Spurs (H) FA cup 3rd round replay 0-2 post match

Cup game, lot of people not normally there, plus the football was shit and everyone could see it was, fans cheer and get excited with attacking fast football, not defending. Defending is boring and should be banned.

True. I don't usually go (student, live far away, can't afford etc) but I felt I needed to try to get something started. Maybe fans getting behind our players may have spurred (sorry for that word) them on to play a bit better. There was one other guy at the back of SK4 singing all through the game, he didn't lose heart like me. Fair play to the guy.

Our fans were clapping along to the Spurs' fans chants. It was embarrassing.

I guess this shows the power of the 12th man.

Schlupp and Cattermole as a left side winger, midfield pairing is a force Col dreams of. I wonder if schlupps invited to his wedding with Cattermole being the best man ofcourse

Just cos you've not got an invite!

Stop being sore about it...

Things we learnt tonight:

Spurs reserve team is better than ours.

Ulloa does not deserve to be playing for us right now.

Dyer cannot stay on his feet for more than a few seconds.

Gray is turning out to be an absolute bargain.

WE NEED TO BUY A STRIKER NOW.

Well, I thought Spurs were quality tonight. Composed in possession and scored two very good goals. Gray, Inler and King our best players. Credit where it's due, Spurs are a class outfit and that showed tonight. Defensively and attacking impressive.

All these "chilwell was quality posts"........ **** me for the Son goal he didnt get anywhere near him, he didnt close down, he didnt try and stop a shot, he literally did nothing. Terrible defending.

Sell sell sell sell!! As a defender your taught to usher a player wide- it was just a quality finish. If your saying he should have done better so should Kasper

Course it's not the sole reason..but we do miss his bursting runs forward. He's under-rated. Always has been.

underrated or not we were doing just fine for probably the best three month period of our recent history. something's changed and isn't quite right, but schlupp not playing and now schlupp still not playing isn't the biggest of issues, far from it

The game was won and lost in the midfield. Erikssen pulled all the strings, King was non existent for most of the game and I have no idea what Inler offers, except a few sideways passes.

It's easy to blame Ulloa.. He ain't good, but where was his supply? Dyer was horrendous, there was nothing for Ulloa to feed off at all. The only shining light was Gray..but he's young and needs to be playing in a side creating chances.

Thank God we've signed Kante. If we were relying on that midfield week-in, week-out we'd get battered.

King looked pedestrian tonight, almost as if he realised we weren't that committed to winning. Yes, he still passed the ball more consistently than most but, for both their goals I didn't think he was tight enough, he left a runner and on other occasions might have been much more alert and determined in the tackle.

Inler was almost exactly the Inler I'd seen in the past. Lightweight, iffy on the ball, unreliable, not mean or decisive enough, inclined to go to ground too often and still taking a touch too many and never imposing as a holding or fulcrum midfielder should be.

Dyer didn't offer anything of significance down the right and, for an experienced player, was absolutely shamed by the youngsters Gray and Chilwell who both coped admirably given the degree of responsbility they had to shoulder in the absence of anything special from those around them .

Oh come off it. You'll be saying my granny would have done better next. We all know that's not true.

I bet she could give Dire a run for his money.

Yes, and the more negative the football becomes, which it has since the liverpool game, the more negative the 12th man will be. We were depressing in the first half and so was the crowd.

Our best performances this season - Swansea away, Newcastle away. Ulloa in the team. Schlupp not.

You can say they're two poor teams but so are Villa and Bournemouth, and we played almost the same lineups against both of them recently.

So we can all kid ourselves that Schlupp is the reason we're out of form and that Ulloa is a donkey who's never had a good game, but it's not true.

And how anyone can say Ranieri was desperate to win the game tonight having heard his post match interview and seen us initially pick one first choice outfield player is beyond me. He saw it as a reserve game, and that's exactly what it was.

Very true, but kanes still a cvnt.

Chilwell was our best player closely followed by Gray. As someone said he ushered Son wider but that's a hell of a finish he had.

Ulloa is so frustrating, Dyer was abysmal and Benalouane looked shaky to me. Ranieri clearly wasn't bothered in the tie as at 0-1 he could've changed it maybe on 60 mins. When they score on 66 it was game over.

Spurs played really well their possession footy was class. Two really well taken goals and their "choir boy" fans were outstanding. A little annoying at the end singing "you're ****ing shit" etc.

Home fans were like zombies tonight

Half of their first team better than our reserves, yes.

I hope we go back to the more adventurous style of play of early season against Stoke, if we don't we won't win... something just hasn't been right with the last few games, and Vardy not being able to train, Mahrez not looking himself certainly hasn't helped that. It is a sure sign that we must buy in a couple of players if we are going to maintain top 4. The teams that are realistically fighting for the top 4 all have bigger squads than ours, we have a great opportunity and I would hate to not take it

I think you'll find it's been my reaction to the over reaction to the last 2 games!

Any fan of our club that isn't realistic that a blip of some description wasn't coming is patently deluded.

The reactions to the inevitable is the crazy thing not my calm down and don't kneejerk!

The player and game management in the his difficult period is actually very good we've not lost games and a couple could have been very different!

We are still in a massively strong position with just the league to focus on!

I say take a reality check and stop acting like petulant children with sbsolutely no sense of perspective.

I used to think that but if we want to be looking for European football this season or next then he's not good enough for this level. He offers very little but pace, it's all very well pulling two defenders to you, if you can't pass or shoot accurately then they'll probably clean up. He's certainly not a defender, he'll never be a striker and we have a few wide players who are far more effective.

I think this argument about Ranieri not being bothered is bollox.

The players were clearly trying. There was no lack of effort.

What was lacking was quality. Apart from Erikssen (head and shoulders above everyone else) and flashes of excitement from young Gray, we had no quality We couldn't keep the ball, the supply from the midfield was non existent and we never looked like scoring.

Very very poor tonight.

Someone must have forgotten to tell Erikssen he plays for us.

Was trying to reply to bluetintedspecs post. One of the only posts that makes sense. Yes tonight was poor, but we need to keep everything in perspective - its still in our hands to finish in the top 4 and its coming to the end of January. Barring a disaster we'll still be in the top 4 on the 1st of March, around the same time the European games are back = happy days!!

Ulloa was so bad it's beyond words, fair enough up top on his own for the first half was always gonna be hardwork, but it says something when chilwell won more in the air and looked more of an attacking threat then he did, we sat far too deep and invited them onto us,dyer was awful, positives were chilwell, Gray looked very good, inler had a fairly solid game, other then that it was terrible
