HighPeakFox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 This is somewhat of a variations on a theme, but I had my first experience of a perfect stranger who supports someone other than LCFC, getting my attention (due to my 1995 Pukka coat) to wish us luck, and express a desire that we win it - said we're the best and deserve it. This was a Man City fan, about 60, in Buxton Morrison's! I'm wondering where and when this happened to others amongst you, be interesting if someone has had this happen in a more exotic environment!
filbertstreet Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 smug forest guy in burger king said he hoped we got out of league 1 one day

In Prague a few weeks ago in a bar and I met an American and we started talking football. It was weird to hear him talking about Wasilewski like he was David Beckham. Suppose the media have made me think that they only care about big names over there but apparently we're seriously well liked over there and Jamie Vardy is becoming a bit of an celebrity.
Tim'llFixIt Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 After the Chelsea games, two forrrstbfans turned around to me and said, it's feels like it did back when they did it and they are rooting for city to do it ( I don't buy into the forest rival bs ) A man city fan also took me to the side at a Christmas party and said " Leicester scare me, but vardy and marhez bloddy terrify me " I always get a nod of when I don my city shirt up in Worcester, I don't know what it means all I know is I find myself doing it to other people in city shirts it's like a universal secret code of we can do this
Carl the Llama Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Not happened, I have had to endure a lot of delusional arrogance from a Man City fan struggling to cope with how this season's panning out which is good enough for me. He spent the winter telling me at regular intervals and with a straight face how we'd fall to pieces and they were going to smash us 5-0 when we meet, I just smiled and told him I hoped he was right or he'd end up looking like a massive pillock. He doesn't like talking about Leicester now.
Webbo Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I was in Barcelona about 10 years ago wearing a Leicester shirt when a bloke came up to me and told me hs girlfriend was a Leicester fan. How are you supposed to reply to that?

promised land Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I was in Barcelona about 10 years ago wearing a Leicester shirt when a bloke came up to me and told me hs girlfriend was a Leicester fan. How are you supposed to reply to that? Ask him to show you a photo, then say, 'yeah, I've been there'.
Gerard Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I was in Barcelona about 10 years ago wearing a Leicester shirt when a bloke came up to me and told me hs girlfriend was a Leicester fan. How are you supposed to reply to that? That's swinging code for an offer of a threesome. I hope you had a good night.

MANFACE Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 When a group of people starting talking about football, mainly Man U , Arsenal , Liverpool , Man City , Tottenham etc etc... I always start off with "I support a small team, the team of my birth. I thought we would be in a relegation battle this year, but we are doing ok" Question: "What team do you support?" Answer: "Leicester City" The looks on their faces is priceless. But they do say we hope Leicester win the league.
bovril Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I was in Barcelona about 10 years ago wearing a Leicester shirt when a bloke came up to me and told me hs girlfriend was a Leicester fan. How are you supposed to reply to that? 'A Leicester' I believe is dogging code for a sexual predilection that has been banned in 27 of the 28 EU countries. You dodged a bullet there.
Weller in Tights Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 On holiday in Verona with my family 10 years ago. Me and my two sons were in Leicester shirts (the wife is constantly embarrassed across Europe with our City shirts on holiday but it has to be done). Some random Italian bloke stopped us and said "Leicester City....... Mancini"

shailen Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I remember being at uni 4 years ago in my Leicester shirt and the guys taking the p*ss asking who are they, some average team. I told them then we would be in the PL team and our players would be almost household names. Although I was convinced Knockaert would be one of them
Guest bss9401 Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Several times in Turkey in the late 90's when Muzzy Izzet was with us. I did not have any name on my shirt but going through a market with people shouting Izzet's name was pretty amusing.
NotQuiteAFox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Got a taxi from Manchester airport. Driver started banging on about Manyoo then asked where I was from. I answered and he responded with, 'Ah, so your a proper fan then'. Made me chuckle.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I live in SE London, and work close to crystal palace, as you can imagine there's a variety of London club supporters. The Arsenal one the other day (before we played them) said we were giving them 'beef' and it wasn't funny us hanging around anymore! It was in fun tho, and I get the feeling that they all want us as their no.2 team, so if it's not them then thy hope it's us. Happy times
FLAN Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Got an ex colleague in Montenegro rooting for us who mails or texts me every few games. I think he probably owns the only LCFC shirt in the country
mikey_b Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 watching the Arsenal game at Centre Parcs last night, a couple got quite irate at the fans holding that Wenger sign up at the end and noticed me sniggering, asked who i follow and had no come back to "the team currently top of the league" got a lovely bitchy look when crossing them at the rapids this afternoon too
Renart Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I watched the Man City game in a sports bar in Coogee, Sydney. I was wearing my Leicester top and at one point had a queue (albeit only 3 people) wanting to talk to me. Aussie and English. Another group of lads - Man U supporters - were insistent that me and my fiance come and sit with them (they cleared us a space). When we scored the third half the bar started singing 'you're gonna win the league' and pointing at me - they were on their feet chanting. It was all rather surreal. I got bought a few pints that night. I was in Bali a couple of weeks later and the guy who was driving us who had never left the island was obsessed with talking to me about Leicester when he found out where I came from and who I supported. It is quite weird as I usually have to explain who we are to people from outside the UK.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I got stopped by a few people in Dubai last month when I was walking around in my Leicester shirt. "Love your team, would be amazing if you won the league" that sort of thing.
costonfox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 In Brewers Grantham today picking up paint for job tomorrow, delivery driver comes in and sees me with city bobble hat on and says oh you another one jumping on the band wagon.no I said I was born in Leicester (bond st hospital) and am a season ticket holder, who do you follow ,Leeds he said ,do you go ,no he said ,oh your another Leeds wvnker ,wish I'd never opened my mouth he said going out the door ,we won it back in the seventies I said you live in the past tossed ,l do hope we win it ,I really do.
