ChrisFilter Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 How bad was our away end BTW? I know sometimes the TV doesn't give a true picture but I barely heard a peep out of us. Really poor showing from us today in a match where the players really needed us to counter the absolute embarrassing bile being displayed by the Arsenal players and fans customers. Not the loudest away this season, but it's not a ground built for atmosphere. Comparatively small allocation.
Flyfox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Gutted. Even more so by the fact that I was ne of just 2 City supprters in a Lanzarote bar full of gooners. Half expected a smack on the back of the head after the Vardy pen went in!..
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 This game really showed how desperate Arsenal are to win the league (both players and fans). We won an absolutely legitimate penalty and from that second on, the fans and players were constantly in the referees ear to the extent that we were denied an obvious second penalty. At 0-2, I doubt very much they would have come back. As for our defending, heroic doesn't cover it. To a man we were absolutely superb following the red marred only by Wasyl's rush of blood to the head. As supporters we should be so proud of today. Arsenal may have won the game but only one team looked and behaved like Champions. Well said Betts.
RowlattsFox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I think we were a bit quick to take Mahrez off, and then bring gray on not long afterwards. Mahrez had started second half well and could have provided a link to Vardy.
Old Fox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I see a few folks have resorted to blaming certain players, the manager and the ref. (who else?) for the loss. Some were even criticizing the travelling support! The way I see it is as a moral victory. That's no good for points but it might make City even more resilient. The pressure they soaked up was enormous, especially after Simpson was sent off. I'd be very surprised if Arsenal or Man City won it now. Arsenal embarrassed me with their constant whining in the ref's ear - like spoiled little brats. If that's what belonging to a 'big' club is then count me out. There's something about their fans that's slightly disturbing - the camera panned part of their crowd after Welbeck scored - they weren't celebrating scoring as much as revelling in doing us down - almost as if it was something personal - as if we'd dared to think we could be better than them. Nasty. This is a setback not a defeat. The lads were magnificent today - we should remember and revel in that rather than identifying individuals we can hold responsible for the loss. Top post........said to my boy that today may galvanize the team even more....they have spent £m's on Ozil, Sanchez, Welbeck et al and 11 vs. 11 we would have got something...personally would have left Mahrez on as an out ball with Vardy but had we held on for a point we all would have been praising Claudio again....we move on.....so very proud of all the players and to be a blues fan!!
The Doctor Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 It was the lap of honour. I've never seen one mid-season before. Not watched Liverpool this year?
David Guiza Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 https://www.thesportspredictor.com/#/predictor/with/season,pro,hideFinished,showToolshad far too long spare on a Sunday evening to complete this. Had us finishing top by a point on 82. Long way to go, there will be slip ups from all four sides at unexpected places. Really don't know who I would want to win if it wasn't us, given tat the options are:- Arsenal - some of most fickle and 'modern' football fans in the country. Spurs - like the manager and a few of the players, but the fans are so bitter from being in Arsenal's shadow it almost hurts. Oh and Harry Kane. Man City - likable fans, but I lost a lot of respect with how they dealt with the Pep/Peligrini fiasco. Probably have to side with them, but it looks unlikely at the moment.
Matt Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Gutted. Hate Arsenal, always have, always will. So disappointed today BUT I said i'd be ecstatic with 5 points out of Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal, we've got 6! So fairly happy despite the loss, just given the circumstances so, so, so disappointed, feels like i've been stabbed in the stomach and that's not exaggeration! Ramsey's a cunt, infact all Arsenal players are cunts. I know this comment isn't going to be popular because Tottenham are the in team to hate on here so it seems (We've moved on from Sunderland) but after today (Well, not today, since forever) if we don't win the league I want Tottenham to just to spite Arsenal fans, they are the biggest wankers ever, summed up by some loudmouthed Arsenal fan walking into Leicester station this morning annoucing to anyone who would listen to him 'Oh, all these Leicester fans, won a few games, top of the league, they now think they're world beaters'...several times. As for the Emirates, nice stadium, bit too poncey for me with there padded seats but more of an issue is their diabolical atmosphere, worst in the league, gotta be, pathetic.
