BrummieFOX Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 For me, its not so much that i would doubt him to do a Job... It more about Kante and what he can do , being a very very unique situation. Yes King can do a job, but there's not many players in the prem that can do the same job as Kante... Yeh agreed and it'll be a big loss for sure.
fuchsntf Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I hope Amartey gets at least some time in midfield whilst Kante is out. I know that King is a safer choice and that he looked a bit nervous on his debut but we scouted him as a midfielder and spent good money on him. We're out of all the cups so he'll have to be blooded in the league and the importance of each match and the pressure is only going to increase the closer we get to May. If he's going to make a positive contribution this season then now is the time to get him settled and playing to the ability that the scouting team decided was good enough for us to buy him. He'll have his time from the Bench to start, unless we are hit by other injuries. King deserves his role, hes been in successfull point chasing games this season
davieG Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I doubt Amartey is match fit enough to play a full 90 mins in midfield we can always bring him on later either a replacement or to bolster the midfield if need be whether that is to go for a win of to hang on to a lead.
ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Disappointed that Kante is injured but pleased that the legend Andy King is going to play. League game number 290 in a foxes shirt.
Guest MattP Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Huge loss for us, no point pretending it isn't, no one else can do what Kante does, let's hope that King can step up to the plate and offer something in a different way.
SecretPro Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Don't quite see King as a direct replacement for Kante. Not in any way shape or form. I like Kingy but he tends to go missing A LOT and with our midfield pairing pulling all the strings this is a big worry for me, I mean there is no way on earth King will put in even a fraction of the tackles that Kante does.
filbertway Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 The small amount of hysteria on here shows how threadbare our squad is. Luckily the next game is one of the easier ones.
Simi Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 The small amount of hysteria on here shows how threadbare our squad is. Luckily the next game is one of the easier ones. It really doesn't. It shows how people underestimate the quality of the squad players we have, Of course we don't have anyone of the quality of Kante to just come in, but we have Andy King and Gokhan Inler, both full internationals who are more than capable of stepping up and doing a job.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 King can come in, we beat these last season without Kante so can do it again I'm sure
st albans fox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 so n'golo hasn't been fully fit all season, imagine how good he will be when he is !!!!
Foxy_jim Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 The small amount of hysteria on here shows how threadbare our squad is. Luckily the next game is one of the easier ones. I hope that last comment is a joke. Kante out is massive, if anything we need a holder alongside DD, like Inler. Kings an ok sub, but not fit to lace Kante's boots. I'm worried his loss has come just at the wrong time, with spurs next 2 tough, we could pull away.
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Huge boots to fill for his replacement. Big blow.
Fox in the North Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Huge loss for us, no point pretending it isn't, no one else can do what Kante does, let's hope that King can step up to the plate and offer something in a different way. King has deputised well in the past when called upon. Yes he is no Kante, but I think this is a good opportunity for him to step up and for Kante to recharge.
sdb Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 How do you work that one out? I don't think people grasp how different it is being moved from the centre of the pitch to being playing out wide on the right flank. He's not a right back. Yes he can do a job there but he's quite clearly not fully comfortable in that role. First game in a much higher league and he plays out of position? Considering all that he played well. No one has seen Amartey play centre midfield yet. You can't judge how he may or not play in one position because he didn't set the world alight in another. Danny Drinkwater is quality playing in the centre of midfield. Last season when being asked to play on the right side of a diamond he was poor. Does that mean he's a bad player? Or is he just better in one position than the other? No one can judge Amartey's credentials to play in the midfield until he's actually been given an opportunity to play for Leicester there. Or does it mean that a years worth of experience and reflection has been him acclimatise to a much higher standard? Calculate risk. A 21 year old who's played a half a competitive game in this country cannot command a game from the centre of the park for the team at the top of the division. Anyway, re: Kante. WBA may not be the sort of game he's as essential in (I hope), in that they may sit pretty deep and play more direct. That said, I really hope he's back for Saturday and either way, losing him at all is a real blow.
Foxes1 Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I can just see the headlines tomorrow if we drop points 'Foxes talk goes into meltdown as so called fans blame Andy King for the defeat'.
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I don't quite understand this "time to recharge" business. They've just gone two weeks without a game and had a weeks holiday within that.
Claridge Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Huge boots to fill for his replacement. Big blow. Huge boots to fill for his replacement. Big blow. Rubbish he's only a size 6. Some people just talk rubbish on this forum
Swarles Barkley Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Those who dont think king is good enough for our team have very short memories. Yeah sure hes not as good as kante but this is the guy that came in at the back end of last season and stepped up when others(drinky and james) couldn't. Hes good enough to replace kante for these two games
WesMorganGod Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Kante will be a huge loss for us, he is our engine in the middle, but just hoping its not gonna be longer than 2 games.
Suffolk exile Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 As others have said - trust equally in Claudio and Kingy! We'll be grand.
WesMorganGod Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 King is the man for me to replace Kante. No one else. He won't let us down, I'm calling it now he is gonna be superb against West Brom and Watford, I feel it.
Mickyblueeyes Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Massive loss. Thankfully it's two games not two months. To win a title you need to play the squad game simple as. Don't get me wrong I bloody love Kingy, think he is seriously underrated. If it was Drinkwater who got injured I wouldn't think twice about King as replacement. I just think in these two sorts of games we may need slightly more bite alongside creativity. I would start Inler simply for that reason. However, if King does start, we'll get a 100% as usual and we will be fine.
red5 Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Ever tried making your debut in front of 32,000 people for the team top of the premier league in a league that is completely new to you? Lets not forget Kante didn't look amazing in his first few games. Yes he did So after 2 weeks off we're giving him 2 weeks off to recover
Jamiebux Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 How is matty James?? Came back a while ago in the under 21s? Injured again or just not fit yet.
FoxesFan94 Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Would rather lose him for 2 games now than the last few games of the season.
