Guest Col city fan Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 People take this transfer lark as though it's the easiest thing in the world. It's a lot more complex than that and the problem is that the coverage of it is so much more detailed. I think we've done well tbh - some would say well we are in the best situation ever but that doesn't change that we are still Leicester City and clubs will have been looking to fleece us Is it not just like FM then?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 this deadline day is seriously boring Aren't they all? Especially the mid-season ones? The only interesting one I can remember is 2008 when Berbatov went to Man United and Robinho went to Man City: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7590492.stm
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 0033: "Mark Hughes, what a legend... why sign Ronaldinho for £12m at 28, when you can get the next in line at 24 for £34m - what a signing! Wright-Phillips on one wing, Robinho on the other with Elano and Michael Johnson in the middle - class!" rfclegends on 606 Join the debate on 606

sphericalfox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 The biggest win this transfer window was keeping our biggest assets without a concrete whisper of teams linked with them. The Vardy talk was all bollux from the media. We've signed a couple of decent prospects, and we still are aiming to bring in a couple of strikers to support what we've got. I'd say that's a pretty good haul given the inflation of this window in general. Wait until the summer when it'll be ten times more speculation and links with everyone under the sun including our prize players.
Thracian Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Incredible that people can talk about an anti climax when we are top of the league in February. We aren't here by accident. We have a bloody good side. The thread is about whether the "window" has been an anti climax to people? The question doesn't doubt or question our achievements so far.
Thracian Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I love the transfer window hype but II fear this window could be an anti climax and underwhelming. Ok realistically, we shouldn't expect too much and it's probably the fact that we are top of the league causing all the rumours but I'd love us to make a real statement. I think we may well end up with a Loic Remy type signing come 11pm tomorrow at best. I suppose I don't mind as I'm sure it'll be right for the squad. At the end of the day I'm not in the managers position. I'd have liked Musa if honest after watching all the videos etc. We'll see though, can't wait for the sigh of relief following the 11 bells of tomorrow night! I'm 100% happy with the signing of Gray, Amartey and goalkeeper Iversen, all seem entirely positive steps. I'm a bit disappointed about losing Benny but can entirely understand it along with the other loan outs but wish a deal had been sorted for Inler as well. It terms of other targets it seems we've been trying hard enough and there's still a few hours left before midnight but it became clear it takes three to tango - the two clubs involved as well as the player - and there was always one or both people out of step with the other. Now, as time runs out and my fervent belief that we'd sign a worthwhile striker disappears, it's sure beginning to seem like a massive anti-climax and the waste of a wonderful opportunity. But then we don't really know the details or why Ranieri's declared "confidence" seems to have been so badly misplaced.
katieakita Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Anti climax!! time out. In the summer we were struggling to attract players that were seeing Marseille as a bigger club than us, Marseille have just signed Steven Fletcher now shows how far we have come now that is an anti climax.
SecretPro Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Well we ****ed that. Good luck if JV gets injured.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Actually quite angry that we left it this late.
The Doctor Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Anti climax!! time out. In the summer we were struggling to attract players that were seeing Marseille as a bigger club than us, Marseille have just signed Steven Fletcher now shows how far we have come now that is an anti climax. Marseille signing Steven Fletcher doesn't show how far we've come, and nor is us coming far over the last six months an anti-climax...
Arkie Bennett Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Any dildos on show tonight? I think Ian Holloway's on later.
Guest MattP Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Quite bemusing we've let Kramaric go with no 4th option. Let's just hope the other front 3 stay fit.
lgfualol Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 The positives are that the club might try and not leave things until the last day again, and we didn't get ripped off. We could probably sign Musa in the Summer for £10m if we get Champions League. Or Leicester will see it as a challenge and sign nobody in the Summer until August 31st.
yorkie1999 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 We're either not bothering to sign anyone or the choppers going to fly a big star in making headline news on sky with 5 minutes before deadline.
EnderbyFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Very frustrating to not get anything over the line, Claudio might say he's happy with what we've got but I'm sure he'll feel differently if Vardy does his hamstring against Liverpool tomorrow and misses a month, We saw how we struggled with Vardy having to play with a dodgy groin over the festive period, and we have even less striking options now Kramaric has gone. Hope Ulloa regains some form.
