Arsenal Post Match Thread 2 - 1

The ref cost us the game IMO. Simpson shouldn't have been sent off, poor decision. Totally deflated after that. Mahrez for Gray was very strange?

Did anyway else see Simpson tell Stowell to "fu*k off" when he got sent off, thought it was a bit disrespectful.

He was talking to the retards behind the dugout

That was cruel - was in the Home end today. Good voice from our fans but subdued once Simpson was sent off. I wish were hadn't resorted to bully-boy tactics. We should have tried to play our own attacking game today in the end we nearly scraped a draw but we were lucky not to have lost it during the 90 minutes anyway. Put this one down as one to learn from and move on. Also Kasper and Kante were both world-class today.

I would agree Arsenal probably had the better chances, but I'm sorry that red card changed the game. We were defending fine till that point in the game.

Yes 1-0 up at that point, defending resolutely to the point they had zero shots on target.

Two idiotic decisions by Simmo and Waz cocked it up - end of.

It's not the end of the world - we start with a clean sheet of paper now 2 clear at the top. 6 pts from 9 out of Liverpool, and two away trips at Man City and Arsenal is a decent haul.

Bring on the Canaries!

Fvcking hate Arsenal fans, the one's we had above us walking out celebrating like they'd won the league. A grown woman giving the wánker sign embarrassing.

Our end was terrible, hardly any noise at all people more interested in taking videos or photos of the play than actually start singing.

Also why didn't Coqulein get booked for running up and pushing Mahrez from behind when he was walking off?

Because that would have been a 2nd yellow, and the ref wouldn't do that.

Was in there too, their winner was tough to take.

I thought they had won the World Cup by the way they were celebrating.

Me too. Such a negative bunch their fans. Barely a positive chant all afternoon. Kept my head down at the end. Felt like calling each and everyone one of them a c..........t

Yep.. Just so painful when that 94th minute winner went in....

But WTF was Wasilewski thinking????

I don't feel gutted at all. Today was a free hit. Six points from our last threee is a fantastic return. We are two points clear at the top with a nice run of fixtures coming up. We end the weekend in a better position in relatin to CL qualification than we began it. We can't win every week and if we are going to lose then I'll take it being in the last seconds against a top club when we've performed heroically against ten men for forty minutes.

So far one of the better posts.Too many posters watching, but not seeing the game.No I didnt like their antics, worse than Chelsea with rolling over or moaning, always in the refs ear.

but Arsenal had us under the cosh, they did play the better football.

Blame game...Simpson/Was, a bit silly really.Vardy had some good chances, but was weak in delivery of shot, shall we hang him too.

Our defenders were taking alot, mistakes will be made.

Taking it out on the players, who have given us this season, no ....Rather blame Rachel, and King Dick

I imagine the Arsenal warm up involves an intense jog around the pitch whilst the first team coach shouts numbers at them:

1 - right hand touch the floor

2 - left hand touch the floor

3 - roll around on the floor

4 - jump for header

5 - sprint up to me and yell in my face

6 - both hands touch the floor

7 - wave imaginary yellow card

Their fans are terrible. Close to zero knowledge of the game, get out of their seats and moan at the ref everytime one of their players gets challenged. They didn't start singing until they scored in the 70th minute. They were just an embarassment the way they celebrated needing a 95th minute winner to beat 10 men.

After all that though, we are STILL top of the league.

We lost a point - if you think arsenal will bottle it anyway then it doesn't matter that they are two behind us.

A draw would have been about right, even taking the s off Into account

Now we have to respond as we did to the home defeat and its Norwich up first again!

all this "their fans celebrated" stuff is pretty pathetic like. of course they did. firstly who cares who they're playing or how many red cards or decisions go their way, if you score with the last kick of the game you're down the aisle.

secondly, we ask for respect all season and now we resort to this? they've celebrated that like a last minute winner on a huge day coming from behind against a genuine title rival. dya know why they've celebrated it like that? cos that's exactly what it was.

Only ourselves to blame, the sending off was needless (whether Simpson was unlucky or not, he pulled back a player whilst on a yellow card) and it meant a change of shape and an important attacker being taken off. We also gave away a poor foul for the second goal when the game was almost done, putting unneccesary pressure on our goal.

Generally I thought we were excellent, we defended very well for the majority and looked to get forward in numbers. Up until the sending off we had the better chances and Cech was the busier keeper. But decisions cost us and we should've come away with a point, they were getting very frustrated, the crowd especially. We'd done most of the hard work in getting at least a point and we threw it away.

This game really showed how desperate Arsenal are to win the league (both players and fans). We won an absolutely legitimate penalty and from that second on, the fans and players were constantly in the referees ear to the extent that we were denied an obvious second penalty.

At 0-2, I doubt very much they would have come back.

As for our defending, heroic doesn't cover it. To a man we were absolutely superb following the red marred only by Wasyl's rush of blood to the head.

As supporters we should be so proud of today. Arsenal may have won the game but only one team looked and behaved like Champions.

Our fans used to be quite good at this as well a few years back.

For what it's worth, I think we maybe should have gone 3-5-1 when Simpson went off, with Fuchs and Albrighton as wing backs.

All 3 have played well in that position and would have made us a bit more solid.

Just in this specific case, not for future games.

It was the lap of honour.

I've never seen one mid-season before.

Agree. Would have thought that'd be the plan from 31st of January when De Laet went out if Simpson was ever unavailable.

yeah that sounds gay like. but ive seen loads of people on here and various other placing saying "they only beat leicester why they celebrating like they've won the league". well because 20 minutes before they scored they were 0-1 at home and 8 points off top, then they've turned it around against top of the league and scored in the 95th minute.

if we scored a 95th minute winner against 8 man accrington stanley in the league cup second round i'd go f ucking mental, let alone against a title rival

Coquelin was fortunate, Mahrez was taking his time going off but you shouldn't go around shoving players. Atkinson didn't deal with that at all and gave Wenger the chance to sort that out by allowing him to be substituted instead of a possible yellow card.

And Kante's display was incredible. The boy was everywhere and barely played a bad pass.