RowlattsFox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Is Inler carrying a knock? Could maybe have done with experience today at times. Do we need gray and dyer on the bench?
LcFc_Smiv Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 What are other people's views on the Drinkwater tackle, my opinion was foot was a bit high, but won the ball comfortably and not a lot could be done about the follow through. All I'm seeing on social media is about how he should have been sent off.
EGBFitness Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I've said this all season but I think the closing stages against Man City and today's game highlights highlights this. Our style of play all season has been amazing, I love watching our fast, free flowing football hitting teams on the break but closing some games out or changing style seems to be a problem for us. Why do we struggle to keep possession so much!? We was down to 10 men against one of the best possession teams in the league, we spent 30 mins chasing shadows (which was a great effort by the players) but I can barely think of 5 passes we strung together! Surely games like today we could of took some pressure off ourselves for brief periods in the game and looked after the ball! Ho many times did we play a long ball up to Vardy that failed!? It gave Arsenal the ball back and put the pressure straight back onto us. It was the same against Man City last week during the last 10 mins. In injury time too Drinkwater had the ball next to the corner flag, any other team would of held it there and played for time looking to earn a corner/throw in. Drinky decided to cross the ball that went straight out, there was only Vardy in the box! It was after this Arsenal went straight up and got their corner that then lead to the freekick-goal. It's moments like these that frustrates me, I'm not taking anything away from the players performances or their desire to win but there's times in games you need to play for time/take pressure off yourself and we seem to fail to do this?
Callabinho Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 What puzzles me is the amount of shit we're now getting from opposing "fans" mostly soft ***** living in Leicestershire supporting other clubs because their sad lives involve little success as it is so they have to "support" Liverpool or Man U... 11v11 we had their number, but Atkinson clearly succumbed to their moaning and booked Simpson for what can only be described as the softest ****ing yellow card in history. Pissed off, and the sooner we rip Norwich apart the better.
weller54 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Is Inler carrying a knock? Could maybe have done with experience today at times. Do we need gray and dyer on the bench? Gray NOT ready! Dyer NOT good enough!
UnitedFan Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Ramsey should get a ****ing ban for that. yeh this was disgusting. alright, it could have gone badly wrong and off you go again for another season....but to roll like a continental pus*y and then get in the refs face with that anger.....book the bstrd. the moment this happened and he got up i was fuming.
Voll Blau Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Not the loudest away this season, but it's not a ground built for atmosphere. Comparatively small allocation. Funny how Napoli, Galatasaray, Bayern, Dortmund etc don't need those excuses when they play there...
UnitedFan Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Sanchez thinks he's an absolute baller but really he has a horrible habit of doing a few step-overs then absolutely slicing his shot. this made me . that one slice shot in particular.....30 pence that was worth
Corky Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I'm loathed to criticise Ramsey because he's had horrendous injuries and probably has fear when involved in something like that. Sanchez early on was hilarious. Tapped on the ankle by Simpson, three or four rolls of "agony", gestured to the ref, straight up and running into the box. That was a miraculous recovery.
martyn Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Ramsey reaction was pathetic but it really was a bad challenge from Drinkwater. If Coquelin did that to Mahrez we'd be up in arms.
UnitedFan Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 If only he'd been rolling towards Was. Was should be a WWE wrestler after football. He's got the look. I'd love to see him destroy a few of them Arsenal players. Giroud, Ramsey, Coquelin, Walcott etc
UnitedFan Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 The ref cost us the game IMO. Simpson shouldn't have been sent off, poor decision. Totally deflated after that. Mahrez for Gray was very strange? Did anyway else see Simpson tell Stowell to "fu*k off" when he got sent off, thought it was a bit disrespectful. I saw Schmeichel tell Giroud to fu*k off, and I thought that was marvellous

Understood but to roll around and literally jump up? There's fear and there's play acting.
Max Power Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 All the hype will be on Spurs now. We played decently but just lost out. Break will do us good before a run of winnable games.
ChrisFilter Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Funny how Napoli, Galatasaray, Bayern, Dortmund etc don't need those excuses when they play there... Did you go to the game? If not, perhaps next time you can show up and contribute.
