Arsenal Post Match Thread 2 - 1

I don't know what happened to the Ref at half time but I have to say it's renewed my utter hatred at Arsanal.

The way I'm feeling now, it if came down to a title decider between them and Spurs I'd want Spurs. **** Arsanal.

For those telling everyone to chill the flip out... You're right. But given the nature of the defeat, As far as I'm concerned people are allowed to lose their heads for a minute; Arsenal for me represent everything that is EVIL.

I used to respect Wenger for the sort of teams he put together but my mind's changed markedly because every setback is someone else's fault and the way Arsenal so cynically drew the referee's attention to every minor or major event and worked on weakening his resolve only reminded me of a phrase that Pearson once used in a different context. I won't repeat it cos I couldn't defend it but I'd sure have loved to give Wenger a piece of my own mind.

Because he's a liability defensively

Ah right. And Wasilweksi isn't? We'd just cleared a corner. He needed to stay calm and the ref would've pretty much blown the full time whistle.

I don't think the subs worked very well (and I don't think they were great against Man City)

Was to come on when Simpson got the red was the best option, but I think Okazaki off at that point would have been better. Mahrez is always a bit weak defensively but always requires heavy marking and would have tied up their full backs.

With Albrighton moved right wing and Gray on the team lost a bit of defensive shape. Gray played well, but a tough brief for a fairly junior sub. I cannot see how bringing on King helped either.

Because if RDL came on we would of been opened up like we did at home. Was went for a challenge in the air and Arsenal got the decision in their favour as every challenge in the second half. He had a good game against Sanchez.

He cost us the bloody game. We'd just cleared a corner and it was down to the last few seconds. Wake up

Even if we drew the game, a Tottenham win later and we would be 3 points clear with a worse goal difference. Or 4 points with a man city win.

A draw would only have been a great result if it was a draw at man city too.

I feel like I want to cry.

Don't blame the ref. Unfortunately some of the players got caught up and let the occasion get to their heads.

Simpson. What a moron. Yep, it weren't a yellow, but you're asking to get sent off doing fouls like that on a yellow.

Was. I don't know what you're doing pal. Sure you're mind was in the right place. But that was a ****ing stupid foul.

Let Arsehole have this victory. It's February not May. Plenty of more twists to come.

I'm not concerned about winning the league, I never have. Two week gap will hopefully rest our players and take their mind of things. For Norwich, we GO AGAIN.

This!

Mustn't dwell this. Bring on the Budgies - we're gonna kill 'em!

Before these two TOUGH game away, people were predicting we'd lose both.  =  0 Points.

I'd have happily have settled for two draws. = 2 Points.

We won one, lost one. = 3 Points.

I'm more than happy.

We'd have been 5 points clear of arsenal in stead of 2. A draw would have been a great result.

To be fair, when Simpson committed the second offence I had a feeling that the ref would send him off. Had it been at home, I think he would have got away with it

That's the thing it was only given because the Arsenal fans were on the refs back. It's a foul but in such a big game it just doesn't Warrant a sending off. If he had been in a red shirt wouldn't have gone

Arsenal don't bother me though. They will falter. It's man city that are the real dangers in my opinion.

Was is a great servant but not in that situation. Quite the opposite. Arsenal were going to make something of anything and there was Was being pushed into a physical battle royal. What surprising is not that it happened but that we were so naive in allowing it to happen...and in a position where the much more mobile Shinji would normally have been doing the second phase harrassing.

We'd have still been a point better off than we are now.

Gutting to lose like that. Ref was to keen to get the 2nd yellow out when he could have let it go but it was stupid of Simpson.

Thought Wasyl did well until that moment. Initially did well to win header, thought he could win it and maybe set a counter attack up bit should have realised he wasn't going to get there.

Great effort again, on the balance of play it's hard to say we deserved to get anything from the game but the red card changed any chance of us attacking.

Forget this now, 12 game season where we don't have to play any of our nearest challengers with a 2 point start. Bring it on.

Wake up from a 50/50 tackle! If he pussied out the challenge you'd all slag him off for backing out there, if we had defending the freekick better and finished 1-1 you wouldn't of even been mentioning about that challenge now!

As Said before, as a whole Wes had a good game against Sanchez. RDL wouldn't of been as solid defensively as Was was today

Still feeling really fvckin angry and pissd off at this loss. It's gonna take a while to get over this one I think. Maybe I've forgotten how much it hurts to lose.

Posted

I was so chuffed with our performance until the sending off ruined the contest. Our only response now is to stick the injustice of it right down Arsenal's throat and laugh at Wenger's carping when it happens.

Posted

Gutted we have to wait two weeks to play again. Two whole weeks of our bubble being burst and Arsenal having won the league.

I don't think losing is a big issue. I said pre match if we win its the biggest win in our history, but it's not the biggest loss.

Isn't any yellow justifiable if it's actually he right decision? That's the point here.

Detta

Soft/ridiculously harsh = wrong decision

The problem is the yellow card is just the referees interpretation.

They were both 100% "homer" decisions. The crowd beside Simpson created a big song and dance after each challenge that influenced the yellow cards. Very weak refereeing.

What?

A win would've kept Arsenal at bay rather than letting them close the gap (and giving them a huge boost). A draw would've been an incredible result for leicester!

Well they should, they're second in the league!
