tony222 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 exactly An interesting theory but I think you are over thinking it. A much more likely scenario is that they wanted £16m for Remey but we wouldn't go higher than £11.5m so we said we would take him on loan and pay the extra if we make champions league. The only condition is as long as they loan us Cahill in the January transfer window If we are still still in the competition by then and pay 50% of his wages. They agreed as long as if they were still in the fa cup, we sold them Kante in the summer and Vardy as long as he has scored over 15 goals.
whoareyaaa Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I think Remy will do can't see us signing anyone else, thats all we need i reckon.
Robin JD Popley Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I know something I never eat yellow snow One of the two greatest pieces of advice my Dad's mate Dave taught me from a young age Bob. The other being, the only time you should worry is if the Pubs run out of alcohol. Then we are all in the mire! (In other news, this thread got real deep about 3 pages ago about racism and stuff. Wow.)

Guest Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 Would you care to explain how you know race has shaped other people's opinions? Or are you just using this as an opportunity to show off to yourself how wonderfully moral you are? It's hardly uncommon for white players to have their attitude questioned so I've no idea how you can claim to know Remy would be treated differently if he were white Been at work all day so missed the big racism hoopla, but some of what was being implied of people who might not rate Remy is not only sad but slightly terrifying. I'd like to think that if someone didn't understand my criticism of a particular player, that they wouldn't simply assume that i must be some thicko racist. That kind of generalisation does more damage than good. Having said that .... I'm not too enthused about signing Remy. Rather have him than no-one at all, but injuries and lack of playing time aside, his personality doesn't impress me much. Much prefer to have Musa despite having no premier league experience, as it sounds like his style of play, and his first class attitude would be a better fit. Remy on loan sounds like the best option at the moment.
MPH Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 Exactly nothing. Vardy being part of any deal in the summer is complete conjecture. Muzzy? We didn't pay much for him did we? Thought we paid around 800k for him, a bargain but could have got him for a fraction of that. We were originally quoted 65k for him but wanted to take him on loan first... He did so well the price ended up being 650k

Vardinio'sCat Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 Loan is much less risky than permanent, and I think we would be stuck paying huge wages on a permanent deal. I hope this is the back up plan because other names are more exciting, but if Remy was all we got, it is one hell of an upgrade on Kramaric.
MPH Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 We are top by 3 points without this elusive striker we are seeking. Signing someone with the undoubted skill of Remy is a win- win surely? It doesn't work? Send him back. He scores some Belters and fires us into the champions league, we could sign him permanently. OR go back in for the likes of Musa. What is there to lose?
Lambert09 Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 A very exciting signing, but dont believe anything until its over the line. I just check the forum once a day

It doesn't work? Send him back. He scores some Belters and fires us into the champions league, we could sign him permanently. OR go back in for the likes of Musa. What is there to lose? Team dynamic and then form? As you said, what we have works. If we look to change something in that it could alter some of the good things we have going. In contrast the January window is a time to inspire, build and improve. We could be adding to the squad in a way to prepare for what is ahead in a well educated manor and there are legitimate reasons for maybe looking to play Remy with Vardy whilst dropping Shinji/Leo more often, it could give us other options against different types of teams. In my own opinion of years in playing FIFA/FM & observing footy - In my hypothetical position would like to bring in someone young with potential who can do some of the business for us for the rest o the season and grow into the team for next year and beyond, I probably wouldnt want to add fourth 29 year old striker who deserves gametime. Remy's history in England also puts me off abit with QPR and Chelsea looking like a payday to fail in survival and a payday on the bench but who am I to judge, If hes ours and shows the right commitment I'll support him. I'd be happier to loan him right now though, 11.5m isnt nothing like some have been saying on here. Prove hes up to it first
Sydney Fox Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 I think Remy would be a great get, especially if it's just on loan initially. He's proven in this league and will hit the ground running. It doesn't mean we won't get one of our other targets in the summer, it's just another goal threat over the next couple of months.
GaelicFox Posted 31 January 2016 Author Posted 31 January 2016 so to recap Ron Atkinson is on FT A boozer has run out of booze somewhere And Remy is being loaned to us so we can pay 5m more in summer This thread is fecking NUTS
themightyfin Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 I'm sure you're right about the fee mate £650,000

katieakita Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 He needs game time with Euro 2016 looming and is not a nailed on starter so has to perform, the guy has a point to prove, and be part of something amazing in Premier league history, Sky also now saying a 11.5 million pound fee agreed

I dont think hes got a chance personally.
