Loic Remy

Are people really saying no because he came off the bench and looked rusty yesterday?

He's quick, tall, scores goals wherever he goes and has never particularly struck me as lazy or a problem personality?

:dunno:

Could do much worse.

I wouldn't mind him but he didn't look good coming off the bench against Arsenal.

He's definitely better than Ulloa and he needs game time. He has also got a good goalscoring record so I can't see why we wouldn't be in for him.

Please not - we can surely do better than that! There's the odd exception but I don't much like loan players anyway.

Have you seen his goal scoring record? He is a French International and people turning their nose up  lol

Foxes talk ? Really you wouldn't take remy? Based on 20mins vs Arsenal?

I'd take him on loan all day long!!

We need options up top Leo ain't good enough for a top four team ...

Leicester have turned him down too, that says it all

We don't need another player who needs x weeks to settle in, to be fit, to shake off injuries, or any other excuse. We want a talented up-and-running striker who can come in or on when required score/make goals and fit in with the team's philosophy. Remy looked about as sharp as a foam mattress.

Definitely would take him short term.

14 in 26 while he was on loan at Newcastle. Lets remember he doesn't play consistently for Chelsea so people shouldn't be judging him on a 20 minute performance coming off the bench.

If it's a goalscoring record you want we might as well sign Shearer!

Let's forget his record and judge the last 24 hours.

a) He's so good, already struggling Chelsea may still be prepared to loan him out.

b) He looked rusty against Arsenal - Finnegan's word and I can't better it.

c) That could have been because he was rusty and needs time to sharpen himself up. We want a striker now.

d) Or maybe he just wasn't focused?. Wrong attitude?

I suppose he might have been out of the side or recovering from injury (I really don't know) but either way, if he's below par and not good enough for Chelsea, he's hardly likely to be good enough for what we need.

Convince me people, by all means, but having watched that dismal game yesterday - including Remy's contribution, I'm underwhelmed.

Ulloa IS part of not just a top four team but the top team in this season's Premiership and was a part of our extraordinary recovery last season. Remy's seemingly not wanted by a team that's nowhere near the top four this season.

So is moussa Sissoko, it doesnt mean we should buy him does it?

Proven Prem goal scorer? No thanks.

No one has been good for Chelsea this season, does that mean you wouldn't take Hazard?

How silly is it to turn someone down because they were poor in their most recent appearance? We don't write off our own player after one bad performance.

I'm undecided about this one. I think he's underrated at Chelsea and should've played more often when Costa was behaving like a moody child.

Remy??? Probably is lacking actual match fitness and probably would take a week or two to get up to speed...But he HAS got PL experience and that's my worry regarding Eder, (or any of the other Foreign strikers we're being linked with)...Yes ideally we'd get someone in who's already 'up and running'  and in form.... Igloo or Deeney would be perfect, but there's next to no chance we'd land either. Can't see any PL team being willing to sell us one of their regular starters.

If it's to be just Remy then not sure....Him and Eder, (or Eder/Carillo), would be fine, but I can't really see us signing two!

Not sure why not. For me, we need two more strikers anyway and with Eder able to play out wide as well, two would cover two bases and probably complete our business. It still doesn't make me enthusiastic about Remy but I'll happily stand being proved wrong. It's clear the bloke has ability but we need a lot more than that.

It's more the attitude than the performance that got me. I didn't see a bloke with a desperation to win or prepared to give his all for the cause. Everyone has bad games but it's hard to think of anyone who hasn't given their all for Leicester in a Premiership game.

I'm not sure on this one. Strange that Mourhino wouldn't play him and now the new manager won't play him either. What's Remy's problem. ?

Although he was useful at Newcastle.

Some big assumptions there, based on 0 information, which is unlike you.

Why would you discount someone's scoring record too? Surely that is one of the first things that should be considered when signing a striker. This guy scores goals, and lots of them, frequently.

Judging him on 20mins is just stupid too. As bad as people writing off our own players with only small sub appearances.

Saying he is not good enough for Chelsea, well the starting 11, that is true, but they play with one striker and being kept out by Costa is no disgrace.

He is the one pushing for a move away from Chelsea because he wants to play and increase his chances of playing for France in the Euros. Hardly a "wrong" attitude you suggest.

You also said you don't want a player with "X" amount of time to settle in. I 100% agree. That is surely why signing a player who lives in the UK, plays in the Prem and has scored many goals in the Prem, is a better option than most, and would most likely take less time to settle and hit the ground running.

A very quick, experienced striker, with Prem experience and an excellent goal scoring record, who is frustrated and wants to play to boost his chance of playing in the Euros on a risk free 6 month loan...

Any player we bring in from overseas is probably going to take time to adjust to this league anyway so I don't see remmy's lack of game time being an issue. He knows the league really well and has the quality. Loan him for the season with an option to buy, the lad probably just needs a secure club to play for to get the best out of him. He's been shifted around a hell of a lot over the last few years, this despite showing some good form for most of the clubs he's been at. I would hope this isn't a reflection on his attitude as he seems to put in a shift (last sub appearance aside).

I watched that 20 minutes pretty closely and for a bloke you say is trying to prepare for the Euros he didn't seem at all sharp.

And why would he be guaranteed games at Leicester any more than Chelsea because nothing I saw suggests he'd get Vardy's place and why would we wish it?

His looking "rusty" at this stage of the season surprised me but I'm not necessarily convinced by your argument about settling in. Some settle quickly others don't.

As for him doing the pushing for a loan, again, does that really convey the right attitude? What should his priority be? Trying to do a job for Chelsea given chance or trying to work a move to satisfy his international ambitions? For me the next match is most important and in yesterday's match he didn't impress me much at all.

But like I said, I'll happily stand correcting.

See Ulloa Vs Spurs and then Vs Stoke. You can't judge a player on one performance.

Remy wouldn't play instead of Vardy, they would play alongside eachother. But as has been said previously, I think they are maybe too similar a player.
