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 The is a real project! Chelsea is spend lots if money and hope for the best!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 The is a real project! Chelsea is spend lots if money and hope for the best! Get sacked even if you win trophies too. Like the Real Madrid job
