MPH Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 I have a feeling we will end up with Remy. It wouldn't be the worst signing at all.... i wouldn't quite be in the 'underwhelmed' category but i wouldn't be super excited either...

If he could do that and we get 15 throughout the rest of the team. The way we have been defending we won't be far away.
thybluefox Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Watching everyone in this thread convince themselves they were always happy with the idea of us getting Remy will make my weekend! I, however, was always fine with it, obviously...

He'd probably be decent for us, and I think he would have the potential to score quite a few goals in a side that is full of confidence and quality.
Benguin Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Would rather Remy then no new signing. Not sure if I'd rather have Remy on the bench than Kramaric though.
ARM1968 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 He's not a bad player at all, but he's way down the list of expectations. We have probably a once in a lifetime shot at the title. It's not rocket. Pay the money and buy the player you want. Anyone trying to play hardball in the January transfer window is an idiot. Everyone gets their pants pulled down. Either lube up and enjoy the ride or just don't but anyone else.
Detroit Blues Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 If we're specifically signing a player to win now (and not in the future), Remy is probably our best bet. There'd be no time needed to acclimate to the premier league like we would with Musa or Eder. It would also make for an interesting story line, given that we play at Stamford Bridge on the last day of the season. Imagine him coming on against his old teammates with a chance for us to win the title or secure a champions league place.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Can see us moving for him on the final day as a panic buy. Wouldn't mind him here myself!
escos Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 He'll go to Newcastle as they will pretty much guarantee him regular football. He is desperate to play in the euros.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 I would love him here having seen him play before his move to Chelsea. The only thing that worries me is IF we do make a move for him he won't be able to slot in that number 10 role will he?
ktfox59 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Tbh I really could see this happening with or without another striker. Real options to get us over the line

desertfox2 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 If he is as good for us as he was for Newcastle and QPR he would be a great signing. He's in a very tough situation at Chelsea and just looks shot of confidence, doesn't mean he has suddenly become a bad player. Look at Bony at Man City he's not just suddenly become bad, just been unlucky with injuries and knows that he's not going to start get chucked in for 10 mins and then everyone asking why he's not scoring. Someone above Mentioned he would get 5-6 goals. In 15 games that could make all the difference. He's also a low risk signing really as he knows the league and it doesn't seem like chelsea will expect a big fee. Might be a not really exciting signing but could actually be the best option for us. Younger than Pele as well
Detroit Blues Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 I doubt he'd be eligible to play them If on loan, obviously not.
Thracian Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 It's never been the worst option - but would just be disappointing considering how high our hopes seemed to be. Don't think he'll come though and Chelsea need to understand we need another striker not a player in part exchange for a better one - which would still leave us needing a striker! I wouldn't have thought that was hard to grasp.
The Guvnor Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 If Remy is the best we can get then why change the current status quo
Thracian Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 If Remy is the best we can get then why change the current status quo You'd doubtless see why should Vardy get injured. How we've got into this situation baffles me. Strikers should be the first area you make strong not the last. As it is we've got just two regular goalscorers in our entire squad. Plenty of midfielders and defenders as ever, but just two consistent goalscorers for a game where goalscoring is paramount! It just leaves us so thin. I still think we need two attackers not one.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 That article makes no sense whatsoever.
4everfox Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Never thought I'd see the day where the thought of signing Loic Remy makes me sigh. Better please.

Raw Dykes Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 It's Remy http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-liverpool-arsenal-7266880 i won't be too disappointed if we get him. He's decent. If CR can get him playing at his best, then it will be a great signing. The main thing I was worried about was failing to sign another forward before the window closed, leaving us short.
LegendOfJoe Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Happy for Remy to see us to the end of the season. Undoubtedly if we qualify for champions league then we will sign a good striker meaning that Kramaric may go permanently and Ulloa may go. Remy as a back up striker to Vardy isn't a bad option and id be interested to see him playing alongside Vardy
