Value for Money

Recommended Posts

Most of our recent buys have been terrible value for money (Kante excepted). Benalouane, Inler, Okazaki, Ulloa and Kramaric have made no impact and are now worth less than half their purchase price.

Our best buys seen to be frees like Fuchs and Albrighton or low risk buys like Mahrez, Vardy, Huth etc.

Seems like the higher the fee the greater the chances of failure.

Swing and roundabouts. We've had Mahrez, Vardy and Kante at bargain prices. Plus Okazaki seems to be coming into a bit of form at last. Could be worth the money if he pops in some crucial goals.

It's really nothing when you think that Chelsea paid £50m for Torres, Liverpool 35m Carrol + Benteke, Man City £40m+ for Mangala, Bournemouth £7m Grabban, etc

Wasn't Inler only about £2-3m?

If you have seen any of Okazakis post match interviews you couldn't possibly argue that he isn't value for money.

His smile is worth more than £6m alone. lol

Pound for pound we've got the best side in the division.

I'd argue that we've got the best pound for pound side in Europe.

Add their transfer fees together and you don't even come close to the Andy Carroll fee let alone the Torres one! Ulloa's goals kept us up last season. Okazaki is getting there and has scored some important goals already, Inler was one of the better players last night and has improved in every game he has played and Benalouane hasn't had his chance yet but looks pretty solid.

How can you say Okazaki is not value. He's been here 6 months and had a great start and is improving again in recent weeks. He's still adapting to the league ffs.

Cuz e ant scored 20 goals intit.

You can't really judge players' values based on their 1st team appearance especially when the 1st team is performing so well.

you also need to consider that some players depending on where they've come from and what level they've been playing at take different lengths of time to acclimatise. It's much harder to do that if your not playing or playing in the U21s.

All peanuts now, if you think clubs are spending alot now wait until the new TV deal kicks in.

Ulloa played a key role in our safety, value for money.

No chance. European sides are that much better value pound for pound than ours in general that it's pretty laughable really. You compare how much a team in La Liga cost to put together to one over here and it's quite shocking. I bet the vast majority of this league outspent Villarreal acquiring their squads.

But in the Premier League, I can't think of anyone who's is better. I was thinking about this the other day... what teams actually have cheaper squads than ours? Norwich maybe?

benny and inler both ranieri buys; wouldnt class any of the others apart from kramaric as bad buys

Has Benalouane been bad then? News to me.. I thought he's done well when he has come in. Unfortunate for him we have a settled side and back 4 now that are churning out results.

Kramaric isn't just bad either..

got fuchs for free, that's pretty good value for money

not a better free transfer in the league!

Our back 4 cost about 5 mill?? our starting midfield about 7 mill and strikers about 7 mill. Value for money all over the pitch!

Our record signing remains at £9 million for Kramaric last season, which is still peanuts - especially bearing in mind our league position at present! I think bearing that in mind, that is why most neutrals want us to finish in the top four! We've done astonishingly well ever since he was signed a year ago, even though he's been overlooked for reasons unknown. Along with Kramaric, the likes of Benaloune and Inler haven't been afforded a regular run in the side either unfortunately to be able to gather any form and enable a true indication of their real worth.

Okazaki is certainly value for money. You don't buy a word class striker for £7 million. He started the season very well, struggled a bit for a run of games but is coming good again. I'm sure the club is benefiting from his signing off the field too.

This

People classing benny as a bad buy is silly, he's not really been given a chance, but has done well when played, bearing in mind there is no reserve league, so little game time.

Kramaric never really been given a run of games, and when he got a little run, was played as a lone striker, and then the odd cup game early in the season, not seen enough to say he's poor.

Inler has been slow to get up to speed, but is growing into the league, again wouldn't say a bad buy, as can do a job.

Just seems that because the first 11 have exceeded this season, those not really given a chance to shine, are being classed as bad buys.

Dyer and Leo apart, the squad has done well considering the lack of game time, when called upon.

Claiming that Ulloa wasn't value for money when his goals kept us in the Prem last season is laughable.

Okazaki has made an impact and seems to be getting better and better.

Benny looks a handy player and I'm confident in him when he gets a chance.
