Spurs (H) FA cup 3rd round replay 0-2 post match

To be fair, Ranieri was making the changes as they got their second and effectively ended the tie. I don't think its any secret that we have a weaker squad than Spurs, but today was a good opportunity to see the likes of Inler (whom I thought really grew into the game), Chilwell (looked excellent), Gray (lively, but has a lot to learn and faded quite badly) and Benny (a ball playing centre back, who would be getting in to sides that play a different system to ours).

Personally, I think the scoreline flattered them, and I'm not too disappointed with the result. Now the second string have had a run out, they can be used if/when needed in the league. For example, I think Inler is now ready to start partnering kante if needed, and Chilwell can certainly add some pace and attacking intent if we are chasing a game.

We are now playing like relegation team to be honest. Thank goodness we have already gotten to over 40 points. Think our real team have finally shown up. Ah well was good while it lasted. Poor all over the field. Bad tactics, formation and team selection. sorry Claudio you really got this one wrong again. Suppose not easy conjuring up magic with the players you have. I think we need some new blood to strengthen. Won't happen though until the summer I guess. Oh well yes we are safe.

That was poor show from the lads. First half was toothless.

My highlight of the day was Chilwell, should be a top LB in few years. I'm not at all worried if Fuchs get injured cause he's got a more than decent replacement in the youngster.

Now Claudio go sign a proper striker please.

Shouldn't have even had to have played that game.

But we looked pretty uninterested. Gray decent as was chilwell.

We need a win against Stoke on Saturday.

7 consecutive games without trying to attack the opposition.

CR set us up all wrong and showed what is creeping into our ranks - FEAR. we should have been set up to go balls out at these tonight. Got what we deserved and I think this is just the start.

The start of what?? Behave mate he lost to a better second string that's all.

Revert to old tactics and start Gray in the league. Stop the negative tactics bollocks.

Changes I would have made.

Vardy for Ulloa, Okazaki for Inler and Mahrez/Albrighton for Dyer.

I understand he wants to keep players fit for the next game but surely the focus should be winning the game in front of you and seeing as we were a goal down it seemed a bit weird to me to take off first team players instead of the second string players.

On a positive that no one else seems to have mentioned there was less hoofball tonight and more passing on the floor.

Chilwell was great for 88 minutes and a great prospect but you can't switch off for a moment at this level as he found out tonight.

They were better but there wasn't that much in it. And we got the league points from them.

Claudio said a few months back that the "bad moment will come".  Now here it is.  Villa game felt like a defeat and this match showed we need more quality if we are to stay were we are in the league.  I know we've had one fcuking awesome season so far, far better than any of us could have expected, but I can just see us throwing something special away.  We need a striker, need to keep Kante fit, and start pressing again instead of playing 11 men behind the ball unless we're losing.

Leo, Dyer and Albrighton worst of an average display for me.

Demarai and Chilwell played well but that side was always going to concede us a goal because of top level inexperience.

Inler as a CDM gravitates to the ball and just leaves so much space in the hole.

What did Albrighton do wrong?

as @@Fox said all those years ago

lol Always manage to make me laugh when the the chips are down.

Hope you have that bad boy to hand for the next few weeks.

We need to play without fear... it is like we are trying to just draw or win 1 nil, that football gets you no where... we did that for a couple of months last season and didn't win one single game

As soon as I saw the starting line-up for our first match against Spurs my personal interest in the cup was lost so I'm not too bothered we are out.

However, if that was a boxing match it would have been stopped pretty early.

We have huge tactical problems that need sorting as an immediate priority because we are stealing our position in the league at the moment.

The way we've set up in the past few matches has been absolutely abhorrent.  I swear to god Ranieri will have the players sitting so deep soon they'll be man-marking their own Sky+ boxes.

If Ranieri gave a toss about the FA Cup then he wouldn't have played Ulloa up front on his own. I think he was dead right, let's get out of it, get everyone fit and firing in the league and keep proving people wrong.

Soooooooo please can someone tell me what I'm missing about Ulloa - why is he being played - what is Claudio seeing that I'm not!??!

For his world class first touch of course
